I saw Kathy Mattea in concert several times back in the day, just loved her warm voice, the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. She was very engaging during her show, she'd tell stories between songs and I recall she had a good sense of humor. One concert in particular I remember was at Wolf Trap, would have been in the fall of 1993 or 1994. I can't do justice to describing the atmosphere but if you've been there it's a stunningly beautiful venue. Everything was just perfect that autumn evening, the weather, the clear sky filled with stars, the glow of the stage lights against the lovely Wolf Trap wood, and of course her magical voice. I can still vividly remember that evening over 25 years later. I sure miss the quality and the style of her music which is sorely missing in country radio these days. Good thing I bought a lot of CDs back then including most of hers! Think I'll pull them out and have a listen. I just stumbled across this video by chance but it's been nice to think about her, 90s country music in general and that concert in particular again.
90s country has been trending again. And I'm telling you, Terri Clark, Suzy Bogguss and Pam Tillis have made it look easy when it's not. As well Kathy has been staying the course. Kathy is one of the most beautiful women with her personality. Absolutely love her
As beautiful as this lady is. I am so glad she has been in Country Music for so long. Her, Pam Tillis, Suzy Bogguss and Terri Clark are my Girls. I have literally as a guy idolized these women and how they have been so classy for so long. Nothing but love for Kathy.
