Oh I bet it’s stunning with the gold edges. I actually thought about using one of these for song lyrics. I’m always wanting to transcribe ones that mean a lot to me or have a memory attached to it and make a journal of it / just never got around too it. But maybe one day soon!
Would love to know more about how you do this! I write down any lyrics I love to a song I love... But I'm curious how you transcribe them and journal about them. Would love to hear your thoughts!
@@Chaos_and_Creativity because the B5 page size is nice and big, I transcribe the lyrics on the left side of the page (in fun colors) and then journal about it in black on the right side of the page
Thank you again for such an informative video! I LOVE the B5 size and really wanted to use it this year. But with how much I’m traveling right now, it’s just too heavy to take on the go. However, this video is making me think about it again, lol.
Oh it’s so big to lug around but there’s something so satisfying about a B5 especially in the Tomoe River paper! The feeling is just amazing in the hand and it lays so nice and flat and just has this glorious heft about it! 10/10 recommend 😝
Yes the B5 Stalogy is 5mm. The SI is 3.7x3.5mm. I like the Stalogy for lettering practice since it’s larger but for journaling and commonplacing the SI is very nice!
I love B5 notebooks, I tend to stick to stalogy, GR Gibson, or Design Works because I write a lot and that adds up. That said the SI B5 is very tempting.
Totally agree! I have a lot of different composition and B5 notebooks but the feel of these is amazing. I’ve got another TRP B5 but it doesn’t have the weight/flop of these so it’s not as satisfying 😝
I have the Chic Sparrow B5 in Lilac. She’s beautiful! I’m using a composition notebook in mine because I prefer lined paper as I write rather large. I do have a B6 Common Planner
I love a composition book. Something so classic about it and the pages feel so nice especially if you write with ballpoint and get that indention in the page 🥰 the lilac sounds beautiful!
😝 the Stalogy I use for hand lettering/font style practice. But for these I’m going to probably create a unique journal. I think one with doodles and journaling. I do wish it was a larger grid just bc I find it comfortable to write in a larger grid in this size but I’ll make do bc it’s so yummy!
@@JustScribbledo you follow any type of hand lettering pages, or do you just write and doodle in order to practice? I really want to learn how to better control my handwriting and cursive and calligraphy - just all of it! This would be the perfect size to do so 😍
I just ordered the B5 size from Sterling Ink for 2025! So excited to try that. I am currently in a B6 and finding it just a bit too small and for whatever reason I no longer like the A5 proportions when I am doing sketching/watercolor. Is that a B5 pencil board you have? Thanks!
Hope you enjoy it! B5 is a fun size. Papertess has one coming that I’m looking at playing in for 2025. Yes it’s a B5 pencil board. I have a few one from NanamiPaper I think and then JetPens is where I get the others.
A B6 is similar in size to a composition notebook. Or a classic happy planner. B5 notebooks are roughly 7” x 10” Practicing hand lettering and lettering styles and journaling predominantly.
I'm trying to remember, is B5 also composition notebook size? I have a Documented Journey cork folio in that size and wonder if I could use it with the new sterling ink.
Hi John! It’s not identical but very similar. A composition is 7.5x9.75 whereas a B5 is 6.9x9.8. As long as height wise you’ve got a little extra room in your composition the SI B5 notebooks should fit. These would be so nice in your cork cover!!
@@JustScribblethank you for answering this question! I have a perfect leather folio at home that has a composition book in it. Fingers crossed my SI 2025 Common Planner fits!!! 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
Wow that full year is like an old fashioned phone book! In a good way! I love the floppiness.
That’s such a great way to describe it! It’s totally amazing how it feels and flops.
Love the B5 size in mist. I’m soooo debating it. I just wish it was 5mm grid instead of the smaller. But so nice!
It would definitely be better in 5mm I think just for lettering and my normal handwriting. But I’ll take it anyway I get can get it. 😝
Love this... The amount of TR paper is fabulous. Those covers 😍
It really is! It feels so good in the hand! The leather and the TRP!
I love chic sparrow and hoping to get myself a B5 cover soon. I’m so glad they make them in that size.
I love them too! It’s a great size, I’m sure you’ll love it!
I love my B5! I got it in Mist with gold edges and it's the perfect size for transcribing song lyrics and journaling about them.

What I like about Sterling’s is the grid size. I am assuming that the Stalogy’s grid is bigger.

Oh that’s a hard choice. I’m thinking of using different fountain pens and inks in one to create a unique journal.
