I like the simplicity of your solution. Good 'ol 555, aye ;-) What worries me a little is to make holes in the tank. Also, have you tested it on steep hills or mountain roads?
Hi, thanks. Yip the good old 555👍🏻 The holes in the tank are not something to worry about. Basic ss self tappers and they don't leak. The same approach is taken by other solutions like Madman and the little black box. I just find them over designed and costly for what I need. This is really a no fuss solution. Regarding the roads, I haven't had an issue yet. For that reason try to mount the probes on the side of the bottle where the water drop due to road conditions is a minimum. You can also put the probes lower into the bottle if required. The 5-secs delay will be more than sufficient for rocky terrain.
