I must also clarify that you will want to ev train your pangoro to have over 198 speed! This will allow it to outspeed sinistea after weak armor activated allowing you to re taunt it, if taunt wears off!
I’ve just been using a Prankster Grimmsnarl with Trick TWave Taunt and Throat Chop holding a Sticky Barb so when I find the shiny I can lower the HP relatively safely.
Here’s my take on this. The triple spawn idea is great in theory but finding those 2nd and 3rd authentics may take multiple times longer than the 1st one you found. I actually found a shiny phony Sinistea 2 hours into searching for the 2nd antique spawn so I decided to give up and just hunt the single spawn. I am confident I could easily find an antique shiny in my single spawn in the time I would use up setting up the 2nd and 3rd spawns. I hope this makes sense. But amazing information, thanks for this as it helped me a lot!
I understand where you’re coming from! In the end, it’s all just rng. I typically like to put more time into the setup just to have the hunt be quicker. It worked out for me as I went over 5000 encounters for the authentic sinostea to be shiny! If you get the sinistea shiny quick though it definitely wouldn’t be worth it to spend more time on the setup!
@@ThedomiNATION Man I just eanted to reply to your comment and say thank you so much for this video. I ended up setting up 2 additional spawns afterall, which took me 24 hours and then I found the shiny antique Sinistea within 3 hours! I had a Pangoro handy to Taunt and False Swipe so I can catch it in a Love Ball but it failed, so I immediately threw a Masterball before it could use Memento. All in all it took about 1,000 encounters within 11 days on SwSh(with shiny charm) after 100 wasted hours in SV, with shiny charm too. Glad it's over and couldn't be happier :)
I'm now shiny hunting for authentic sinistea. Thanks for the tips. I already got a forgery one on 76 tries. Hopefully soon ill have my authentic one. And nice hat do you sell those? Because I would love to get one
You can also just use your own polteagiest. it can learn shadow ball for damage, and imprison and memento as well. You would still have to soft reset after the shadow ball PP runs out though if you get insanely lucky enough to chain it that far.
That’s a good strategy! But for me specially I wanted to catch the shiny authentic sinistea in a safari ball which are extremely hard to obtain in these games and I only had one shot so I needed something that could weaken it and then put it to sleep so I could guarantee it’s catch in a safari ball!
@@ThedomiNATION Since you did catch your shiny authentic sinistea now, I did wonder if it was a good idea to even try to use false swipe when the area is prone to hailing. Also, I am wondering, does every sinistea you encounter after the first one always be authentic? or if it isn't, does the game still keep spawning authentic ones after you KO a phony one in a chain?
@@goldmemberpb I made sure it wasn’t hailing when I would hunt for that reason. Also no matter what Pokémon spawns in, the Pokémon you KO has a 50% chance of spawning next. So if a phony spawns instead of an authentic and you don’t know and KO it, next spawn will likely be another phony and will almost never be authentic

Nope you don’t have to KO 500 sinistea! In fact, it was recently proven that KOing 500 of a certain Pokémon only increases the shiny chances if the Pokémon is a brilliant Pokémon. And paired with the encounter rate of brilliant Pokémon, your best odds would be to KO 100 Pokémon then only encounter the brilliant ones that spawn in! But either way, that’s not a viable for this particular hunt!
But I think you said that K.O a pkm will boost the spamming rate of it to 50%, so when shiny hunting some pkm with low or decent spamming rate like sinistea, better still K.O them to get more sinistea in the same area, which will also lead to higher chance of getting brilliant pkm
@@trunghoang362 because this method is drastically different than traditional overworld encounters. There’s really no point. Nope. For every overworld spawn, as soon as the Pokémon loads in, it’s fully generated already including shiny value. This is why when people hunt strong spawns, they start out of range of the Pokémon
@@ThedomiNATION Thanks for the kind reply at my noob question xD Anyway, with this method I found Phonie one and now I'm in front an authentic one again. @@VictorSHZ after doing about 3000 encounters of this I’ve come to learn that it’s not worth checking if they’re phony. Just assume it’ll be authentic as it’s more likely to be authentic anyway. Worst comes to worst and you phase once with a phony and get it the next time!
Even doing this, it’s still a 9.5% chance phony spawns in and since there’s no way to check it in the overworld, if you KO it then every sinistea that spawns in after will be nearly guaranteed to be phony. It matters slightly. KOing the authentic doesn’t make the next spawn guaranteed to be authentic. It makes the next spawn a 50.5% chance to be authentic sinistea. The rest of the 49.5% of spawns are the regular Pokémon spawns at half the original spawn rate.
