    If you let the grounds dry overnight a quick tap with a spoon causes them to drop out.

    Thank you. I was filling my pods like it was an expresso tamping nice and tight. It would make a mess outside my machine every time.

    so the area where a normal pod sits can be removed on some models for a bitter fit there should be a few tabs if yours can be removed that hold it in place and it will come loose with a little bit of force (if you don't find there is any tabs you might not be able to remove yours ) that should allow you to get a better fit

    There is an arrow on the cup itself to show you were to line it up and your lid will close all the way, turn it until it closes tight the flat part should be facing down. In my Keurig elite it does anyhow. Hope this helps.

    I just started using the refillable pod on my machine and found the same problem but i didn't want to pour all the grounds in sink so i tap it a few times rather hard on inside of trash can then rinse remainder in sink. I literally just tried another way and it gets prety much all into trash, after thee taping in trash, i carefully use a spoon to loosen remainlitter. Just dont go rough with spon or it migt break filter screen

    I've found that not all the pods out there fit all the coffee makers well. I have a Keurig Mini and for the Keurigs I find that the Eko Brew filter works best
    Don't know about others.

      You are right; I have a few types and the ones with thicker plastic lids don’t let the coffee maker lid close properly. I’ll check out the Eko Brew filters.

    About two years ago I bought a new full size Keurig coffee maker that came with their reusable coffee pod. You remove the original pod holder, put their reusable coffee pod “it’s holder” is cone shaped. No mess at all. I’ve tried the one that you use, didn’t use the coffee that you used, coffee over flowed. 👍for what you done.

      I respect your personal taste for the coffee; but that brand is Italian and it’s the famous coffee they use to make those unique CAPPUCCINO in Italy, I use that brand or “Lavazza espresso” which is an Italian coffee and also delicious 😉

    These reusable k-cups should match a regular k-cup and not have a filter mesh on the sides. It allows water to go out without going through the grounds and getting the most flavor.

    • @jumpinjason
      @jumpinjason  6 месяцев назад +1

      Interestingly it seems the pressure from the machine pushes the grounds to the sides of the filter during operation, even the official Keurig reusable cup has the mesh on the sides. But I agree, why wouldn’t they just design it with a hole on the bottom like the plastic cups create? Maybe it has to do with the pressure and they have to account for different grinds.

    • @rgruenhaus
      @rgruenhaus 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@jumpinjason yeah, even just a mesh on the bottom would work best.

    There is an adapter you use wit these. You have to take out the insert under the lid and replace it with the adapter. I have it. Works great.

    I just recently bought the instant pod plus 3 in1, been using it 3 times daily minimum about 3 weeks as of june 4 2023, works great, nice hot brew, for both the nespresso original pod side and the keurig pod side. I realy like i can use refillable pods on both sides. I just ordeed the stainless steel refillable keurig pod, im curious if you bought and tried one and what your thoughts are about it.
    Thanks great and helpful video, that you get right into what the video is about.

    Your info. was very helpful but using the10 oz. size makes a coffee that is very watered down & extremely weak. also, you say the finer the ground the better, but is it not true that if a grind is too fine, the coffee will be very bitter?

    • @jumpinjason
      @jumpinjason  6 месяцев назад

      I find the more fine the grind the more surface area exposed of the coffee bean so less brew time required to get a stronger / more flavourful brew. The water is forced through the filter quickly so a finer grind produces the same flavour a traditional gravity fed coffee pot would with a more coarse grind. Experiment with different grinds to see what flavour you prefer. A coarse grinds create too watered down and weak coffee in the pods for my taste.

    • @cheesecakepie1
      @cheesecakepie1 5 месяцев назад

      @@jumpinjasonI try to grind between 15-20 seconds. that seems to be just about right.

    I have the same thoughts to put my coffee in. But my machine is a mini. It takes the same pod and mine closes all the way I mean tight sometimes I need a knife to lift it up. Maybe I got a different kind and it's purple but I ordered the same brand name as my coffee pot. I'm sorry yours doesn't close correctly that's a shame and coffee pots aren't cheap

    I saw another clip where they needed to change out the adapter sleeve in the machine before being able to use this reuseable k-cup. Did you have to do that, or is your machine set up the same as if you would use a normal disposable k-cup ?

    • @jumpinjason
      @jumpinjason  11 месяцев назад

      The official reusable one from Keurig you need to remove the sleeve but with these you don’t. Just use as a regular K-Kup.

      We use the filters from Wal Mart/Amazon that fit inside the pods! Tap the closed filter a few times in your sink after use to remove most of the used grounds from the underside of the lid. Very few if any grounds are left in the pods. Most will be in the filter to dispose of in your garbage.

    • @jumpinjason
      @jumpinjason  Год назад

      Oh that’s a great idea! And you could compost the filters after as well.
      I’ve actually switched to fully compostable K Cups now. No name brand are great. Just put the whole thing in the compost after brewing.

    Do you use a medium coarse or finer grind for your coffee?

    • @jumpinjason
      @jumpinjason  11 месяцев назад +1

      I use a fine grind. As long as you don’t overfill the pod it makes a better cup than a course grind in my experience. Course grind makes it not strong enough.
