When I was 12, and in an emotional funk after loosing my father a couple years earlier, my mother insisted I start to learn an instrument to channel my energies. She told me to make a decision what instrument I would play in band by morning. I went to my room, upset that I was being "made' to take lessons. Then URGENT came on the radio, and I knew instantly I wanted to play SAXOPHONE, after this solo. I played saxophone and trumpet all the way through high school and then heard Stevie Ray Vaughan. Now I play guitar, bass, keyboard, saxophone, harmonica, and trumpet. All because I really listened to THIS SONG back in 1981.
I was working at the concert stadium they played in 1982....in Southern California. They played along with Loverboy, Iron Maiden and The Scorpions. There was some seriously wasted folks in the crowd....all the bands killed it 🤟. Foreigner sounded great live.
No disrespect to today’s bands, but man, the 70’s and 80’s were the absolute pinnacle of great music. There isn’t a band today, that can touch Foreigner, or a TON of other bands of the era, like Journey, Van Halen, etc. It was a GREAT time to be alive, and YOUNG during those years. It wasn’t just music: it was books, it was movies, it was television. It makes me so very happy, when I see a young woman, like Bisscute, really enjoying, and dancing to songs like this. They truly are TIMELESS.
Agree. It would nicer if the actual bend was there. Only the guitar player from the OG lineup is present. You can tell because he's the oldest guy there.
Glad you enjoyed Foreigner. Basically they are a tribute band now. No original member perform most of the time. I've known the original singer Lou Gramm for 20 years. He still performs with his own band. Try Midnight Blue or Just between you and me.
Midnight Blue is one of those nostalgia songs that just feels like the best part of the 80's, right up there with Summer of 69', Oh Sherrie, and Living on a prayer, in my opinion.
'Urgent' is a Foreigner hit single from 1981 (their 4th album '4')... but in this 2010 Foreigner performance, only Mick Jones (guitar) played on the studio track... Foreigner in 1981 was Mick Jones (guitar), Lou Gramm (vocals), Rick Wills (bass) and Dennis Elliott (drums). Over decades, Foreigner (who debuted in 1977) w/ Jones, Gramm, Elliott... w/ Ian McDonald (keyboards/guitar), Al Greenwood (keyboards) and Ed Gagliardi (bass) ... Foreigner changed members frequently in the 90's and beyond... The main songwriters were Lou Gramm and Mick Jones, but the 2 didn't get along in later years and parted ways in the 2000's. Mick Jones (guitar) kept Foreigner going w/ new members - bassist Jeff Pilson (former Dokken bassist), and vocalist Kelly Hansen (former Hurricane singer) and others, seen in this clip... Foreigner recently announced a final tour. Foreigner's current singer Kelly Hansen got some fame as the singer of the rock band Hurricane ...in the 80's, they had some success, but split up in the 90's... reformed briefly, and then split again... Hansen took over vocals from Lou Gramm in Foreigner since 2005. U can check out the classic Foreigner tracks w/ Lou Gramm on vocals... All of Foreigner's biggest hits were sung by Lou Gramm - 'Cold as ice'... 'Double vision'... 'Waiting for a girl like you' ... 'Feels like the first time'... 'Head games'... 🔥🔥 Quite a few major rock bands do not have their classic singers performing w/ them anymore... Boston (the late Brad Delp), Journey (Steve Perry), Styx (Dennis DeYoung), Kansas (Steve Walsh), Yes (Jon Anderson), etc.
In my humble opinion, modern music will not stand the test of time. The stuff I grew up with has proven that classic rock, performed by true artist who can read and write music, play their own instruments, and sing without the use of audio enhancements, will continue. Bands like Foreigner, Styx, Journey, and Def Leppard have been rocking out for DECADES and are STILL touring. I have seen Def Leppard LIVE 7 times and Styx 10 times, and they have never given me a lack luster show. I recommend checking them out, Thanks to COVID lockdowns I have had time to watch a lot of reaction videos like your and have 'discovered' newer music and artists that are keeping rock and roll alive. NIGHTWISH, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, HALESTORM, and SABATON are among my new favorites. And leading the charge are the 3 young sisters from Mexico who rock like the old schooler's do, with an abundance of raw talent, charm, and passion. THE WARNING have given me hope that rock and roll will truly never die.
This reaction to Foreigner's "Urgent" and "I Was Made For Loving You" by Kiss are my favorites. Whenever I'm having a bad day I watch either of these two reactions and they completely change my mood. Your dance moves, mannerisms, laugh and smile are infectious. Here are some of my favorite saxophone songs: Quarterflash "Harden My Heart" (Rindy Ross is the Lead Vocalist and she plays the Sax). Gerry Rafferty "Baker Street". Sam Riney "Fire" (contemporary jazz).
I remember hearing their first album and I was hooked. So many great songs and albums. Bands always have to adjust do to circumstances. Kelly Hansen who took over vocals from Lou Gramm has kept the spirit of the band alive. His vocals, may not be Lou, but is very good. He respects the legacy, and that goes a long way. 😊😊😊
This is my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE Foreigner song, there's none better for me. If you want some other greats, you cannot go wrong with the immortal Juke Box Hero, that's rightly regarded as they're VERY BEST hard rock track, and they did some truly AWESOME classic power ballads, the top tier of course being I Want to Know What Love Is and Waiting For a Girl Like You.
Foreigner waaaooo I'm feel very old with his Band... This video is great his performance on stage live... But his hit song...for me is I want to know what love is Great great song... Its ok for Young lovers or a Valentine's day... Great rock Band ever... See You Soon Byyyeeee Suggest Spin Doctors with song... Two Princess Thanks
This is definitely on my list of favorite 80s songs of all time. Foreigner is an amazing group. Songs I definitely recommend are Say U Will, Cold as Ice, Feels Like the First Time, and Juke Box Hero. This is my favorite reaction so far. Love the dance moves and I can see u definitely like the sax. Awesome reaction Biss!!❤️🎸🎷
Biss, you should check out more Foreigner songs like Juke Box Hero and Cold as Ice. I have never seen them perform live, and this was great to see. I loved the energy you gave to the reaction and you sharing this with the rest of us.
Great thing to step into the world of Foreigner. Beside "Journey" this is the best Melodic Rock band of all time. And I also like Kelly Hansen as a singer, but like others already mentioned you should definitely listen to the original versions too. Lou Gramms voice were an important part of the success the band had back in the days. Other Foreigner songs worth listen to are: - Juke Box Hero - Waiting for a girl like you - Double vision - Hot blooded - I want to know what love is
Their first album "Foreigner" in the early 70's was outstanding and didn't have a single "filler". The original singer Lou Gramm sounded very similar indeed to the present vocalist but he had to deal with brain tumor surgery which then forced him to relearn how to sing; (which he did). He has done the occasional guest appearances with the group and he still sings great; not as powerful but still with the same passion and he is 72 years old. ruclips.net/video/84l50lOcch8/видео.html
I think Mick is the only member from their hits, all sung by you know who, Lou from Rochester New York. Met Lou's daughter volunteering at the Bowery Mission here Manhattan. Didn't bring up her dad her being a fellow Christian and putting it to action was all that mattered. Reflection of her upbringing. 😊
I never got the full vibe of this song until your reaction! You are just the Bestest! I loved your responses with the "urgent", the "emergency," AND the "oo ooos!" Just, wow! 💚 And, that doesn't even include your HAWT dancing!
I really enjoy watching your reaction videos! As good as this version was, if you can, please watch it with the original singer, Lou Gramm. You'll understand why :) If you are looking for other Foreigner songs, then obviously you will get recommendations for "I want to know what love is", "Waiting for a girl like you" or "Say you will. Might I suggest others such as "That was yesterday", or "Running the risk" or even "Double vision". I'm sure that you will enjoy them all!
Biscutte has the best energy of any reactor I’ve seen on YT and I’ve seen a LOT! Great work young lady! Please react to KISS live version “Detroit Rock City in Rutherford”🙏🏽🌹🙏🏽🌺
Funny I did mention this one but it was for songs with great Saxophone solos. Ironically you actually did it first before any of others. Do more Foreigner and ask your twitch community best next Foreigner reactions.

Firehouse, ok...but the only time anyone ever needs to hear Two Princes again is when they get to hell...they blast it through the PA down there, along with Life is a Highway, Black Velvet, and All-star...🤣
Hey there Bisscute .. great song choice , really good .. BUT , ... if you want to understand the greatness of Foreigner , you must react to the official video , or official audio of any of their great hits with Lou Graham on lead vocals. They band broke up , and Lou .. is why everyone loves Foreigner. Enjoy 🔥🔥🔥🎼💛🎼🔥🔥🔥
@Bisscute If you like rock saxophone so much, you have to listen to Madness, either "One Step Beyond" or "Night Boat To Cairo" would be perfect to start with.
This is a great live version of the song but I agree, you should have done the original studio version so you can hear exactly what we all heard when this song played on the radio. Experience this all together with the exact same sound. Not something 25-30 years later.
I'll give props to Kelly trying to do Lou Gramm justice but keep in mind that Lou can't do himself justice anymore. That stroke he had really did a number on him. 😔
I would. But I have, also, been a fan of Kelly Hansen since he fronted Hurricane. IMO, the are both great. I don't compare them. That would be stupid, they are two different people.
Foreigner is a legend, she has had many big hits and her songs are so lovely to sing along to. Guitarist Mick Jones is the last original member, but he rarely performs on a few songs, otherwise the band plays without him. But their shows are great, I was lucky enough to see them in the Olympia Hall in Munich, it's definitely worth seeing this band that wrote rock history live. Another great performance from this concert in 2010 ist Juke Box Hero. A very great classic Rock song. ruclips.net/video/Btco27B-gp0/видео.html
reacts to The amity Affliction, it is an Australian melodic metalcore band, it is one of the best in its musical genre, you will not regret it! if you do, I recommend "Dont lean on me", "greens avenue" or "pittsburgh" to start

I saw Foreigner and Journey many years back when they double headlined...awesome show😎🤘🤘🤘
I’ve been listening to Foreigner since the 70s. All of their music is really good.
So have I. I've, also, followed Kelly Hansen since then.
when this came out,you heard it blasting out of every 2nd car in the summertime..
I still love it whenever this song comes on the radio.
The most special thing about this video is the cowbell. We need more of it
It was my "first love" song for ROCK music, absolutly amazing song !!!
I love it when the Inner Bisscute, appears !! Great song, great reaction !!
I love your energy Bisscute. It is infectious.

Hello, The singer is doing a great job now, his voice sounds a lot better. God bless us all in 2023. 🎼🎶🎹🎵🎸.
Kelly Hansen SUCKS compared to Lou.
Love, love, love this song! Great reaction!
Considering how long it's been since they released this, they can still absolutely knock it out of the park! Mad respect!
Bisscute, you need to be reacting to studio versions and versions when many of the bands were younger. It will be worth it!👍
+1
I love this version.
Agree. It would nicer if the actual bend was there. Only the guitar player from the OG lineup is present. You can tell because he's the oldest guy there.
@@EnervatedSociety Plus, we get to listen to the great Lou Gramm in his prime. What a voice!!

This band was next level for their time. You would LOVE Waiting for a Girl Like You or I Want to Know What Love Is.
I am impressed that the vocalist's style sounds very much like Lou Gramm - inner purist satisfied.
Kelly Hansen has always been impressive.
The singer Kelly Hansen (* 18. April 1961 in London) is 61 years young at the moment! 😄
Kelly was born in Hawthorne, CA not London.
Foreigner is fire. As a saxophone player I like this reaction a lot.

Hey there Bisscute .. great song choice , really good .. BUT , ... if you want to understand the greatness of Foreigner , you must react to the official video , or official audio of any of their great hits with Lou Graham on lead vocals. Couldn’t agree more. This is almost a very good tribute act.
Exactly. Without Lou it is merely Mick Jones cashing in with a cover band.

I don't know how or what telegram is or how it works
Yes spindoctors would be fun
Not the original singer. He was in the band Hurricane in the 80's. Lou Gramm was the original singer
I see ❤
This performance was in the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. Many concerts have been filmed there, so it’s understandable that it looks familiar to you!🌷
More Cowbell! 😂😂😂
Sorry to say this... but if it´s not Lou Gramm singing, Foreigner its just a cover band of their own songs
I agree with this. After 2009 no new studio albums, since then only playing oldies.
