Completion to my original post Features for the battery indicator that make more sense for Steelseries to implement: - A 3 button press feature with the escape key included to indicate the battery level from F1 to F10 in 10% gradients without having to check the software. If they still want to keep the function of the blinking green color it should be activated on press, to indicate that it's charging; - Solid green light while charging, which would have reverted to the selected color once the cycle was complete; - Smooth gradient transitions rather than aggressive light green pings per every second; - Remove entirely the feature as it's not needed. You can observe the battery health within the GG software.

what a weird gimmick, wireless keyboard? why? your just adding another accessory to charge, there is no need for a wireless keyboard, it is a stationary device that has no need to move
Going for mini as more pros like it better. Never once have I encountered some who beat me with the wootong. Apex pro mini is ultra expensive but still awesome. Unbiased but it's the truth. Also I belive apex to be updating their software
@@TooMuchTech yeah but you said before the sound test that they sound similar but they don’t, and the sound test went for the apex like 20 sec and the wooting only 5 sec
@@De4dSp0t okay, well the wooting has way too many features which are not worth dropping just so I can change a sound. I don’t even hear the sound when gaming. If you come up with the argument that “you can have different keycaps and cases” and what not, (I’m not expecting this because you were talking about soldering) it’s a much better keyboard. I am someone who has a brother who makes custom keyboards, and I have a wooting myself. I can speak and say that wooting is better by a long shot, simply by rapid trigger itself. There are also other features like tachyon for example, but like I said, rapid trigger itself is enough to convince me to buy the wooting over a custom keyboard. So don’t knock it till you try it, get a wooting and try out all the features and see how you perform in games once you get used to it. You won’t turn back.
@sebastianjara.7332 well when it comes to price for relative performance, yes this is good. Stock build quality between the two isn’t that far off and unfortunately the wooting doesn’t really go on sale too often lol But the wooting still is a better keyboard, just by how much is the question. I’d probably it’s 20% better but I’m not sure if it’s worth another 40% more money for you
So you by yourself outscored the entire opposing team? No wonder you RUclipsrs and Twitch streamers hate SBMM. 🤣 I know, I know - "it's the lag". 😉 If Wooting’s rapid trigger feature is enabled via software, couldn’t Steelseries code their Apex Pro keyboards to perform rapid trigger as well?
@@TooMuchTech Willing to bet the players you curb-stomped in that match would beg to differ, lol. SBMM is fun to us mere mortal casual gamers who actually enjoy playing against opponents of similar skill. 😁 I hope the folks at Steelseries are smart enough to implement their own version of rapid trigger. A more easily obtainable keyboard than the 60he, with even more comparable features? Definitely a win for customers.

Dear consumers beware of purchasing Steelseries 2022 wireless keyboards and if you take a few moments to read this article, you will understand the theory that leads you to buy them and why you should avoid that at all costs so you don't find yourself in the same situation like me. Also, there is a message for Steelseries to take some notes for future untested releases launched in a hurry. I recently purchased a keyboard from Steelseries, the Apex Pro Mini Wireless but I had to return it because I couldn't accept the software errors it came with, especially since the list price is much higher than other commercial keyboards on the market. It's a shame because it's a well-balanced keyboard from a mechanical point of view, of the materials used, and it's a pleasure to use it for typing. Unfortunately, I didn't get to test it on the entertainment side because of certain errors and I still regret that I couldn't reach a compromise to avoid the return. I would like for them to solve the following issues from the software, which represent the reasons why I made the return: The battery, according to the software, lasts less than the specified time. The transition from 100% to 85% is done quickly, in less than an hour with the brightness kept at maximum, on the wireless function. It is not a factory defect or a software issue because I got a confirmation from 2 other people that tried this keyboard and stated that the battery fully depleted under 10h of usage. It's not designed to be used at maximum brightness! PLEASE STEELSERIES, DO SPECIFY THE BATTERY CONDITIONS OF USAGE, AS THIS IS VERY MISLEADING! You cannot completely disable the "Escape" key light manually or through software while charging in wired mode so that it no longer flashes with a different color than the rest, green. Also, once it is fully charged, 100%, the key stays lit in the respective color (Green Lantern Mode). This is specified in the user manual, but it should be a choice for the consumer and should permit the option to disable it in the software. Below I have attached 2 official photos from Rtings.com with the keyboard at maximum and minimum brightness. It is a distracting feature and basically you cannot use it wired due to the intensity of the key that stays lit at maximum brightness. Don't think this feature will be removed since it's designed that way and nothing was done since it was released, a few months ago. Since the battery doesn't last that long (a lot less than 30h with max brightness) you will find yourself in need to often plug the cable. The battery charging indicator is really a troublesome feature. It makes more sense for them to implement a 3 button press feature with the escape key included to indicate the battery level from F1 to F10 in 10% gradients without having to check the software and if they still want to keep the function of the blinking green color to include it there, but on press, to indicate that it's charging! i.rtings.com/assets/products/nlKpqxOP/steelseries-apex-pro-mini-wireless/brightness-max-large.jpg i.rtings.com/assets/products/GR7Ezkta/steelseries-apex-pro-mini-wireless/brightness-min-large.jpg Switching from idle to pairing on Bluetooth is not fast after entering the battery conservation mode, when the functions are closed. The color profiles for the lights do not remain set, if the connection with the dedicated software is lost. As long as the switch is made to another device where the software is not installed or supported, it will not allow them to be kept. To set the colors, the connection to the software is always necessary because only 5 light effects can be adjusted from the keyboard functions and it is not possible to select, for example, the color Orange or White (also recommended not to strain your eyes), reference colors associated with the Steelseries brand. Also, the effects cannot be set directly from the keyboard, present on previous models. For devices that come with IOS, the wake up function is not compatible, without the need to connect the USB-C receiver, for stability. Once one function on the key is replaced by another, from the software, the keyboard simply freezes and you have to switch it off and on. Also, in the reviews made by the online promoters, for this model, these aspects were not discussed, mentioned, and i wish that the respective information was more transparent because, after all, we are the consumers. Everything they mentioned negatively was related to the high price, stating the obvious. I would like Steelseries to do something about the user's choices in the software so that all settings can be saved on both Bluetooth / Wired / Wireless on a single profile and to be able to configure the effects and colors without depending entirely on the software. In their defense, the company does make quality products, though i don’t think they proceeded in the right way with the wireless variant, especially on the marketing side since they weren’t that transparent nor tried to fix some of the mentioned issues, since it was released. What's important is the action Steelseries should take after these constructive feedback. Also, I wish they offered a better support since I tried to contact them about this problems and got evasive responses. If you are unsure about this keyboard, undecided to buy it and wondering if some mentioned features, software issues have been fixed, that information can be checked here techblog.steelseries.com/ UPDATE 1: I bought another unit to test it more rigorously and after it was completely discharged it didn't want to charge overnight above 60%, it froze at that threshold! To fix this issue, I had to unplug and plug the wire! I want to mention that I had several keyboards from other manufacturers and so far I have not got my hands on any that had this many problems at once! I ENCOURAGE YOU TO STAY FAR AWAY FROM THE WIRELESS VERSION! I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL SINCE YOU WILL MOST LIKELY RETURN IT. ALSO, IF YOU FINALLY DECIDE TO GIVE IT A GO, DON'T THINK ABOUT TRYING YOUR LUCK WITH ANOTHER UNIT SINCE THEY ALL HAVE THESE PROBLEMS! I'm "GLAD" that instead of focusing on fixing these issues for products already released in the market and taking into account what other consumers are saying, they did the exact opposite and rushed with the release of the TKL APEX PRO WIRELESS VERSION... If it will have the same problems, it will simply cause you to lose all trust and hope in the company. HAVING AN AWESOME DESIGN, BEING COMPACT AND COMFORTABLE TO TYPE ON DOESN'T WORTH ALL THE OTHER HEADACHES IT COMES WITH! BATTERY ISSUES + GREEN FLASHES (acute dizziness) = UNACCEPTABLE! UPDATE 2: It took 7 hours to charge from 60% to 80%, and after i plug out the cable, the battery immediately dropped from 80% to 70% and apart from that i experienced another issue with 2 keys ("enter" + " \ " keys) that weren't responsive in terms of RGB colors. Those buttons were also deactivated from the GG software and they were grayed out, undetectable, impossible to select. Switched on and off the keyboard multiple times, switching between connectivity features, until they became responsive and I could again select them but that also reset the color selected for the other key lights. GOT ALMOST HALF A BATTERY THAT WILL LAST 5 INSTEAD OF 10 HOURS, GG = GOOD GAME! STEELSERIES THIS IS BEYOND RIDICULOUS! YOU ARE MESSING WITH YOUR CONSUMERS BIG TIME! FIX THE EXISTENT ISSUES BEFORE RELEASING OTHER PRODUCTS! If you can't possibly fix them after 2 months do what's expected of you and arrange a mass recall.
what's the point of a wireless keyboard if you then have to continuously plug and unplug the cable for charging, it's much more effort than simply leaving it always connected and forget it. @@nomecognome5050 Due to mass returns I bought the second one on sale, below the asking price of the wired version, meaning that I paid 150 instead of 250 euros. In this case it was worth it, in a way, but I'm still undecided whether to return it or not. I am still testing it. I also contacted the Steelseries customer service but the answers I received were vague, general and made me believe that it was an outsourced channel and that my messages did not reach the right people who have the power to change something. Most companies outsource such services because the costs are much lower than paying their own employees. I have only one interest, that Steelseries fixes the mentioned problems, like any other ordinary consumer.
@@nomecognome5050 Also if you are interested in an update concerning the mentioned product i can add this: UPDATE 3: If you want to modify something from BIOS, the keyboard doesn't work at all wired or wireless with the receiver included. It seems that every day I can find new issues with this keyboard. UPDATE 4: After almost a whole day in which I tried to charge the keyboard, with a lot of "unorthodox solutions" I managed to charge it completely to 100%. Yes, it takes a full day to charge it and less to drain the battery. I also use it wired more than the Wireless / Bluetooth mode to avoid charging and to get rid of the green aggressive flashes, although that defeats the whole purpose of owning it. I do not mind that much the green steady light from the "escape" key when it's fully charged, but I'd rather not have it at all. UPDATE 5: For some reason after staying charged for quite some time, I have experienced a situation where the keyboard wasn't able to connect in Wireless mode with the receiver plugged into my PC or tablet. Connection reset after plugging in and out the receiver multiple times. First row of the keyboard was blinking in white color without pairing. It's really frustrating for me to identify so many issues while trying to use it in normal scenarios. Conclusion: I had such high hopes for this keyboard that I expected something like this to hit the market from a company I used to admire so much. I still agree that the best keyboard from Steelseries, in all aspects, design, ergonomics, price, reliability, typing experience, sturdiness, cable thickness, non-software dependent, RGB brightness, a Jack of all trades, was the M750 Apex. I bought 2 of those keyboards just to have a backup in case something goes wrong. Surprisingly, I did not touch the second one and now wanted to buy a newer version, which at first glance offered everything I ever needed. Unfortunately, appearances were more than deceiving. I would also like to mention that there are some reviews where users or promoters complain about the sturdiness of this keyboard. It's really not built like a tank, but you'll never notice this if you use it under normal conditions and don't try to bend it. I'd like to think this was intentional, to reduce weight, with portability in mind. A relatively light keyboard that you can carry everywhere. For example the "Logitech MX keys" keyboard, if you try to bend it, it will break, but if you don't abuse it and use it under normal conditions, you will never have problems with it.

Going for mini as more pros like it better. Never once have I encountered some who beat me with the wootong. Apex pro mini is ultra expensive but still awesome. Unbiased but it's the truth. Also I belive apex to be updating their software
Wooting definitely better
Kinda sounds horrible compared to
The wooting

Nothing will move me off my custom GMMK Pro.
But It's nice to see how good the prebuilt market is. Especially those omniswitches
how much did steelseries pay u buddy
$$$0 dollars, actually check my bank account…
Yup still Zero Dollars 🫡
@@TooMuchTech that’s why both keyboards sounded "similar"
The sound test is for *you* to decide how it sounds
@@TooMuchTech yeah but you said before the sound test that they sound similar but they don’t, and the sound test went for the apex like 20 sec and the wooting only 5 sec
haha if you can't hear that wooting is quieter you're deaf.
Discord gang
Quick answer. Nothing is better than the wooting60he, and nothing will ever compare to the wooting. At least for a LONG LONG time.
I agree lol
@@De4dSp0t do you have the wooting tho?
What about now? Do you still think that the wooting is the best keyboard by far? The wooting is 200 bucks and the apex 120 I don't know what choose
@sebastianjara.7332 well when it comes to price for relative performance, yes this is good. Stock build quality between the two isn’t that far off and unfortunately the wooting doesn’t really go on sale too often lol
But the wooting still is a better keyboard, just by how much is the question. I’d probably it’s 20% better but I’m not sure if it’s worth another 40% more money for you
So you by yourself outscored the entire opposing team? No wonder you RUclipsrs and Twitch streamers hate SBMM. 🤣 I know, I know - "it's the lag". 😉
If Wooting’s rapid trigger feature is enabled via software, couldn’t Steelseries code their Apex Pro keyboards to perform rapid trigger as well?
SBMM is so not fun💀 and They could!!
@@TooMuchTech Willing to bet the players you curb-stomped in that match would beg to differ, lol.
SBMM is fun to us mere mortal casual gamers who actually enjoy playing against opponents of similar skill. 😁
I hope the folks at Steelseries are smart enough to implement their own version of rapid trigger. A more easily obtainable keyboard than the 60he, with even more comparable features? Definitely a win for customers.
@@eze7647 Last I checked, we still had freedom of speech in this country. Though probably not for much longer, thanks to trolls who resent it when anyone actually dares to practice it and express a thought that they don't like or agree with.
As for the infantile name-calling? There's just too much to unpack there. And unlike you, I didn't bother to research Kile's KDA, though I seriously doubt that you did either. BTW, I've watched streams of the guy play D2. And from what I saw, his skills looked much better than you described them.
Oh, and BTW - I was just busting his chops. I actually enjoy his channel. So sure, I guess? What you said. But before I post anything in the future, I'll make sure to run it by you first to get your approval.
Wow, just - wow... Smh. Where’s that “block” option when you need it? Oh wait, there it is. 👋🏻
I would like for them to solve the following issues from the software, which represent the reasons why I made the return:
The battery, according to the software, lasts less than the specified time.

Switching from idle to pairing on Bluetooth is not fast after entering the battery conservation mode, when the functions are closed.
If you are unsure about this keyboard, undecided to buy it and wondering if some mentioned features, software issues have been fixed, that information can be checked here techblog.steelseries.com/
UPDATE 1:
I bought another unit to test it more rigorously and after it was completely discharged it didn't want to charge overnight above 60%, it froze at that threshold!
UPDATE 2:
It took 7 hours to charge from 60% to 80%, and after i plug out the cable, the battery immediately dropped from 80% to 70% and apart from that i experienced another issue with 2 keys ("enter" + " \ " keys) that weren't responsive in terms of RGB colors.
I assume it's just for the temporary aesthetic until you need to recharge. Or are you so weird that you need to move the keyboard while using it and the cable gets in the way??
@@nomecognome5050 Also if you are interested in an update concerning the mentioned product i can add this:
UPDATE 3:
If you want to modify something from BIOS, the keyboard doesn't work at all wired or wireless with the receiver included.
It seems that every day I can find new issues with this keyboard.
UPDATE 4:
After almost a whole day in which I tried to charge the keyboard, with a lot of "unorthodox solutions" I managed to charge it completely to 100%.
UPDATE 5:
For some reason after staying charged for quite some time, I have experienced a situation where the keyboard wasn't able to connect in Wireless mode with the receiver plugged into my PC or tablet. Connection reset after plugging in and out the receiver multiple times.
First row of the keyboard was blinking in white color without pairing.
It's really frustrating for me to identify so many issues while trying to use it in normal scenarios.
Conclusion:
I had such high hopes for this keyboard that I expected something like this to hit the market from a company I used to admire so much.
For example the "Logitech MX keys" keyboard, if you try to bend it, it will break, but if you don't abuse it and use it under normal conditions, you will never have problems with it.
noob. should of bought from Amazon. hassle free 30 day return + on sale cheap AF.
Dude get your ears tested , apex sounds awful and rattling

So Too Much Tech a kindly poitning regarding the video.
1), you said that the sound is similar between those keyboards. In sound corpartion the difference is day by night. Apex Pro sounds like a toy and the Wooting like a real keyboard.
2) You said that finally Steelseries came with double shot keycaps, and then you complain about light. Ofc is dimmer. Because are double shot keycaps. The old Apex had abs keycaps. Put Abs to Apex pro mini and you will see what i mean.
Other than that, aw always i apriciate your videos.
With the handle on the wooting 60he i thought it'd be wireless, the case too, it was the perfect thing to include... it's still a great keyboard, but it's not competing in the lineup I expected. Unfortunate, I really want to buy wooting brand, if they release a wireless maybe i'll switch.
You are braindead if you think that its not competing.... ITS LITERALLY IN ITS OWN MARKET. You haven't been paying attention at all.
Why buy a keyboard with 0 latency to use it wireless?
Wireless for a keyboard is the biggest nonsense ever introduced. It. Doesn't. Move.
