Thank you for such beautiful form. Caught my inner voice say "God bless you" the first time I watched the 1st yoko geri in this video
Indeed, they are not only exceptional in competitions, but also in their knowledge of Karate and Budo.
🤩✌️Buon Lavoro Lucio Maurino!🤩✌️
🤩✌️Congratulazioni!🤩✌️
I looked at this clip and sensei Lucio Maurino very good described kata Sochin .
You are welcome Fernando. Actually this is the full video. The kata Sochin is not complete in this video because Maurino preferred to focus on some principles of Karate instead of teaching just the kata... but the duration of the lesson was limited to just one hour! However, stay tuned because i'm going to upload more lessons by Luca Valdesi, Vincenzo Figuccio and Viviana Bottaro.
Again a very appreciated and highly valueable video! And I hate his Yoko geri :-)
For some reason I'm surprisingly but very positively impressed of his comparison between "sport" and "traditional" interpretations of the kata. Honestly, I thought that their performance is a shallow version mainly for competitons and tournaments but the more I watch your videos I see that they indeed have a deep understanding of it.
Nice video as usual from you..and also the teaching is very useful and helpful.
Semplicemente fantastico Lucio !!!
I am not personally fond of the change from yoko keage to yoko kekomi, but damn, he looks good doing it!
Dear kato9591, I assure you that his lessons, particularly the private ones, are more than intense. However this was a lesson with people of different levels and experiences, and coming from different styles. Moreover, he focused on some principles of karate that had to be explained also by words, not only by movements. Obviously in this video I removed the actual training parts and I left only his explanations; the actual lesson was about one hour in length.
Italian is such a beautiful language! I don't understand it but it sounds very nice to me.
Thank you for video and explications
Fantastic yoko geri @21:24 indeed, but I still don't get why they (Valdesi as well) perform it at the jodan level. Were they simply taught that way, or they just want to look "fancy" ?
Thank you! Yes, he is a great sensei!
please please please please please upload more videos. .
dear drewnut, you are right... but don't look at it as a contradiction. It is instead the manifestation of his wide knowledge, focused both on traditional and sports karate. During his lessons he often highlights some details modified specifically for competitions, and at the same time he also shows the traditional interpretation of the same techniques.
Currently I don't have kumite videos featuring Maurino... but stay tuned for more lessons by Luca Valdesi and Vincenzo Figuccio.
Unfortunately, I never watched any kumite video of him, would you upload some of them or any suggestion?
You are welcome Pete! Stay tuned for more similar videos by Luca Valdesi and Vincenzo Figuccio ;-)
FANTASTIC!!! Thanks for sharing :-)
Thank you!
sadly he explains that kata is not for competition and is instead for waza but then does high side kicks to face followed by elbow strikes which is not possible but looks good in competition
how in the world do you get to be this good?
Well, you just need hard training, top scientific knowledge, top Karate knowledge, and... his body shape and talent!
Alessandro Timmi So many black belts in the class but they sit carelessly. Is a karate class less disciplined than a kendo class?
avok23 maybe! There is a general lack of discipline everywhere in our society, I would say. Happy to hear that you guys in Kendo are doing better on this.
In Kendo you have no choice cos sitting is part of training your leg muscles.
Practice
Excellent
Muito bom! Oss!
Ho le lacrime agli occhi...
Wonderful
What is that disturbing music and noise doing in the background??
Muy bueno. gracias y sigue así.
excelente
+Juan Romero thanks!
Excelente perfect OSS.
I'll upload another video in a couple of days... ;-)
A lot of similarity to Aikido techniques ... very insightful instruction.
Well spotted, he also studies and practices Aikido...
Super😃👍
I really like a lot of his interpretations, but he lacks a lot of the dynamic hip action in this kata, particularly on the turns. Tsuchiya and Kurihara of Japan demonstrate this much better and generate a lot more kime.
Japanese devote a life for this
Prego! :-)
Very good form, but those are not the right applications for sochin. No need to use aikido
Complimenti per la lezione .
He likes to show off that side kick 😆
Can’t blame him! :)
Why doing kekome, it is keage.
Even That Mr Maurino is a verry capable athlette, basic ellements of the Kata are owfully neglected and change, Maybe cause hys WKF linage, but that sochin had very neglected dinamic move ments the yokos the shuto are wrong hys manji uke is not that bad hys focus is more fisical than using roting and bring in the enrgy from the flor causing snapp. Well is onlly a opinion, Hys fisicall skills are great just the teichnique was not accurate. Ossu Yarim..
His Sochin Dachi looks very strange!!......don't like it - also tooooo much explanation - get to work and don't talk so much!!
I see nothing but starched karate gis.. undisciplined wkf karateka and worthless bunkai. Source: 22 years experience .
ma vai via...
ahahaha
yes trash
Muito bom! Oss!
