This was a fun little challenge that we didn't know was going to be so challenging 😅😅 Are there any little luxuries you have or would like to have on your boat that you think are essential?? Be careful not to give us any good ideas or we just might try it out (can't help ourselves).
Hi you three, LEON being the Captain, please consider the MANY people you'll have on board, and think about the WONDERMENT they'll all cherish of the HARD WORK you've undertaken... WOW, I wish I could help you guys !!! PS: PLS leave one small spot on your hull, so everyone can experience the hard facts of steel hulls, and THE STEEL NATURE OF THE "DRIVEN"... I like the and lack the INSIGHT... THANKS
Love what has been accomplished so far… Don’t loose track of the additional weight that is introduced…If you know the weight of the empty steel hull (including the keel weight) then you can calculate the ballast to displacement ratio.. Can you still find the original specs as designed by the boat designer..?
excellent problem solving for the washing machine installation. Way to go Fernando. BTW, my son's car has the same piece of wood for the same purpose. Whatever works...
Really good job fitting the washing machine. Sometimes you have to think out of the box to find a solution. Wouldnt be without our washing machine. But then we do have loads of room on our boat. Also have fridge and seperate freezer, full size domestic cooker, luxury.
Ahhh that does sound like a good life! We have a freezer build coming up and an ok size space for a fridge but we couldn’t swing a full-size stove. Maybe in our next boat project we can be so lucky 😉
G'day Lori n Luke. Did ya know, back in the day a lot of sailors just chucked their laundry I about a five gallon drum tied with a bit of rope and drag it behind the boat for a while. Ahh you younguns these days.❤❤❤❤
Cool install looks great . Does Fernando do the prototyping for the ‘production’ work of MM? I guess I’m asking how you got such talented and patient help ? Cheers Warren
Ola Anderson tudo bem. Obrigada
Sometimes the best way is to just jump in and get your hands dirty right? The computer was good for the overall idea of where we wanted things to go. But it can’t replacing Fernando’s amazing work! Glad you like the results so far!! Cheers
My question is how is the machine going to vent the heat from the motor running. It needs air circulation to the back of the machine to keep the motor an electronics from over heating.
This little machine was designed to be flat against a wall so it doesn’t need back ventilation nor does it have an exhaust for the dryer. We will however put a some ventilation holes on the side of the interior of the cabinet to give the cabinet some air circulation. As you said, always good to keep machines at a good temperature.
Hi! been watching your vids for a few weeks now, love how your dream is coming along! question I have is that I see the custom interior is all made in MDF (or what looks like MDF). Do you guys have plans to waterproof/resist the interior in case of water getting inside? I think the wood would swell/mold if you have any water or in humid conditions because its not sealed. anyway, looking forward to the next video!
We're glad you are along for our journey! How are you liking the build so far? The wood we are using is high-grade marine plywood. The wood is raw right now as it is just being modeled. But it will be treated and sealed soon. Stay tuned for that process! Cheers!
Ola Sergio, tudo bem?
That was challenging but nice to have figured it out you have an wood worker who steps up to the challenges of the build lahakai is going to look grand see you next time
hello from the Himalaya mountains . thank you for your inspiring contents ,preparing for the far away seas .i just subscribed and want to offer some thoughts : you chose a metal boat ,which is stronger and recyclable ,instead of the more environmental problematic 'plastic' boats ,something I would have done as well. a wash machine ,needing less water and giving more ease has mutual benefits .hopefully you research and store organic soap ,keeping to your more conscience oriented trajectory . you made previously a toilet content episode : what about using the common asian method of using soap and water, instead of toilet paper and could a safe stern seat be created ,where even women can use easily the outside in fresh air ,instead of using the inside toilet, since it ends up in the sea anyhow (away from shore ) ? .as an alternative emergency propulsion ,what about fixing a sliding holder for an outboard motor at the back ? personally ,I would try to avoid gas and fuel ,trying to use wind-solar-....energy as much as possible ,but an emergency outboard and emergency camping stove/heater might be good to have . in general ,once you are sailing ,dedicated content to environment preservation and healing might have mutual benefit for your channel and environment .you are an excellent story teller and more is needed in environmental activities on the sea and for visiting islands ,for instance concerning trash . one last thought : what about a sailing dinghy ,that can be rowed very good as well ? you are currently at an excellent wood workshop and that could be done in wood ,even as slide in wood/epoxy model (extending size and use ,by storing 2 halves into each other !? heartfelt greetings ,wishing you 2 and your boat and channel ,the very best !

Could a Air Fryer work? You could put it next to your washing machine, cawfee maker and dishwasher Lori.
Don't tempt us, we just might make it work 😂😂

Excellent diagram on how you installed the washing machine. Nice work!
Cool Cat. This Fernando. Well done. 🤘😉🤘

Great job
The interior is going to look stunning when your master craftsman finish the job, take care everyone,😊😊😊😊👏🏻👏🏻🇬🇧👍🏻
We hope so! We are sure Fernando will surpass our expectations! Cheers!
Fantastic Fernando is truly a marvel, machine fits perfect and will a real asset in years to come.
Totally agree!! 🙌🙏⛵️
Wow everything is coming together. So happy for you guys. 😎👍
Thanks!! 🙌🙌⛵️🙏
as a dancer I am a great carpenter😂😂

Your sons car had a washing machine too?
@@lahakai ha! it has room for one, but no, not yet. It has the length of wood to hold open the tailgate.
Ahhh was about to say, must be a pretty amazing car 😂
@@lahakai it's a volvo wagon. You could probably put pontoons on it and sail around the Caribbean.
😂😂
Very nice install. I'm amazed at how beautiful your interior is looking. you guys Rock!
I'm waiting and adopting for a glimpse of Lori's exterior.

@@lahakai We live on our boat in the UK, its a 57ft narrowboat. Some call it a barge, but not the correct terminology.
Very nice! Love how much space those have inside!

it looks good the interior will be beautiful in the end 😋
Thanks! Wait till it’s varnished and painted!

Ola Anderson tudo bem.

Como dançarino eu sou um ótimo marceneiro 😂😂😂
Você é uma cara multi talentoso 😂😂⚒️🕺🏼
Nice job, but was the 2nd hand washer tested? Before the hard work.
Yes! And it works great! 🍀
I say ditch the middle man. Skip the computer design and go straight to the drawing board. Interior is coming along nicely even with the do overs.

The gimbal is to low the hob should be at worktop level try turning it round and put the wait in the box part

Thanks Kevin! We love how he takes our ideas and doesn’t just make them real but improves upon them. Very talented guy!
will you add AC?
Sadly we will not 😅
I would think you would want the washing machine mounted on a gimbal so that it would correctly.
Where are the guests going to sleep when they come to visit?
That’s coming up soon! Stay tuned 😉⛵️
Like a hanging tool wall. French cleat is an excellent solution. Maintenance is doable.
Just watched an entire video on how to make a French cleat tool shelf. Loved it! Now we are going to need a bigger boat to make one of those too 😂

one last thought : what about a sailing dinghy ,that can be rowed very good as well ?
you are currently at an excellent wood workshop and that could be done in wood ,even as slide in wood/epoxy model (extending size and use ,by storing 2 halves into each other !?
heartfelt greetings ,wishing you 2 and your boat and channel ,the very best !
Seems you're constantly rearranging the furniture,
Não sabe falar em portugues.
Ola tudo bem? Não entendi, isso é uma pergunta?
