Hi. Probably the easiest is to replace the battery. The electric hand brake needs to be unwound. Have a look at this video for the procedure to manually unwind the hand brake.

Very well explained.. thanks sir .. but I am facing issue . After I changed pads i tried to reset brake pad change but it shows " reset unsuccessful" .. I tried 2 - 3 times but unsuccessful. Kindly direct me some measures to resolve issue.
I had this on my 2011 X3. It was resolved with a high grade scan tool.
You need to change the sensor once the brake light appears on your dash. It wore out and must be replaced. If you swap the brake pads prior to the brake light on dash then you can reuse.
