Dr. Carr is the reason I went back to get get a second degree in American History/African American Studies. I first heard him on Roland Martin a few years ago and have been following him every since. I love his love and enthusiasm for our history and young people.
I so appreciate you Karen for having Dr Carr. I listen to him on Roland Martin daily show. We must continue to support and educate ourselves with Black News daily 💕💕💕
Thank you Dr. Carr for this knowledge. The miseducation of the negro opened my third eye and expanded my consciousness greatly and that the ancestors got my back 🙏🙏
I wished OUR educator's would invest in summer academy's. The studies should cover real world subjects like: Money management, credit, property ownership, ethnic healthcare, sex ed, business ownership upper management, social media, black history, expose them to the unsung six figures plus careers. These topics plus what they learn in school could make our children more well rounded.
What of science such as biology and chemistry or law and government...There are many African Americans who are scientist as well...If we are going to create a brighter future for the next generation we need to have many career paths play a part in contributing to society from multiple levels (teachers, lawyers, medical professionals, scientist, engineers, entrepreneurs, investors, media creators etc) We should produce the next generation of intellectuals across the board...because if we don't we will here the same age old complaint ”We don't have a enough black people doing this and that”...
so many gems in this episode!!! i watched it immediately just because of who BUT I'm gonna have to watch it again to take notes and look up some of the names dropped. my shopping cart is already growing because of the books that were mentioned!! Thank You So Much!!!!
You read my mind!!! My daughter is 16 last year we started talking about colleges and Howard was one... I’m so ashamed but I just found out about Dr.Carr... I said you got to take his class... or anything he has to offer!!!!!!
Korean beauty supplies have been known to exploit the labor market, they pay next to nothing for labor while black businesses like Bronner brothers who are us based cannot take advantage of the same markets. Korean have also been known to overcharge black owned beauty supplies to drive them out of the market.
Being part of Knubia, I’m realizing daily that there is so much more we need to know and relearn, prof Hunter and Dr. Carr I’m eternally greatful for what you’re doing. Thanks professor Hunter. I appreciate you. Continued blessings to you

The Professor is teaching me so much that school omitted, and that I've always been fascinated to learn on my own. Your show is a behemoth of information! Loyal listener for a long time!
REPARATIONS ARE THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS. Its more than just important to black America. REPARATIONS is the beginning to a culture of SOLUTION and solving problems instead of pushing problems to the next generations
As a POC I'm not concerned about the shortest month being a Black History month. Why complain? What I want to know is why if Dr. Martin L King's BD is in January, why don't we celebrate Black History Month during his birth month?Thank you Karen for your discussion about who is black or not black.
KNOWLEDGE in knowing your history leads to powerful impact when healthy, appropriate strategic actions and plans are efficiently executed. I visited the first HBCU (in West Virginia, USA 🏔 🇺🇸) earlier today for the first time and was floored by the history of what is now part of the National Park Service. Issues of funding back then are still relevant today in 2020!! Blessings to everyone... #NigerianLibrarian
If you accept the one- month Black history rule, then 🤷🏽♀️. Learn and pass along Black history whenever and wherever you can get it. Black history is every day, all day!!!
I wish we could share info on who actually support our businesses versus who doesn't or whom we think doesn't. That positive take would be more inspiring. I definitely support our businesses, especially in hair and makeup.

Speaking to the caption. POC are nearly 90% of he world population.. Our history IS world history. Our remains and some projects have been found on most continents. Black History is world history. What art, which is our proof, and that could not be brought back to collective European museums was destroyed. That which could not be destroyed was deemed a mystery un-attributable to us as a people. "Black" simply means not white. Not them, the 10%. Otherly. We pushed for a month when we are "all the years". We did not stumble out of Africa scraping our knuckles with the best and brightest transforming into this upright positioned 10%. We too intentionally left our continent as explorers, tradesmen, trading perhaps, things as well as people, colonizers, warriors, in search of conquest, priest, scientist, even pirates etc. Until we accept the obvious common sense reality of this as a people, we will think of ourselves as minorities, behave as minorities, accept what a minority should ... conquer ... mentally, settling for a month. Here's the thing. White is black. DNA can not distinguish race. You this. Right? They are us. We made them us. Modern humans. You can find an African ethnicity or this planet that, in appearance could be any of them. Not vice versa. Ambiguous ethnicity simply means anything but that 10%. You don't have to really think hard about this. "They" document this in every science. America is not even 275 years old. Look at the ethnicity of our cities, states, the country, down to our military. The Moors were in Spain and Portugal 800 years. Generously, allowing our Asian brethren come and play. They did not ride horses into Europe. They sailed. After 800 years the Spanish sailed to the Americas without a single sailor carrying African blood? The Queen of England wealth is calculated using Canada and Australia, literally, as her major properties! America would have been included had it not been for a war. It's her best interest that the world continues to seek mis-education...10 -1 ain't good odds. Um done with this.
Black history month should be in the month of June. Why I don't understand is why African Americans don't change the month instead of complaining every year
Answer: So that we don’t have to put up with blacks’ winging for longer than is necessary. Personally, I’d just as soon get rid of the bizarre practice altogether.
keramarie1994 I’m going to assume you’re not black which is why you’re asking that question with an exclamation mark. Buuuuut if you must know! If you were lied to about your lineage and where you come from for a century and someone has hard evidence that what has been taught to you and your ppl was a big lie, wouldn’t you want to know? Or are you ok with being lied to and continuing a lie
Fearless Commander I am black. And I know what you’re talking about very well. I have heard and listened to Dane Calloway....lol. Listen, my point is it really doesn’t matter if we were here already or not, look where we stand now. We need to move from where we are currently at. Even if 100% of black amerikkans were 100% indigenous and we learned that religiously, it still wouldn’t change that fact that our people were massacred and we are a minority in this bs country. Places like where I currently reside are overrun by Caucasoids, hence a piece of physical evidence that we are outnumbered in North America. So what is the point? What can we actually do with that knowledge? IMO nothing. It doesn’t matter anymore.
keramarie1994 i never mentioned Dane Calloway. I’ve done my own research and i have my own family documents courtesy of the US government. To your point that it doesn’t help get us out of this predicament that’s we’re in now, i believe it does because if we understand the truth from the beginning we’ll know what to fight for and how to properly structure a black agenda and follow through. That’s like telling me i can be rich by following these particular steps but those steps are an actual lie and you let me continue using those lies to form my life around without telling me the truth...and i continue to implement those steps thinking I’m going to get rich but it never happens.
