    Nicely done, Lin. You did a good repair job on the end assembly. Should last a reasonably long time.

    In all of my 50+ years of tinkering with motors, engines and generators I have NEVER considered rewinding a generator by hand!! Wayyyy to much work! I can't imagine teaching spoiled rich Americans to do that. Like teaching a barder to cut hair ONE strand at a time ! wow.

      I watched her do 3 phase motors and they look easier to do because of the symmetry. I have a single phase 120/220 Generac 4000Exl generator that I purchased a used. It had a bad stator for which turned out to have a bad 120VAC section unfortunately. It has extra stimulus windings for the rotor circuit along with the circuit boards . I have two other similar generators that use the same circuit boards 4000xl and 5500xl that are working and producing AC . Plus a much larger 8000w sears craftsman generator I got from a relative from 1989 with a bad potted regulator. I was lucky enough to get the replacement regulator 10 years ago and can now used it to power my house with central air for 6-8 hours at a time. The 4kw generator I used overnight w/o the ac to save gas and lower noise. The 4000exl I still have to fix but don’t have the patience at the moment. I don’t mind repairing the generator circuit boards or bearings or carburetor but i agree rewinding the stator would be a pain. lol

    hey Ling! quick tip see you at 1:06:00 you are hammering the balancer/pulleys on use a wide enough piece of wood. this evenly distributes the weight, doesn't damage the pulley/belt.
    also warming it up would be better seems like interference fit too toght

    I wish she could do a class and teach me how to rewind motors and generator heads. That work would be quite profitable here in the us where that equipment is scrapped because nobody repairs them - replacement only which is very expensive

    • @johnrathbun2943
      @johnrathbun2943 4 месяца назад

      She does have videos that shows her making the windings. It is a basic hand wound machine that she mounts to the side of her bench. And it's adjustable for making the big winds and little winds. You can count how many winds when you disassemble the motor. And write it down and count all of the slots and devide in half and you will know how many to make. It looks very easy. Just meticulous and daunting. And keeping everything in order.

    • @mrpbright
      @mrpbright 4 месяца назад

      ive seen her do that. Im sure its not hard to do but keeping track of where the terminations go etc does seem daunting@@johnrathbun2943
