  • This video shows you how to find and locate the problem when you realize your Dyson vacuum isn't doing the great job it is known to do.
All the tools you need are a set of Torx Screwdrivers, but in this case a T10 and T8.
but don't forget you can get a replacement part off your local parts store or online, just search via Google and you just might get a cheaper part than the one I got. Please ensure you get a genuine part so you can be rest assured of a long lasting fix.

Outstanding video. Long, but that's what it takes to include the level of detail you did.

Excellent video, you (and Amazon) have enabled me to get my DC40 working again after 5 years. I tried to dismantle it myself unsuccessfully, but it is not intuitive how any of Dysons products come apart. Like you said, Dyson really ought to use better materials for the hoses. Thank you very much!

Just got a used DC40 for free. No suction to the floor unit. Unclogged the floor unit piece, still didn't work. I followed this video and have the same problem with a ripped hose. Thanks for this video! Hopefully I can get the part quickly and get this up and running.

Thanks for this. I found my daughters make-up brush stuck at the entrance to the hose!

Would be better (easier to hear and to follow your instructions) without the background music.
    Otherwise, great! Thanks!
