Thanks for the video very helpful, I have a 2013 Lincoln MKX, I believe that it is just the same to add the rails. However I have a sunroof that would interfer with the cross bars? Someone on you tube has done this to their MKX but put Thule cross bars on to the ford rails as they have a higher clearance. Wish me luck 🤞 😂
Hey there. The only rack I could find was one off of another Edge. They did not include the gutter filling piece that comes attached to your side rails. Do you know of a way it can be used without it? Or would I have to custom attach it to the original one on the car?
It's been 2 years. What did you do? I don't reason why you couldn't use it without its more to cover that channel up but you could probably get them from the dealership or a Ford parts supplier online.
@@livenfree I ended up emailing the people that I bought it from. They found them sitting around. Pulled em off and forgot to pack em. I lucked out 😅 I was close to just cutting the holes out and using some kind of rubber/plastic filler around the edges
Funny how we are all different. I have an Edge with the roof rack/bars and I want to take it off. My local recyclers has one without the rack and I am going to raid its gutter covers. Thank you.
I got everything from a ford dealer on ebay. They sold it all as a kit, i know the side rails are usally seperate from the cross bars, the cross bars where complete with everything you needed to attach to the sode rails.
This is great. I called Ford and they said it would be a 2 hour install. Apparently Ford trained professionals take 2 hours to do what you showed it under 12 minutes. Do you happen to know or remember the weight rating?
I know one thing if you was working on my car you better have some type of cloth up there. Put in your drill and stuff like that on my hood would be uncalled for I don't know who taught you how to work on somebody else's stuff
Thank you for the detailed instructions, and for the proper camera setup! Made my girlfriend much more willing to install it ourselves!
Came for instructions. Stayed for the shirt!!
Thanks I now have the confidence to tackle this myself.
Thank you so much, it was a easy setup watching this tutorial 👍🏾
This is super helpful! Thank you!
great video just a quick inquiry, how do the roof rails and crossbars have been holding up?

Where did you purchase the 2013 ford edge roof rails and racks?
Place a mat on the top of the Ford to avoid scratching roof.

I think its like 100lbs, total install was like 30 minutes and that was filming, not to bad.
Do you know where we can get the kit to do this with?
Hello, we were told that Ford doesn’t carry that accessory. Did you buy it at A Ford dealer or off market? Thank you in advance for your help.
It was a genuine ford part i picked up on ebay.
@@adamanderson8631 do you have the parts number?
@@adamanderson8631 I would like to know the part number as well.

How sturdy do you feel these are? Looking online, not seeing a weight capacity
They are factory bars, I believe it has a 100lbs capacity.
Do you have a link to where you bought your rails?
I don't, i picked them up off ebay.
How much and where'd you get them?
Picked up from a ford dealer on ebay, i don't remember oirce but where cheaper than an aftermarket set.
@@adamanderson8631 thanks!
Now that they've been on a few months, do you have any issues with the holes you made in the roof leaking at all?
No issues whatsoever, the car get ran thru a carwash twice a week and no leaks.
