my #1 worst personally (even if its not physical) is the bob ross nft. the constant bastardization of his face and name especially with something he'd be vehemently against especially from funko is disgusting. he spent his dying days trying to prevent his name being sold and commercialized for cheap shit like that.
@@CollectingPlastic i totally understand why you didn't though, it's not like it was a physical entity (though there are an obscene amount of bob ross funko pops now...). Love your videos man, been a viewer since 2017 :)
@@ghoulamvs4887 I mean there technically are physical Bob Ross NFT pops, it’s like if you get a specific NFT you win an exclusive Bob Ross pop but the NFTs themselves aren’t real yeah
The retro pony pops infuriate me to no end, because they're literally pointless. We've had a toyline of exact 1:1 recreations of the vintage pony toys for almost 5 years now, which actually look like the ponies with their gorgeous rooted hair and droopy eyelids. There's no point to having those ugly molded ponies with beady eyes, because the collector niche has already been filled by actual ponies.
These best/ worst series are so awesome dude. I remember seeing the ones from previous years on my recommended which is how I found out about your channel. Keep up the good work man!
My ex had gotten me the chrome orange Joker and it just looked so bad but I was like “awe thanks” and put it with my collection. Sold that shit real quick when we broke up
I dont enjoy Funko Pops as much as my dad (I have a few, he has 100+) so this channel isnt really in my wheelhouse but I love hearing people complain about stuff (cause I love doing that) so I have been binge watching your videos
Marvel Mech Strike is from the comic book. Cool thing about it is that they’re wearing those mechs for a reason. I personally don’t hate them, there’s other bad pops that are out there
That "comic book" is little more than a glorified advertisment, Mech Strike was just a merchandising term used to peddle garbage. It's not even a new idea, Marvel did the same thing with their Mega Morphs line in the mid 00's.
Damn bro I’m surprised you didn’t talk about all the Blacklight variants of shit they pumped out in 2021. It was absolutely terrible. Although, personally my brother loves Black Panther, and him seeing the GITD Black Panther Mech, he instantly wanted it for his collection.
Love this. Thank you for it. Personally, I love the creativity in the D&D line. I'm super disappointed with the size of the Mimic but the concept was amazing. If only it were the same size as an actual Funko box. Not sure if the Gelatinous Cube was this year or last but it is probably my favorite Pop of all time. And Tiamat was pretty great as well. Also really liked the Target Retro Series Star Wars set!
Display the Mimic without the box and its slightly less disappointing. If it had of been in a regular size box it wouldn't look as bad. They try some interesting things on the D&D range... but Mimic was a miss.
@@CollectingPlastic Don't get me wrong, it's still a worthy Pop in its own rights. Just missed the mark. "Deluxe" but not really at all. It's the same size as a normal Pop.
The D&D Mimic not being 1:1 scale to a real Funko pop box was my biggest disappointment of the year; it’s such a great design concept otherwise. I also loved the Star Wars retro line! They are a better “Art Series” than anything that line received.
Finally, a funko pop channel without clickbait thumbnails, no “WHATS GOING ON RUclips!” voice screaming at me demanding me to subscribe, no deceiving thumbnails of jumbos with deceiving scale size. Bought my first funko pop today and ordered a few yesterday on whatnot. I look forward to watching your channel as I collect more ☺️ btw my first funko pop was a Mai from yu gi oh and my sons first was the stranger thing masked O

I always look forward to these best and worst videos you make every year, they are so entertaining. I'm bedridden right now because I just got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed, and these videos are exactly what I need to help me chill and recover. Hope you're having a swell day, cheers bro. :-)
2:51 Don't personally agree, this is the only Kong v Godzilla pop I grabbed from last years release and, personally, I kinda love the way it looks. Maybe it's just cause I like 2021 Mecha.
I am currently getting my hands on the original fnaf gang, just waiting for restock where I am (Australia) Yes of course I could purchase them in America, however that means for a common pop will be around 50 dollars in shipping & tax plus universal travel. What I am trying to say is, does anyone know where the five nights at freddy is currently stocked at in Australia? (Preferred official stores but any will help)
I’m so glad the mech series was first here. I wanna gag every time I see them lol. Only thing I disagree with is the infinity series funkos. They are kinda cheaply done, but I don’t think they’re ugly. They’d be really cool displayed before a light or something
I thought you nailed the worst list really well. For some of the best recommendations I would put the Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends/Cartoon Network, Monsters Inc, Wall-e.
Mystic Armor Iron Man: I personally think he's great, looks just like the comic book version. The "skirt and halter top" is traditional samurai armor. Gingerbread Thor: I personally think he's adorable! The diamond version reminds me of crystalized sugar sprinkles. Selena: Yeah, those variants look almost EXACTLY the same. Space Mountain Mickey: As someone hugely into the Disney parks, they def could have done a lot more here, like adding a rocket trail coming out of the back of the ride to suggest speed. Junji Ito: His work really doesn't translate well into funko pops. I would prefer if they made any future ones black and white, colored in his signature scribbly style. Valentines: I think these are cute. Not for collectors, but great for a cute gift. Mr. DNA: Yeah, looks NOTHING like the source material. Very cursed. MLP: WHY DO THESE EXIST??? WHEN MLP TOYS ALREADY EXIST. Incredibly redundant. Just have Hasbro rerelease the originals.
Thanks for the laughs. The master splinter barber had me rolling. 😂 I very much dislike the Art Series too, your perspective on it would definitely make it. More enjoyable line of figures. 🎨
Yes, Funko unfortunately downgraded this year. There was so much I was not interested in at all. Also, there were so many ways they really went above and beyond to squeeze as much money as they could out of the fans. Love me some Battle Beats though!
I don’t even like or own a single Pop. But I saw your video of Worst Pops of 2020 last year when it came out and I enjoyed it a lot, and today I came to check for this year’s review and there it was lol. Great job!
One you definitely should’ve mentioned was the Spike Lee pop. It looks good in the glam shots, but in person, his beard looks weird because it wasn’t sculpted in, but painted on.
I only ever bought one Funko Pop figure... and it has an interesting story, too. My aunt's a Rugrats fan and her favorite character is Chuckie Finster. So one day, I was out roaming around, poking in a comic shop I hang out at sometimes, when I found a display case of Funko Pop figures with a handful of Rugrats mixed in. So figuring I'd take a look, I did, and I found one. Bought it, gave it to my aunt. She has it sitting on a shelf in a box.
The Pokémon line is the best and worst for me. Finally we got some new moulds this year, Pidgeotto and horsea both look super cute. But the laziness of the rest is terrible. My daughter collects the line so we buy every single pop. I have like 20 Pikachu in different poses, flocked, glitter, silver, metallic. Every time they drop a new pop they give us an old one with a silver respray as well. The insane demand for the glitter and flocked variant means that if you don't get the pops at release you pay 100 - 300 per pop. I had to pay $100 each for some limited flocked ones I missed, but I feel sorry for the people trying to get the glitters for 300+. Total cash grab all around.
Thanks for making a best and worst, I always look forward to laughing at some I also think are terrible. For me some of the best this year are the Avatar the Last Airbender. I actually have the venom and hulk mech strike figures. They are based on a toy line from years ago. The venom one is the coolest one. You do you man. Personally the worst funko pops are those stupid 10inch figures. What is the point? The normal figures are more practical and aren't space wasters. Another bad line was the recent Witcher pops so lazy. At least the mech strikes look different.
I have the valentines Star Wars funko pop all 4 (minus the R2-D2) as a gift from my wife and I like em they are my favorite color in pink because valentines is also my birthday. But what I’m trying to get at was when I posted a pic of them on my Snapchat and Facebook story many offer hundreds of dollars just for these pops. Now I’m no big big big mega Star Wars fan but I see true fans will do anything for collection like these. Just wish I had the R2-D2 one also
They did the same false size advertising for the D&D mimic funko pop. It sold as supersize pop so over double the price. And it's mimicking a funko pop box. So makes sense right!? Then it came in and it was smaller than a normal pop! In a huge box! Smh. Major bait and switch
You guilt tripped me for buying that Janet Snakehole. 😂😅 I wanted it to go along with Bert Macklin but I didn't realize how bad it was. Off to the dumps now.
God why would you make Junji Ito pops? Ito's hyper-realistic pen-and-ink style with lots of hatching lines does NOT transfer to Funko Pop's super-minimalist, boxy look. I legit saw that Tomie and thought it was someone from American Horror Story rather than Junji Ito, and the whole point of Funko Pops is supposed to be boiling down the core character details so that they're easily recognisable as being X character from Y property. Meanwhile, those are ... just My Little Ponies, but with soulless eyes and non-brushable hair. So, a worse My Little Pony, with none of the charm of the toy they're referencing
Junji Ito has one of the most beautiful art styles of Japanese comic book artists. The fact they had the gall to license those and make a pop line is just hilarious
I’ve never watched parks & recreation so I don’t even know who this character is but I can tell that, that veil is just part of her fascinator hat And because they have put a translucent piece of plastic and just painted the design on top instead of doing a sculpted black piece of plastic It looks crap and it looks like she’s a space ranger with a visor
As I’m a person who owns all of the Star Wars Valentine’s Day pops I just say You are dead wrong, they are amazing together and a cute idea for fans of Star Wars I do agree with the rest of the list though
Agreed Funko really dropped the ball here, smh. For best pops of 2021 I nominate the NYCC GameStop Exclusive Tiamat from Dungeons and Dragons, because for a 6 inch its very detailed each dragonnhead is detailed to be very different and not the same head used over and over. Plus it comes with a multi sided dice!!!! Really a dildo I don't know what youre into sir 😂
To be honest that pink storm trooper pop looks real nice but it’s probably only bc I like pink and I’m not very enthusiastic about pops in the first place

The pops are from the Anime which already simplified Ito's style and looked terrible. So the Tomie is a bad version of a bad version of Tomie.
I got my boyfriend the Valentine’s Day chewbacca Star Wars pop🤣🤣he loves it
He lyin'
@@CollectingPlastic LMAOOO excuse you…he put it next to his nightstand cuz he LOVES it that much🙄
I’ve never watched parks & recreation so I don’t even know who this character is but I can tell that, that veil is just part of her fascinator hat
And because they have put a translucent piece of plastic and just painted the design on top instead of doing a sculpted black piece of plastic
It looks crap and it looks like she’s a space ranger with a visor
What video did you review those acrylic stands? Looking to get one! Thanks CP
it was for the suicide squad mystery minis I think, theres a coupon code too. Not sure if it still works.
As I’m a person who owns all of the Star Wars Valentine’s Day pops I just say
You are dead wrong, they are amazing together and a cute idea for fans of Star Wars
I do agree with the rest of the list though
Nice
if you want trash on your display thats up2u :)
I love the music u picked
Garbage Man by the Cramps
Should bump these series (best and worst)up to 20-25. Always look forward to it and wish there was more!!
Love The Cramps playing in the cut scenes.
💪
Super dissapointed in the Iron Man with Gantry, its TINY.
I live for these lists. The only mech strike I got was venom lol
Head looks like a dinosaur head
Agreed Funko really dropped the ball here, smh. For best pops of 2021 I nominate the NYCC GameStop Exclusive Tiamat from Dungeons and Dragons, because for a 6 inch its very detailed each dragonnhead is detailed to be very different and not the same head used over and over. Plus it comes with a multi sided dice!!!! Really a dildo I don't know what youre into sir 😂
Wow, Funko actually managed to make Avengers mechs more disappointing than the Lego Avengers mechs.
I think they look awesome unlike most of the other marvel pops from this year
To be honest that pink storm trooper pop looks real nice but it’s probably only bc I like pink and I’m not very enthusiastic about pops in the first place
The disrespect of the Mechagodzilla is unreal lol
The Mech Strike ones kind of remind me of the transformers toys
yeah a little bit, baby versions
