In this video it seemed that you clipped off the pointed end of the bitter melon seed. I have learned from another one of your videos that it is the more rounded end where the is a sort of dot shapped thing that is the right side to clip. I have had no problems doing this. Tom
Our seed is from professional seed breeder, not from our garden. It is not a good idea to take the coat off before drying the seed. It will damage the seed and make the seed not suitable for storage.
The trouble is in Germany it's difficult to get some Chinese melon seeds.when the seeds arrived, they were not the same species as shown on the packet.so we have no choice but to save the seeds for next year.we can't be troubling relatives to send us seeds from asia.
Great tips on those seeds germination, no wonder I had no success with some luffa and bitter melon seeds before , will have to try your way. Thank you for sharing your knowledge as always, you rock! 😁
It is similar theory :) It is a hard to "teach" people though, because not every one can crack seed with teeth properly. Cracking sunflower seed is one of the special skill for Chinese :)

Asian garden 2 table thanks for the help!
Hi! How come you grow 2 seedlings in one section?
I plant 2 or 3 seeds per section in case one does not germinate. Better to have 2 or 3 than none.
Nice
Thank you!

My mom just bites down on the head end like cracking sunflower seeds and then she soaks them. They germinate pretty fast this way.
