Hi Austin, I found this on Craigslist Vancouver this week. It's very cool. I remember seeing the TOL in '05 and it baffles me too. The mechanism in mine is the same as the later ones only the motor pulley and the addition of the pre-pump solenoid are the only differences. That's the big "clunk" you hear and the buzzing before it does the neutral drain.
Hi there, my family have the exact same washer when I was a little girl in the 70s and I still love this washer so much! How I wish I can get my hands on this one. Can you make another video of this washer with the original 2-piece agitator on full cycle? Thank you so much for posting this great classic washer!
Fridgidaire bought out what was left of White consolidated industries, mainly Westinghouse appliance division, the transmission design can be found in Tappan, Amana and Frigidaire names, now under Electrolux!
And another difference is that the motor does not sound like the later models. Even that does not stop me from enjoying this washer. Please try to post more videos of this washer when you get the chance.
Mark Hannan: It does operate exactly like the NORGE washers with the neutral drains and very lengthy spray rinses. That spray rinses seemed to last the entire first spin just about. The only thing different about this machine is the lid lock feature that activates during the spin and the draining. The lid unlocked during all other cycles though including fill and agitation.
It is a bit late but I just watched this video and wanted to say that we have the same one and still working until today, I maintain it my self several times, currently need to remove the agitator but did not succeed...
38 years and still going. Is this gem still working now that it's 2019? FYI any washing machine made after 2010 (with the confusing idiot buttons) will not last you but a few years. Im glad I just got a 2000 kenmore washer. It will be easy to fix if something goes wrong.

That's true Rodrigo. The straight vane agitator belongs to the Westinghouse. Even the 5 vane agitator in my White Westy fits this too.

Yes, so there are 2 agitators in there! I have also 2 others that fit this machine as well.

That Westinghouse reminds me of a norge because it has a neutral drain kind of like the Montgomery wards washer

That's very well thought of.. Very cool!
Keep up the good work! :D

Hi Eddy!
So if you take out the agitator, you get some sort of 'delicate' agitation? That's well thought of!
Great washer :)
...And a neutral drain!

Does the drum index at all during the wash/rinse cycle?
nice washer I heard the transmission on these washeres have a comon oil leak problem
@frezzalata The blue one was much better, you are right!
@eddy1210I find that the agitation with the blue agitator was way better than the with one. Am I correct?
Do you still have this washer? I'd like to see a full cycle. Today it's just another Frigidaire.
Jerome Davis Actually the Frigidaire is just another Westinghouse.
This agitator was for delicate items, nylon blouses, slips, bras and panties, Certain baby clothing. Not for manly things...perfect for danties!!!!
it is beating all the clothes up RAWR
Do you know exactly what year Westinghouse washers switched to spin drain? It was in place by 1974.
Yes it does, but not very strong, I know it's a little hard to tell in the vid.
Does the agitator of toplaoders damage the clothes ?
Wow.. washing machine pr0n.
