It's very quiet and definitely alot more comfortable than when it was standard. But its still a Defender🤣, problem now is the rattles coming from the typical Land rover design, you know the noises you never heard before. As well as thr fear of not hearing other issues like on the drivetrain😉

Hey Chris. Really just the basics. Intercooler Exhaust decat and muffler delete. Intake, I used a cone filter, you can just pull the pipe between your filter box and side panel to reduce the restriction. Then I imported the alive remote remapping kit. Hope that helps.

Hi, not sure. I removed all the equipment I didn't use. ARB bullbar, winch and additional water tank. Added the sound deadening and larger wheels so overall I would assume in the region of around 40kg.

Depending on the colour you want, it can be anything from R250/m to R1000/m etc. Couldn't find a lot of places that had stock. I know Sullies fabric in Mayfair had a few colours on backorder but had no stock when I was there. The material was placed over the length of each panel as the width just didn't make it. So I ended up using close to 7m for the roof only. Did some of the smaller panels with the offcuts which helped.

Hey Brent thanks, agree the Terrafirma Spacers are better in that respect. I would expect the material quality to also be great. The 4x4 direct spacers have a chamfer around the wheel nuts essentially doing the same thing, so not too worried about being off-centre. If we look at the OD/weight of the spacers, the chances of vibration happening is very slim, probably have a better chance of having issues with the mud terrains. The big issues usually come from rust and dirt on the mating surface. Additionally when removing spacers always mark them up so you can reinstall them in the same rotation on the same wheel as previously to prevent any chance of inducing a wobble effect.

I followed your path regarding the sound proofing but finished mine before this video, now I see the extra light is a great idea 🫣. Brit parts in Pretoria have those fasteners for all the interior and ceiling parts

That's awesome, hope you are pleased with the result you got. For me, it's very notable every time I drive it. Still need to get one of those steel fasteners for the back trim piece🙃 will give them a call and see if they have stock. Adding the extra light in the middle row is quite easy just hard work to cut through the lining it is tougher than it looks😀

@@MdPcustoms thanks! I keep a Landy in Jhb but only come to SA twice a year so I started to redo my carpets but I just used the old felt at the time so wouldn’t mind replacing it. Did you get a company to make the front carpet though? Also keen to order those stainless trim sets, if you have a contact it would be great so I can order in advance and install them when I’m back in February.

I have a 2015 Puma Heritage and the remotes are basically in pieces. The remote looks like a D4 remote but only has two buttons to lock and unlock

From 2014 onwards it should be as simple as putting them back together and they should work again, I know you can buy casings on eBay and just replace the internals. Maybe see if you can get a d4 remote used and swap out the internals. Frank has a website with some basics kraxlr.de/facts.html#key But doesn't talk about the details of repairing.

Hey James, looking back now I think maybe the spring as a simpler option is worth it. I had the same issue with a low bite point but after swapping out the slave cylinder due to failure it was better. Redone the carpets in my vehicle now and with the extra thick felt at the bottom and sound-deadening material it also seems to bite quite low, helps to remove the rubber mats but still keep them in for trips. My wife manages to drive as is without complaining. Thanks for your feedback.

Hi, the Spring only assists to bring the pressure required to press on the clutch down. The gear engagement remains the same when changing gears. It is more enjoyable to drive with a lighter clutch pedal.

Hey bud. You can see a difference in brightness in front of the vehicle. Not a big difference in general at a distance. I connected the spotlights with the brightas and made a big difference around the front of the vehicle.

Hi, I also got the foam sheets from Pro Auto Rubber, it's an open cell sheet with a foil on top, I'm assuming you looking for sheets for the roof lining. I would probably rather recommend the 20mm closed cell foam sheets they sell, it's a bit more expensive but it will provide better heat and sound insulation for that purpose.

Anytime. Tuning won't damage anything when done correctly, that's why I worked with Alive because of their expertise with Defenders. Always tuned all my cars but you need to make sure you add the supporting hardware. The main thing is to keep exhaust gas temperature down and make sure the turbo operates within its curve. This requires Intercooler, exhaust (midsection removed decat) and air intake ( remove pipe between air intake and filter and add the performance air filter from Alive) this is the most important for running stage 2 software. More expensive going with Alive tuning but worth it. Been a massive improvement in drivability and feels like a new car worth every cent.
