Another Subnautica? But in space? Who wants this? Me!! I loved the first SubNaut and I love space games so this has potential. Thanks for sharing this game. I'm getting the demo now.
Wasn't 100% sold on the demo but more encouraged by the early access offering will add to Wishlist but my queue is a bit full right now to be able to play it
Oh, cool! I enjoyed watching you play this in its preview state. I liked the look of the game mechanics and how they used the story to drive/guide exploration - Without looking too deeply, balance looked at least OK in the preview - Nice to see you giving it another spin now it is in (or very near) EA 👍
I love watching others play this, and never know how they will do. But I guess you sort of hinted how you started 😁 (Eventually, you will build a battery charger. Eventually.) Don't forget to collect the trees under the dome for food!
8:00 Oxygen Capsule gives 30 seconds more air when equipped. 21:12 Beat it. Just beat it. You better run, you better do what you can. Don't wanna see no blood, don't be a macho man. You wanna be tough, better do what you can. So beat it, but you wanna be bad. Just beat it (beat it), beat it (beat it). No one wants to be defeated...
Sometimes you just need to look past the silliness of Devs because the game is fun. I know it could be called carbon or something else, but I just accept that space trees existed.
@@surtrplays Yeah I just found it somewhat amusing. It could be explained away as the word coal simply being a future idiom for carbon. So it's nothing that can dent the games enjoyability Thanks for the playthroughs btw.
Actually, 75% of asteroids (C-type) contain organic carbon (organic means compounds of carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen, not alien trees). Coal rock, technically speaking, is just a carbon-rich mineral. You may call it "carbon ore" if carbon is what you are after. Any life form doesn't have to be involved in its formation. Even more, most comets contain hydrocarbons, which could be considered as "crude oil". So there's nothing wrong with describing an exceptionally carbon rich asteroid as "coal".
Looks like a fun game but the cutscenes leaves me with so many questions. Were you the only person on that large ship? It seemed to shut down so why take an escape pod? I mean had to be better tools or parts on the ship right?😅 I mean if we saw it explode it all make sense
Before the next video are you allowed to show us the road map? As I noticed on the main menu and it would be good to see what’s in the game and what’s due to come?
The game looks great - amazing graphics/artwork. A 3 dimensional version of Planet Crafter (which I currently play). My sense of direction in 2 dimensions isn't always good, so in 3 dimensions? I can see I might die quite a few times to start with! I'm certainly going to look at getting the game.
Looks interesting, if a bit out of balance with all that manual crafting of each sub-part of a sub-component. I haven't seen your demo gameplay, but I hope there is some more gathering automation vary soon. Otherwise this will be mega grind to build even a starter base.
I played an early demo, see how the release version will be. Do short targeted trips at the beginning, as Planet Crafter and Breathedge (among others). XD
I can imagine playing a game, adding this to Subnautica. With lore that intertwines and timed day phases. You converse with yourself. One stays with their escape pod, communicating with the other as you explore your environment. One trapped in space among alien debris fields and asteroids harvesting everything they need, the other trapped planetside needing to weather terrible storms, isolation and unfriendly wildlife. Your goal? To get both to reunite. One with an orbital rocket, the other with a spaceship that can pluck them out of orbit safely and get them back to the space hab, where you can choose to live in space together, go back planetside long term, or you pool your data and hope you got the data package for a jump drive trip home.
@@surtrplays I figure the storyline goes, one sister stuck in space, one planetside, the space one struggles more with basic survival and salvaging stuff and trying to become an expert at space design and construction while dealing with possibly unimportant or critically important ancient ruins of alien origin, like crashed ships or figuring out FTL. Planetside girl has to find the most basic of resources but had ample air and food resources, but will struggle with megafauna and horrific weather that drives her to live subsurface. And you exist, in geostationary orbit, in radio range of each other's escape pods, in radio contact but without any aid. And being stuck in space, without communication? They promise to take turns exploring the world around them. Every time you rest in your pod, you swap to the other perspective.
@@surtrplays I found the demo and played it for a couple of hours. Unfortunately the save files are corrupted (probably intentionally) so this limits what you can do with the demo. If you leave the active game you can't restart it again after exiting the demo. Still - I liked what I saw in the demo and its a lot more friendly than Stationeers which seems to go out of its way to piss new starters off and is very unfriendly... You literally start in a crater for some god damned reason just to make it difficult to get the boxes off the lander and onto level ground. 🤷♀ Stationeers seems deliberately masochistic whereas Astrometrica doesn't. I did find that flying isn't towards were the cursor is pointed though but some point above it! You have to deliberately aim low to get were you want to go! 😠A minor annoyance but I don't get why the direction of flight would not be where the cursor is pointed at? Is this parallax from the pov and the persons body or something?
It irks me that the game calls it coal, in order for coal to be in space, a rock would have had to have hit a planet the harbored early life nearby. It needs to be called Carbon!
@@Tiny_420 One of them. There are quite a few updates coming out this month on games that I enjoy. Unfortunately, with Techtonica being abandoned, public interest has dropped.
Alot of people have been asking for a refund, since alot of the game changed with the recent update.. The discussions on stream don't seem to lead to the fame being abandoned.. Just alot of snowflakes that can't handle change..
This ends far too soon😢. Already finished watching most of your series playlists. Im disappearing for a while so i can binge watch a whole series later
the world looks nice, the game itself looks very basic (at least the beginning). I'd need to dive in to the content to see how deep it is but just like other similar games either in space or otherwise it looks like a grind for materials, and a crafting menu hell needing wire to make electorics to make ... but it's early access, they might improve on the crafting interface, clicking through (back and forth) deeper down into necessary recipes of sub-parts... it has potential, but at this point its still a bit plain.

SUBNAUTICA IN SPACE!!! even the modules look the same lol. Im looking forward to your next vid on this game as well as Sub 2 next year.
Very cool. I'm am also looking forward to Subnautica 2.
Looks interesting, ever since I 100% Subnautica along with Below Zero I've been trying to find games like em, Leviathans are my PTSD
reminds me of WarpedSpace 😮 and Subnautica
Was going to post the same comment :D

Definitely something I'll wanna look at when I get a better video card!

A few games inspired this one.

The roadmap looks really positive. Major automation coming.
In the demo items like food, etc didn't even stack. It looks like they all stack now according to this video.

I'm fascinated by the concept of space coal.
That means there must have been space trees a long times agone
