This series is awesome, man, thank. Do you think this will be better than POD?

It's hard to say if it will be better or not. I'm sure there will be a lot of balance issues starting out. It has taken PoD 5 years to get to where it is now. One thing that I do think is that there are a lot more quality of life changes in PD2 that PoD doesnt have, and the entire mod team is very gung-ho and will be responsive. I feel like GD on PoD has become increasingly complacent over the last 6 months or so. As far as the gameplay and changes and all that, I think they will be pretty similar. I do like the addition of dungeons and a desire to include PvP. PvP is a winner for me. Again, I'm sure it will be very imbalanced at the start but will improve season after season

Fack yes, I'm excited to make a summoner starter.

I am too. I think I will be going pure summoner to start, but I will definitely be playing around with the hybrid wolf+wolf pack builds as well as the werebear+summon bear builds. I think that druids got a lot of love in both the summon tree and shape shifting tree.

Think I may start with pure summons and some points in werewolf

    • @zannycakesgaming1986

I think that would be really solid as a starter. You can cast all your summons while in wolf form so having the bit of extra damage output and defense stats would be really good I think. I tried out 1pt in wolf and ravens up to about lvl 10 and it felt very good. I think I'm just gonna go 20 points into raven, use skill quests to get wolverine/wolves as I go. lvl 20 raven is super strong, they do ~250 damage per hit at level 20 between cold and phys, they don't get stuck on anything, and casting them 3 at a time makes the build very efficient. After ravens are maxed Ill start working on wolves/bear and get a point into gust. Even with a large cooldown it is handy getting over rivers and such

Thanks for posting this. I'm also thinking about starting Druid, but I wanted to roll an Avatar style caster as I really like the playstyle. I also thought about starting Paladin but I can't decide xD
I'm not sure how I feel about the changes to Necromancer. I would need to try it myself to get a feel for it because some of the changes didn't seem that great to me.
I will give PD2 a fair shot, but I am enjoying PoD quite a lot so I will 100% keep playing it too.
Also, PD2 needs loot filters on its Wiki :P

I think druid, pally, and necro all have strong build options. I feel like as a whole, curses got pretty heavy nerfs if you are a non-curse build, but poison/bone/summoning/corpse explosion builds have gotten buffs elsewhere and will be just fine even with nerfed curses. I think that a pure curse build (curse mastery+dark pact+whatever 3 curses you want to focus on) will be extremely strong, especially in group content. As for loot filters, I'm sure there will be people in the community that will be making/refining them shortly. If you join my discord discord.gg/W7Kk2XMwRc I've got a link in the announcement area that has a loot filter setup with instructions on how to get it going. I love the addition of having drop notifications in chat and on the minimap. I don't have to be paranoid that I'm missing high rune drops just off screen lol

I played summoner up to 28 on open beta, unfortunately wasn't able to get oak sage to try it out. I'll probably run oak sage. It may have been due to my wolves being low level, but they seemed kinda squishy in act 4 and 5, particularly against elemental damage. I thing the added HP as a flat amount will actually be really good for wolves since they have a fairly small HP pool, and the regen will be helpful as well.

can you link a credible source to download Project D2?
Also - goes this override vanilla download or does it create a separate file so I can still play original ?

    • @zannycakesgaming1986

projectdiablo2.com is the official website and you can download it there. You download the file into your diablo 2 folder and run the launcher. You can still play original if you wish, pd2 is accessed through the pd2 specific launcher. Also, if you have path of diablo mod, you can have both at the same time and they dont affect each other :)
