Stetson Royal Deluxe Open Road Hat unboxing Review. Stetson open road hat review. Silverbelly color. Good Guys wear white hats. Not city, not cowboy, somewhere in between.
My Open Road is my favorite hat ever, I’ve had it about 10 years and it feels better with age. Don’t worry about it feeling a little loose, one it breaks in and get a little weathered it will form to your head perfectly!
I own 4 Open road hats. My first was a silver belly 6X, then I bought the same hat in the Royal Stetson, I have a natural in Royal and caribou in Royal. Does 6X open road hat is just as nice is just stiffer. They look exactly the same worn it’s just how they feel on your head. Because the Royal Stetson is more of a softer you can pull it down to have it fit on your head A little more secure. I own several open road straw hats. It is better to buy the 10 X straw hat or the hemp straw hat. The more expensive straw hats are well worth the extra money. You will get lots of compliments wearing your open road. A similar style with a teardrop crown is called the Stratoliner. I own a silver belly in that model. You almost can’t go wrong with a Stetson. It all comes down to owning your look. I find that strangers give me more respect when I wear my OpenROAD them when I wear a baseball cap.
It looks great on you! I'm about your age and have several. You just have to wear it with confidence, and you will be surprised by the number of compliments you will receive. I actually was in a store I frequent and the salesperson I know complimented me on it, asked me where I bought it and purchased it on his phone right then and there! Great video!
Thanks Mario!
Looks great! As far as snapping the brim, the softer more dress hat felt like the better. The curvature on the open road brim isn’t quite as severe as a fedora which also limits its snap. I have a very soft pure and a 6x, the pure snaps down with that classy sweeping move the 6X takes a lot more coaxing like it would rather not. Anyway wear it proudly snapped down or not.
It is a beautiful hat, it's the Dallas businessman hat.
They are excellent hats and the brim size is manageable.
I have the exact same hat but mine has the silver "LBJ" pin. I really like it a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Nice hat, but you have it on backwards. Inside bow goes in the back. Outside bow goes on your left. Akubra Camp Draft is the exact same hat (licensed by Stetson) but much better felt and craftsmanship.
Cool, thanks
That's a nice looking hat and that is on of my all time favorite movie good old smokey and the bandit
1 and 2 the best the 3rd was good 👍
Classic
Looks good, but you look better with the Skyline. Thanks for the video.
I'm like a rhinestone cowboy.
That’s awesome!
It looks awesome
Looks great! I often wear a stratoliner felt Stetson fedora in silver belly and have a caribou open road Royal deluxe on order myself to mix it up. I wear mostly fedoras and dobbs panama hats in the summer, though the Stetson stratoliner hemp I got this spring has been a treat as well. Love mixing it up, yours looks aces on you, I hope you get many years out of it and enjoy it in good health sir!
Yes, I need some quality straw hats for warm weather. Also, I would like to try a Temple fedora. Thanks for watching!
It looks great on you!
Oh thank you!
It looks fantastic on you Steve!
I worked receiving at Shepler’s way back in the day and tagged a ton of those.
Thank You!
I grew up in Wichita and shopped at the original Shepler's all the time (when it was in the pink pole barn).
Looks good to me
Akubra Campdraft is same measurements and a far superior hat at half the price. Its also open crown to boot.
That hat suits you!
Thanks!
You definitely need to find some different single feathers of nice colors to accessorize it.
1:50... you put the hat on backwards sir, I'm an open road wearer myself (caribou grey) and highly noticed when you showed the inside of the brim the black ribbon was up front, all western hats have the hat band ribbon to inform you to make sure it's worn on the left side of your head not the right. Anyways nice hat you got there... 7 1/4 is my size as well
Actually I did that on purpose to generate comments. Thanks
@allwheelsdown5646 as you know.. one hat leads to another, I'm at #4 on stetson hats. Open Road, The Markham (fedora), The Yancy gambler, and the Los Alamos (straw) for summer time... love em all and getting more. Be safe.

Very nice hat suits you well. I'm waiting for mine to come in Friday. Got the brown mix but I might get the silver belt too looks good
Sounds great!
Looks great on you! I need to get one…
It's on backwards
Hat looks good on you Steve! By the way, "Happy New Year. "
Thanks. Happy new year!
Looks great on you!
Oh thank you!
Looks awesome dude!
Thanks.
Nice hat and it looks good on you
Thank you!
Hi Steve,
I’m looking to purchase a royal deluxe open road. I would like to wear it with the brim “snapped” down, like a fedora. Is that possible with the royal deluxe? Thanks!!
I wouldn't wear the open road brim down, even though it's possible. The brim doesn't want to stay snapped down very well. I would buy a stratoliner instead. Thanks for watching!
@@allwheelsdown5646 thank you! I rewatched your video after I wrote you. I apparently missed your comment about that the first time I watched it. I’ll see if the Stratoliner works for me.
@@allwheelsdown5646 I went to try on both today and bought a nice natural color Stratoliner! Thanks again!
They say these run small. Not the case?
Mine seems a little big and I had my wife measure my head.
