That's the best thing about ATEEZ. Their songs are packed with different genres that seem to go so perfectly together, it's an ATEEZ genre. Their production team has been the same since the beginning of their career so it's always consistent.
The next song is Halazia, but the word Halazia comes from an early song of theirs called Hala Hala. So check out both!
I love seeing Metalheads/ppl who enjoy metal reacting to ateez because of the fact that ateez have such diverse style from other kpop groups.
They always have an ending scene in their mvs that relate to their lore/storyline. (There’s a whole universe lol) Although I love their storyline because it depicts them fighting against the oppression in a world that basically bans freedom and creativity (no “human” emotions, no music, no art, etc). The beginning of the music video you hear a voice that does a whole spiel about how “the disease is human emotions.” And they break through that with their song that’s basically saying to “break that wall with our feels, we are the Guerillas.” (The ending is a prelude to their next song halazia, that depicts the beginning of ateez’s fight against the people (signified by the bell you hear at the end). They boy is actually a student at a school (called prestige academy) where they ingrain the worlds beliefs.
But as far as the styles go, you’ll find that ateez has no “distinctive” style of music, but they pretty much create a style of their own, which is insane. Props to hongjoong, mingi, and their production team for making such diverse songs each comeback.
At then end of Ateez videos they're always teasers for another song, thats why even if you're confused now, it can be beneficial to watch until the very end. The ending song at this one is Halazia, like the other comments have mentioned. However if you want, I'd be down to watch you guys react to some live performances just cus Ateez really are some performance kings.
All of Ateez albums are connected in a giant story line, but you don’t have to go back to the beginning to figure out what’s going on. Each Ateez album is titled with a chapter name and an episode number, so you just have to go back to the beginning of the chapter. Guerrilla is from The World episode 1: Movement and Bouncy is from The World episode 2: Outlaw. There are 3 music videos that relate to the current chapter (the other is Halazia) and 6 bonus trailers that fill in the gaps of the story. Basically Ateez is a crew of pirates that can travel between dimensions using a special hour glass called a Cromer. On their journey they search for treasure, have adventures and fight bad guys, sometimes with the help of Halateez, which are the Ateez members but from an alternate universe. In the current chapter they have entered a dystopian world where they government brainwashes all emotion out of their citizens to more easily control them starting with the children at a school called Prestige Academy. (The uniform on the kid in the bonus scene from the Guerrilla video) Ateez starts an underground Guerrilla movement to overthrow the government which involves smuggling weapons inside chili peppers sold on the black market. Because if you didn’t have any emotions you might be willing to buy super spicy chili peppers on the black market just so you could feel something. It’s all kind of anime esqe.
The nerd part of my brain also remembers how the Movement tour was "Fellowship" and in "The Ring" it ends with lines taken directly from Tolkien's work...
so here I see it as "He who controls the Spice controls the world" because we have a song called "Dune" 🤭
Every single ateez song is different but the more u listen to them the more u recognize there is just a flavor to ateez that all of their songs have and no other group does. The very first vids are Pirate king and treasure (debut songs) but if u want to start at the VERY beginning u would have to watch their 4 pre debut performance vids (they dance, music isn’t theirs) under the name kqfellaz and the song From which is pre-debut too.
This is one of my favorite things about them. Even within a single cohesive album (like how you can tell that all of Outlaw just "fits" together), each song still has its own distinct flavor. It's such a wonderful thing to be able to experience.
Ateez have almost every genre but what's really crazy is how they do them all so well, you should react to more ateez and also their live performances cause ateez are known for being the best performers in kpop
Halazia next !
Im excited for the Halazia reaction!!
Ateez doesn't just stay with the same thing/sound. They really experiment and try different things all the time. You can listen to their discography and know what year or album it is. They do a great job in trying different arrangements as well. Great reaction!
The way they flow from one "genre" to another within the same song is part of what's so special about them, and why many of us say they are their own genre.
Whether it's a soft or hard song, jazzy or more edm-style, more rap-heavy or with everyone showing off vocals... none of that matters... their "sound" is "ATEEZ", no other classification needed, lol.
This is also why I could sit and listen to nothing but ATEEZ songs for hours and not feel like it's getting too repetitive, because there's so much variety within their catalog.
"Gumbo of Amazingness" might be the best thing I've ever heard to describe their sound. I love it!
Since David said something about it being kind of like a "Korean Linkin Park", you guys might actually enjoy Hongjoong's cover of "Numb"... it's NOT the same as LP's, it's more of a re-imagined kind of thing (which is how he approaches covers in general), but he's a fan and definitely did it justice. (Mike Shinoda said he saw and enjoyed it, too.)
Also, not that I want you to get lost in an Enhypen wormhole and ignore my ATEEZ guys, but... because you've mentioned some of the boy bands that were on MTV back in the day, you might get a kick out of "Blessed-Cursed" by Enhypen. That MV is literally packed full of homage to the visuals we got in the old Backstreet Boys and N*Sync MVs. I was never a fan of either group, but I'd seen enough of the videos to know that "Blessed-Cursed" definitely does exactly what it sets out to do (the MV beginning is set at 1999 rolling into the Y2K new year).
seeing this live is insaneeeeee!!! especially when the crowd is screaming BREAK THE WALLLLLL
It was WILD.
If you want some guitar in ATEEZ's music, I recommend ROCKY (BOXING ver). I am sure you will love it.
The follow up, video wise, was actually Bouncy, but there are storyline teasers and videos that you are missing that helps with the story. The follow up using the audio clip is their song Halazia, which is a side story to the current timeline.

This Playlist has all the mvs on it, plus relevant storyline videos (and a couple of live performances that I found amazing, lol)
Awesome that you liked this! To see ATEEZ at their best I suggest you also check out their live performance of the song, for example Guerrilla at 2022 KBS Song Festival is beyond epic!
ATEEZ are most known for their powerful live performances and stage presence.
I love that you said Linkin Park because HongJoong(First singer/rapper you see) did a cover of Numb and it's good. The band mates did see it on twitter and approved it. 😊❤😊
Oh and also Guerilla happens before bouncy, the order for that part is Guerilla, HALAZIA, and bouncy. If u look at the bouncy mv the members where wearing the uniform the guy at the end was wearing ig they sneaked in or sun but yea
Also Ateez is all about their performance so I hope you get to watch any of their performances
Loved the way you describe their music..Ateez is different from kpop i know
Just finished watching your reactionz to Bouncy and now Guerilla...Pls next Halazia for sure you'll gonna love it too!! Thank you for your good and honest reactions guys.💕
Ateez really have a very diverse discography, they mix a ton of genres and they do it very well! If you're keen to try a real rock inspired kpop group, try Dreamcatcher. Their latest songs like Bon Voyage and Vision would probably be up your alley 😊 but tbh anything of theirs is amazing!! ❤❤
Oh and forgot to mention, both Ateez and Dreamcatcher share some of the producers, so you might see some Ateez fans recommending Dreamcatcher and vice versa 😁
It's a precursor to the song Halazia, the Hala part comes from an earlier song called Hala Hala (Hearts Awakened Live Alive) and the Zia comes from Latin which means Light. (A little bit of useless info for you all.) BTW, love the Guns 'n Roses shirt, had one exactly the same lmao.
I know SO many metalheads that love kpop. Ateez & Stray Kids especially. ❤❤❤❤
If you want hard rock I’d suggest the group dreamcatcher or poison by pink fantasy but ANYWAYS. so glad you liked it 🫶
the ending scene is a teaser for the next song, halazia
Thank you for reacting to Ateez!! Honestly they are my favorite group so I loved this! A group I think you would like is Xdinary Heroes! They are a band that actually plays instruments. I would recommend you guys to listen to Test Me and Hair Cut! Again Love the reaction! Totally going to subscribe!
Thanks so much for the recommendation and for subbing! 😁🤘🏼
@@johnnybenderDEFINITELY check out Xdinary Heroes. Start with Happy Death Day which is their debut. For title tracks they have a toned down kind of rock but their b-sides are insane. Strawberry Cake is probably the best I've ever heard.
Hala Hala & Halazia Next. You guys need to do 'MAMA' by EXO, it's incredibly awesome and I'm confident you'd love it😊
They have an actual rock version available as well!! Listen to Guerrilla (Flag Vers.) thats on their ‘Paradigm’ album! Amazing song, sick vibes
Wow! I really love your reaction because it feels like I found reactors I can relate to in terms of music I listen to. I think you guys will love Geurilla Flag Version! Hope you guys would react to it some day 🤍
Thank you so much!!
