I have the Finn pop you mentioned and it’s so good! One thing you can’t really see on the glam is that they actually sculpted his shoes so that you can see them through the translucent fire! I love when they put in little extra details like that, that most people wouldn’t even notice. The only complaint I have is that they didn’t give him cat eyes like he has in the episode, though it’s still nice that they changed the color. The only reason the eyes are especially noticeable to me is because I have Crowley from Good Omens, and they gave him his snake eyes even though they’re kinda hard to see behind his sunglasses. But overall, such a good pop!
The black-light pops, in general, are great! Scarlet Witch with the dark-hold would’ve been the best, had it been glow in the dark with red eyes. The Winter Soldier Amazon exclusive is a close one. Great award show, and happy new year!
Im playing the Curse of Strahd campaign rn so when i saw him it was an instant pickup then when i took it out of the box i was blown away bye the detail. They didnt have to put a red piece inside the clear glass. They didnt have to get so detailed with his jewelry and even hair. But they have made it almost a standard to get as much of the tiny details they possibly can, and with dungeons and dragons being mostly based on single drawings, the work they did with these is really impressive.
I had it on my list but honestly the way the water is glued together bothers me so ultimately I left it off. It draws my eye away from the pop too much plus they had made a similar piece with Jaws eating clint before so not as fresh of an idea. That said it IS a nice piece without looking at it with such a critical eye.

For my list I'd add Blacklight Ghostrider as best repaint or best rides. I don't have one and am not a biggest fan of a character, but I find this particular Blacklight great, definetelely one of the better ones of 2021. For best chases, I think Glowing Mr. Burns is a good one. Yeah he is all green and I like common a bit more, but it's memorable moment from the show an the full thing glows, so good for him! Also don't know whether to put him on best repaints, improvements or on the actual list, but I really liked Dia de Los Bane (GITD), you talked about him a day ago. Really like him, and it actually make sense for him to be chosen to have Dia de Los paint. As for the best series, I completely agree with your choices. DnD is great with no misses in line. I have Xanathar and wanted to get Tiamat, but she was hard to get in Russia and now is very expensive. But i really appreciate her. For me the better series of the year remain the Simpsons and also a new wave of Avatar pops. They all are executed pretty well, instantly recognizable, and look really well together! Thanks one more time for your top, love all the explanations and respect your choices. You did well! Good luck in New Year and I wish Best of 2022 video will be even more difficult to make (because of more good pops, get it? :-) )
Forgot to mention: new Hot Topic Deathstroke is definetely an improvement from previous versions vith his details and dynamic pose. Also The Suicide Squad series is a good one, but could use some improvements!
The new Godzilla pops all wowed me this year. Glow Heat Ray Godzilla wild have been my favorite of the year except you have to take it out of the box to really appreciate it. My current fave of the year is nycc Carnage
As someone who only has a few pop figures and is generally picky about how they look, I think my favorite this year has got to be the Yzma and Kronk con versions with there lab coats and goggles. They both just look so great and have so much character to them.
Always love your best of the year videos and this one was great! Totally agreed with your top ten picks and that the DnD line is really spectacular. In addition to a lot of the ones you mentioned, some of my favorites have been the Pirates Ride Treasure Skeleton, Caped Amazon Ashoka Tano, Amazon Winter Soldier, Slurpee dude, and Selena. The GITD Aang in the spirit world might just be my favorite of the year though - the execution was really excellent on that one. One line I thought was really great even though they might not be true “pops” was this year’s Boo Hallow set of pop-sized figures. We got a few of them for Halloween decorations and the detail and design of them are awesome and genuinely charming. Seeing them really makes me wish Funko would release more original designs from time to time like the old Fantastik Plastik lines. Happy new year! I’ve really enjoyed the channel this past year and look forward to what you’ll have this year too!
Glad to see Walrus & the Carpenter get some love. The whole series was amazing imo with Alice with Flowers being the best of the best. So bright and colorful and perfectly captures the moment.
One of my favorite pops from this year was the con exclusive Atom with the miniature Atom sharing a stand. It just looks so cool. Definitely think this was a pretty good year for Funko
Great awards show! I really like the Pinocchio line that came out this year but I think it got overshadowed by Alice in wonderland. It always feels good to have some of the pops that are nominated and even better to have some of the award-winning pops. Can't wait to see what they reveal this year, the sky is always the limit. Can't wait to see what you get into this year also CP😀
I always toss around a list of my favourites... but one Pop that surprised me, that I think is my #1 favourite of the year? Warduke. Others Pops worth mentioning: Leech and Snake Man-at-Arms...and comic Hawkeye! He's SO good. Just perfect. Not sure why I love that look so much, not a favourite character or anything. Also... the Cobra B.A.T. So glad they made them. Happy 2022! I mean, as close as you can get. 🎆💖
I love the Warduke pop as well. One of the reasons I made D&D the best. He's underrated really, don't hear much hype about him because Tiamat and Mimic steal the spotlight but warduke is awesome and he has the best D20 with him.
great list, i agree with a lot of your picks, especially the D&D line. even if you aren't a fan of the game, it's hard to argue with how amazing the pops have been turning out. I would've preferred a standard chest mimic though personally, but that aside i love the series.
I adore the attention Funko has been giving D&D over the past few years with pops of iconic monsters and mascots for the franchise, still waiting on the Vecna preorder to show up on the GameStop Canada site. Plus collecting the pops aids in my collecting of dice too.
@@CollectingPlastic They have the same quality as the standard mass produced resin dice that a lot of game stores carry, the logos in the 20 and 1 spots are a nice touch too.
I'm actually surprised it doesn't bother me, something like that usually would. But I think it's a subtle enough change that it doesn't stick out on first glance. They didn't change proportions or positioning of the well known design, just updated the rendering some. Doesn't bother me really. Not like when they changed the box for the Rock Candy, now that was a nail in the coffin for that line of figures.

I only have or have had a very few glow in the dark pops, but the Radioactive Mr. Burns in the hospital gown standard pop is a great example of GITD done well. He glows at a good level and the figure is still quite detailed while glowing. Most times GITD seems to go overboard and drown out the figure, but not in this instance
I'm so glad that Nejire made it in the honorable mentions. I love the characte, I think her pop came out fricking amazing and BnHA is my favourite TV show but she never released in my country and now she's worth a fortune 😭
Lot's of damaged Nejires too so getting aa nice intact one is even harder. I do feel funko will come out with another version of her though, like 99% positive they will actually haha
Some of my favorites from this year that you didn't mention (no judgment, just thought I'd add to the conversation) were the new comic Darkseid (which is the most improved IMO), the post-credit scene Scarlet Witch, The Watcher, Ahsoka from the Mandalorian, Echo from the Bad Batch, Thanksgiving Parade Balloon Grogu, and Captain Carter on the Hydra Stomper. As far as series, my favorites were Wandavision, The Bad Batch, and What if..?!
Great list!! I agree with most of it. I’m kinda partial to Star Wars so the bounty hunters connecting set is a favorite even if they’re not all out yet lol.

I only bought three pops this year, but let me tell you how much i love my Ratchet and Clank ones, they translated so well in funko pop form, It was a pain in the ass looking for them in Europe since It was an American exclusive, but i'm glad i didn't give up, now they're my desk buddies. Only negative thing Is that they are really top heavy and they fall very easily, especially Ratchet since he has giant ears. If you are a fan of the characters i higly raccomend them
I agree the Dungeons ans Dragons is my favorite line of all time, the detailing and the colors and the different colored dice that come with each figure is different and unique. NECA is making two Dungeins and Dragons figures that are coming out in march!!! Also Happy New Year!!!!!
I don't have a lot of pops from this year but I did get Papa Emeritus 1 which looks amazing in Funko's style of figures. Same with Winnie The Pooh in the honey jar
My 3 favourite Funko Pops of the year are DJ Miles (I love the design), President Loki and T'Challa Star Lord. I also love the Year Of The Shield Winter Soldier. The best series in my opinion is Spider-Man Miles Morales.
Abbernaffy and his followers lashed out at Funko over that Galactus pop lol. I made Marvel Zombie customs a year before official ones came out and didn't cry foul , same with the Trailer Park Boys set I made like 3 years or so ago. It's not as he invented the galactic paint style and it's not like they saw his custom and cracked a whip at the factory and copied him.
When I was in college, in a class of about 50, it was not uncommon for several students to come up with a similar design solution for the assignment. Now imagine upping that number up to every custom artist out there AND funko's designer? It's bound to happen. It's what I immediately thought of when I saw this Galactus vs the Abbernaffy one. Both good, I'd say Abbernaffy's is better.. But did Funko rip him off? Probably not.
I think my favorite pop of the year is the day of the dead blue beetle pop. He is the best pop from that line. Even without the DOTD paint apps it would still be an amazing pop
I gotta say I do think yhe Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon pop figure was really well done. Looks amazing, really nice size, overall a solid one. Probably my favorite, though I don't collect to many anyway.
I will definitely say that PoP! Collecting for me in 2021 was the slowest since I started collecting almost 10 years ago. However, when Funko got it right this year they really surpassed expectations. I am very excited for what 2022 will show. I have a feeling after LA Comic Con having a Batman TAS Two-Face. I think that anticipated 3rd wave is coming in 2022. Also, I am investing in the new Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six set because the Doc Ock looks beautiful. I think that is going to be a set that looks perfect when completed.
I'm not a big fan of the show but I really like how they remade the Powerpuff Girls in flying stands but each stand has its colour. And the pops themselves already look great even tho they are just the same as in 2016 I think
It's a pretty good list, but the Calendar Go Exclusive Glow In The Dark First Appearance Super Saiyan Goku should've been on the list! Seriously, that Pop is incredible and it's glow is insane!
It is nice but I felt it was too similar to other DB pops funko has made before. Like if it were the first time seeing something like it then yeah. My opinion though.
You say you understand for the kids why they didn't put "drink me" on the bottle the Alice pop is holding, but then immediately start talking about how the caterpillar should have his hookah..
Nice choices and I love the Dale Earnhardt ride and yes I have him Happy New Year. Oh I need both the Demon Slayer love that last one and I need him. I did get the Mini Nezuko from Box Lunch

damn about a week ago I found that Armored Samurai Jack at Target but I left it because it was missing the sticker and I didn't know it was a chase. I really liked it and just should've grabbed it for me. But I was looking for a Christmas present for my nephew. Im an idiot he would've loved it too

Wasn’t the three headed blue eyes white dragon a 6 inch pop? Just like the dbz shenron it makes a cool piece that even if I’m not the biggest fan, I can appreciate the detail in both figures

Yeah, the details on Strahd are excellent. He's overshadowed by a couple of the other pops in the D&D line but he's better than most line's best pop.

Haha the dice really is a nice touch. Do they feel a lot cheaper than other dice or are they cool? I have not taken mine out of the box yet.

Some of my favorites from this year that you didn't mention (no judgment, just thought I'd add to the conversation) were the new comic Darkseid (which is the most improved IMO), the post-credit scene Scarlet Witch, The Watcher, Ahsoka from the Mandalorian, Echo from the Bad Batch, Thanksgiving Parade Balloon Grogu, and Captain Carter on the Hydra Stomper.
As far as series, my favorites were Wandavision, The Bad Batch, and What if..?!

I only bought three pops this year, but let me tell you how much i love my Ratchet and Clank ones, they translated so well in funko pop form, It was a pain in the ass looking for them in Europe since It was an American exclusive, but i'm glad i didn't give up, now they're my desk buddies. Only negative thing Is that they are really top heavy and they fall very easily, especially Ratchet since he has giant ears. If you are a fan of the characters i higly raccomend them
I've seen them in person, my friend has them. I do agree that they came out very nice.
I agree the Dungeons ans Dragons is my favorite line of all time, the detailing and the colors and the different colored dice that come with each figure is different and unique. NECA is making two Dungeins and Dragons figures that are coming out in march!!! Also Happy New Year!!!!!

I don't have a lot of pops from this year but I did get Papa Emeritus 1 which looks amazing in Funko's style of figures. Same with Winnie The Pooh in the honey jar
Those are good, the very first one they released made it on one of my top tens of the year.

My 3 favourite Funko Pops of the year are DJ Miles (I love the design), President Loki and T'Challa Star Lord. I also love the Year Of The Shield Winter Soldier. The best series in my opinion is Spider-Man Miles Morales.

Abbernaffy and his followers lashed out at Funko over that Galactus pop lol. I made Marvel Zombie customs a year before official ones came out and didn't cry foul , same with the Trailer Park Boys set I made like 3 years or so ago. It's not as he invented the galactic paint style and it's not like they saw his custom and cracked a whip at the factory and copied him.
When I was in college, in a class of about 50, it was not uncommon for several students to come up with a similar design solution for the assignment. Now imagine upping that number up to every custom artist out there AND funko's designer? It's bound to happen. It's what I immediately thought of when I saw this Galactus vs the Abbernaffy one. Both good, I'd say Abbernaffy's is better.. But did Funko rip him off? Probably not.
My number 1 is definitely 4th Gear Luffy. That to me was the coolest looking and super accurate to the show.

I think my favorite pop of the year is the day of the dead blue beetle pop. He is the best pop from that line. Even without the DOTD paint apps it would still be an amazing pop

I gotta say I do think yhe Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon pop figure was really well done. Looks amazing, really nice size, overall a solid one. Probably my favorite, though I don't collect to many anyway.
I will definitely say that PoP! Collecting for me in 2021 was the slowest since I started collecting almost 10 years ago. However, when Funko got it right this year they really surpassed expectations. I am very excited for what 2022 will show. I have a feeling after LA Comic Con having a Batman TAS Two-Face. I think that anticipated 3rd wave is coming in 2022. Also, I am investing in the new Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six set because the Doc Ock looks beautiful. I think that is going to be a set that looks perfect when completed.
You know, you may be on to something there with a third wave. Need a Ridler. Would like a ventriloquist too!

I'm not a big fan of the show but I really like how they remade the Powerpuff Girls in flying stands but each stand has its colour. And the pops themselves already look great even tho they are just the same as in 2016 I think
They are a little different than the originals but the stands do put them above and beyond, very good idea to colorize them.
My favourite Deluxe of the year is Gamer Rex from Toy Story

It's a pretty good list, but the Calendar Go Exclusive Glow In The Dark First Appearance Super Saiyan Goku should've been on the list! Seriously, that Pop is incredible and it's glow is insane!
It is nice but I felt it was too similar to other DB pops funko has made before. Like if it were the first time seeing something like it then yeah. My opinion though.
You say you understand for the kids why they didn't put "drink me" on the bottle the Alice pop is holding, but then immediately start talking about how the caterpillar should have his hookah..
I think most homes don't have a hookah in them. Most homes do have medicine bottles though.

damn about a week ago I found that Armored Samurai Jack at Target but I left it because it was missing the sticker and I didn't know it was a chase. I really liked it and just should've grabbed it for me. But I was looking for a Christmas present for my nephew. Im an idiot he would've loved it too

For the bts line, I missed out on the seven pack but I did get V’s because he’s my bias and it’s an incredible pop!
I like that d&d pops now come with a d20 and the are all different colors and detailed. Also funny with Tiamat they had to put the dice above their heads.

Totally agree with Tanjiro with water dragon but on mine specifically the hair highlights look like a mess. also I think Infinite Deku should have placed in the top 10 and the 10 inch category.
