Can you react to HBO miniseries band of brothers and the Pacific
This 2 parter is probably my favourite of 12’s. He has so many excellent stories though. And each finale is great, especially the first part of each. Still miss 12, maybe get a return appearance in the sixtieth special.
Great reaction!!! Just one more to go......!
It’s kinda cool how much this ep seemed to resonate with you!
@Neil Costello maybe hes trying to stack up the likes before the flood of dislikes heading his way when he starts dreadful who s11 and s12?
The doctor falls isnt meant to be an epic battle or a big world ending threat. Its conclusion to character growth. Nardole transforming into a leader and inspiration. Bill's strength in mind and positivity being broken and tested.Missy facing her past and standing with the doctor only to be stopped by herself. And the doctor starting off as a grumpy abrupt and rude transforming him now to a kind person who will stand up for anything just too help out whoever he can. It's an excellent conclusion to the characters. And my favourite episode of who ever
I couldn't put it better.
But yet it manages to be epic in action as well, especially in the doctor falls! Those three episodes have everything!
I have never agreed with a comment more.
Brilliantly explained.
Phenomenal acting from the whole cast here.
lewis the llama yes especially our lead, Failwhale.
Bill: "I don't want to live if I can't be me anymore. Do you understand?"
Doctor: "Yeah."
I didn't catch that before: The Doctor is feeling the exact same way about this regeneration.
yeah, I wouldn't want to be the 13th doctor either ...
@@bjarne3521 she’s an amazing doctor
@@bloodarcher7841 maybe she could, but Chris Cibnall is a pretty crappy writer. I mean, he literally destroyed the show!
@@bloodarcher7841 shes horrible chibnall is a shitty writer and shes a shitty doctor she is a good actor though but being a good actor isnt enough to be a good doctor you have to have something more she doesn't have that
@@bloodarcher7841 sure, but she's still the worst nuwho doctor by a fucking mile
"Were you lying?"
"No."
…
"Were you right?"
…
That right there is when the realisation really hits.
It takes me back to Rose lowkey bc the doctor will always TRY to keep the companions safe, but it doesn’t mean they will succeed.
"I'm not trying to win. I'm not doing this because I want to beat someone, or because I hate someone, or want to blame someone! It's not because it's fun. God knows it's not because it's easy. It's not even because it works, because it hardly ever does! I do what I do because it's right! Because it's decent! And above all, it's kind! Just that, just kind."
If that doesn't perfectly sum up the Doctor and their character, I don't know what does. One of the best speeches ever given by the Doctor, and Peter Capaldi knocks it out of the park
Plus, he comes full circle. Beginning of this life, he's wondering if he's a good man. By the end, he realises everything he does is because he is.
Until the end f series 12, where we learn he does what he does because he's the Chosen one. The most chosenest one that was ever chosen, that was born as the most important existence in the universe.
@@VidoIin That doesn't change their morals. The Doctor is still driven by kindness.
Darragh Tate Yea the Timeless Child twist doesn’t really change who the Doctor is or what their morals are tbh.
@@VidoIin Thus far, the Timeless Child revelation changes absolutely nothing. Despite the controversy surrounding it, nothing about it means anything unless they actually do something with it going forward.
I will always remember when The Doctor was Peter Capaldi. He was my Doctor, he was my professor, he was my warrior, he was my hero, and I didn't want him to go.
I fear he wont be as treasured as Tennant and Smith were, I absolutely loved Capaldi as the Doctor
My fav doctors are Smith and Peter
Really speaks to how good Pearl is at acting that she manages to do well and stand out as a relatively new actress and character against Simm, Gomez and Capaldi - she does so well.
They did Rory dirty in the compilation.
Rory was amazing imo. But as for Mickey...
It’s the end. But the moment has been prepared for...
Nice reference.
Four was my favorite (and first) when I was a kid. Twelve is my favorite as an adult.
All the places the Doctor was mentioning there at the end were all the episodes he has met the Cybermen and defeated them.
That's not true.
@@molduga Okay, not episode titles, just locations (mostly planets) where he's defeated them. Yes, dating back through ALL of Who history.
Telos (Tomb of the Cybermen) Voga (Revenge of the Cybermen) Canary Wharf (Army of ghosts/Doomsday) Planet 14 (The Invasion) and “Lose on the Moon” (The Moonbase)
@@wackywaa1458 There were a number of Big Finish and novel locations that he mentioned as well.
Companions: An awful lot of running.
Audience: An awful lot of crying.
Then after twice upon a time, audience: an awful lot of disappointment
@@tjdw5251 come on twice upon a time wasn't bad
Chloe Chong thats why i said after, oh, i mean everything that came after, so series 11 and 12
“That was kinda sad man”
Me: Oh yeah there’s definitely nothing sadder coming 👀
"Always read the comments, because one day there'll be an army."
You cannot convince me that that line was not the result of Moffat's experience with the fanbase.
Scariest line in all of Who.
Gotta remember that the Doctor tried to kill himself. He was starting to regenerate and then he caused the explosion before he could regenerate. It’s the same thing that happened with 11 on the beach. He didn’t want to regenerate anymore.
God Capaldi was such an amazing Doctor. God bless him. I think he really might be my favorite.
"When The Doctor Was Me." and "I Don't Wanna Go" references to past doctors. awesome.
"Pity, no stars. I'd hoped there'd be stars." And I was broken.
Bill is not a doughnut companion, she is now Saint Bill, the Holey.
uunderated comment xD
😂👏👏👏👏
oh i love you
Throughsaders, assemble.
I shouldn't be laughing at this but...
The Doctor tried to suicide, he was starting to regenerate after the shots of the mondasian cyberman and then he activated the explosion, but he survived and continue to regenerate, so he got angry and screamed that he dnt want to regenerate again, he is so tired... tired of living. Remember all of this when you will watch the Christmas special.
That's just sad...
Which actually makes me think that 13 is a 'Do not be so selfish" punishment from all Life and the TARDIS. Because Bill is right. The Universe, or Creation, or Reality, whichever you want to call that need the Doctor to much, as they will forever need him.
@@shauntempley9757 Why would it be a punishment?
@@disenoimagen7173 Because he was prepared to die and stop defending the Universe, which means the Daleks succeed in the future whenever and wherever, and however they strike next.
13 is an emotional personality reboot for the fact that 12's suicidal behavior at the end of this episode was a result of ALL his past lives battlefields and the toll all those events took on him.
It is why 12's kindness speech here represents not just the 12th Doctor, but every previous Doctor that has fought in any battle.
The shot with the eye is a callback to listen where the doctor was a child and looked up to the stars.
the ret-con with JW *cough*
I love this two parter, its my favourite finale by far. The best performance John Simm gives, Capaldi is just amazing there’s just so much I love
Bill: "I don't want to live if I can't be me anymore. Do you understand?"
Doctor: "Yeh."
damn ya'll early EARLY. Video nto even live just in the playlist lOL

Your reactions are great. what can we say, we can't wait to see sometimes.
I check the playlist daily.
been waitin since it first appeared in it LMAO
The way your eyes lit right up at the end there, holy shit. Byohtiful.
I know just how wide they got when he realized that one was there
I keep finding it ironic that Richard Hurndall and David Bradley got to say: "I'm the Doctor, the original you might say," but Hartnell himself never did.
"Could end up shaping to be one of the best stories in the show."
It definitely is right up there for me.
Best reaction to The Doctor Falls I've seen yet.
I am from korea and watched this episode in live in the middle of night and literally cried when the doctor got shots by cyberman just like you. Great point!
"Pity, no stars, i'd hoped there'd be stars"
That's so sad. That's heartbreaking.
"Is Missy dunzo for real?"
Well yes, but actually no.
That's pretty much been the Master's MO since his inception
Depends where Sacha Dhawan fits in.
timrob12 most likely between the two we see in this episode
@@NOVA0335 Which means Dhawan is carrying a spare dematerialisation circuit around with him. Hmmm, wonder if that will ever become important again?
@@timrob12, both the 2021 annual and the Missy comic shows that O is after Missy. The Big Finish audio "The Lumiat" tells us how Missy survived and regenerated.
...no breezin' through this one, sir f - one of dr who's most ambitious and emotionally turbulent episodes - beautifully executed, incredibly rich in the development of the characters and full of terrific performances - as befits sir peter's magnificent, triumphant doctor.
The two-parter 'World Enough and Time' and 'The Doctor Falls' were originally put out in the UK in Summer 2017 in very early evening slots. The plot and themes are way too dark for that and I wasn't in the right frame of mind when I first saw them. They should really have been in a late evening slot, because you need to concentrate to appreciate them and as there are so many horror elements. Every member of the cast puts in epic, adult performances and the Doctor's speech to the Master(s) summarizes an entire set of incarnations, not just his own. One thing certainly went full circle though; the Doctor seems about as angry about having to change again as he was about his new face when he emerged in 'Deep Breath'. More about that angry regeneration denial speech after his final outing.
One more Capaldi to go. Savour it; another one that rewards careful viewing.
Seriously, I will never stop getting emotional whenever I watch this finale. It's just Capaldi at his best. I personally think it's the best era of Who in the 2010s. Cannot wait to see the next Who reaction!
Not gonna lie but the master do be looking hot with that beard
So Delgado... ;)
@@SGlitz
It feels to me like Moffat's two very different takes on The Master are the first ones since Delgado that actually feel like The Master. The earlier cookoo crazy Simms version certainly didn't.
"No beard. Well... a wife...."
So he does still have that rubbish beard
@@EH-bn3kf Simms hated what they did with his Master in Tennants run, and said in the dvd extras he was more happy to bring the character justice in this episode. The disguise in the previous episode, the beard, the laugh, the plan within plans. And a true Masterful send off.
It's always been my head cannon that because the Capaldi era deals so much in symbolism and metaphor- Clara and Bill's deaths are how the Doctor fills in the story in his head. Taking different meaning from this quote from River in her first episode(s)-
"Everybody knows that everybody dies and nobody knows it like the Doctor. But I do think that all the skies of all the worlds might just turn dark if he ever for one moment, accepts it."
Capaldi is the best DOCTOR period !
He is!!
Strange of how we went from the best to the worst so soon
@@stratsfm7810 Overrated! he's absolutely brilliant, but Capaldi is so underrated.
Patrick Troughton for me
@@wackywaa1458 He's my joint favourite classic Doctor! I love him too!
This was probably my favourite New Who finale. At first I was a bit soured by the out of no where return of Heather but you get over it.
I liked the whole different floors element as it was good sci fi on 2 counts. One exploring the idea of a generational ship & everything that it would entail & two it added to the black hole time differential element of this two parter
The ending for Missy & The Master was perfect, laughing as they killed each other/themselves and of course Capaldi was fantastic, definitely my favourite Doctor
I disagree with Heather being out of nowhere. I thought in Pilot they set her up to return and then they left enough space for people to forget about her. It was a great piece of forshadowing.
But you are right about this being the best finale. :-)
@@cutthr0atjake looking back that is what they did, it just felt a little cheap. Bill was a cyberman it seemed like there was no way out & then up pops someone from the start of the series to magic her out of it.
Perhaps had they done it like it was in the RTD era where there would be subtle clues to Badwolf, Torchwood, Mr Saxon & planets disappearing it would of worked better
@@Southsidestu Ha ha ha. I found Badwolf, Torchwood & Saxon about as subtle as a brick. :-D
@@cutthr0atjake I mean looking back they stand out now because I know what they are, I can't really remember how I felt about them 14 yrs ago. Some of the clues were more subtle than others, having badwolf spray painted on the TARDIS was most definitely not but when Rose glanced at her phone & it said Torchwood it was more subtle
The point I am making is whether you found their previous attempts subtle or not, they could have subtlety woven Heather's return through season 10 so it didnt feel so cheap & magic hero at the last minute. IMO
@@Southsidestu I think its all down to personal opinion. With the foreshadowing in episode 1, I found the ending subtle. For you, however, it seems like the opposite is the case. Each to their own. :-)
Unpopular opinion: This is slightly better than world enough and time
Don't you think it's an unpopular opinion because it's a two parter?
Think the master reveal in world enough and time is why people rate the first part higher, but as an overall episode think this is slightly better
Gary Louk id have to agree
I think the highs are higher, but the lows are lower.
I think they’re both very good but this is pretty much the perfect finale. WEAT is very good. This is much better imo.
Fantastic 2 parter. Probably one of the best.
Been waiting for this one. Great reaction - similar to my experience on first airing.
The Bill ending jarred for me at first viewing, but have since rationalised it. A small curveball in an otherwise outstanding episode. And isn;t Capaldi just amazing? What an actor,
Oh man I remember watching that for the first time. Peter Capaldi as the doctor really was something else huh. Amazing season finale😍
I’m pleased that Lis sladen got a little cameo, nice to see they still care about Sarah Jane, fantastic actress
I love how this two-parter and the Christmas special fit perfectly with the tenth planet forming a beautiful 7 part story of the doctor learning to accept that he has to change (with cybermen thrown into the mix as well).
The actress playing the children’s guardian is the same actress that plays Sams mom in GOT
She is also in Sex Education on Netflix
Loved the reaction :) I adore the actress who plays Missy, thought her performance was very subtle and powerful in this episode
"The First Doctor and the same actor who played him" I mean unless you meant the guy who played Hartnell in AAISAT, it'd be a bit difficult to get the actual First Doctor since he died in 1975.
He will probably realize it when he watches Twice Upon a Time, where they literally morph Hartnell in Bradley.
God I love Capaldi. My favourite Doctor and IMHO the best actor to have played the role so far. The Doctor who's mission statement was simply to be kind. ♥️
Oh my god, it just clicked. Missy's idea about cybermen from cyberspace in Series 8 came from The Doctor. "People plus technology minus humanity. The internet, cyberspace, Cybermen. Always read the comments, because one day they'll be an army."
Damn Capaldi is so brilliant. Excited to see the next ep i actually really liked it. Plus i love Mark Gatiss who stars in it. He wrote quite a few eps too and the Adventure in Space and Time documentary film!
@KayKo which one?? Hounds?? Or Great Game?? Hard agree either way!
@KayKo i thought Great Game was ok, but nothing to shout about.
Great send off to Capaldi
Regarding the cliffhanger, count yourself lucky. We had to wait six months to see what happened next!
I left you my tears remember... Everyone proceeds with a sobby laugh.
Great review my friend. Peter Capaldi is my GOAT for the Doctor. By the way, where did you get that awesome T-shirt? I want one! Also you should check him out on a BBC show called, " The Thick of It." He is probably the most profane character in TV history but Peter's comedic chops really shine.
Ok I cried at this exit for Bill for the first time so I've got that to look forward to every time I watch this one now😂
"Day of the Master" mate does Big Finish have the audio story for YOU

Love rewatching all these old episodes, man i miss capaldi
so hyped for the christmas episode! that was a hell of a ride!
If I had to pick, this would be my favourite episode ever. Phenomenal shit.
For me this comes close but there's a certain episode at the end of season 9 that tops it for me
@@thesounddisciple9213 fair enough.
Capaldi is my favorite Doctor. He embodies this role.
And my favourite finale is here for the RUclips audience... Time to cry again
i really like how 12’s companions both ended with the same fate but under different circumstances; clara died of her own accord after mimicking the doctor too much, but bill died by no fault of her own and was always the one on guard with dangerous situations - kind of placing blame on the doctor as he has a duty of care for his companions. it shows both ends of the spectrum with what travelling with the doctor can do and as sad as it is, i do love it
Oof that was an emotional rollercoaster. Your reaction had me wanting to cry 😂
I am so not ready to see PCap go 😭
@@taladavidson5400 I don't think I ever will be either.
Not again
definitely one of my favorite episodes of DW, so much of it just resonated so well with me. the master dying after finally accepting the good in her is just beautifully tragic on top of the aspects of it that had the two masters cackling. michelle gomez knocked it out of the park with every scene she was in
if you want more missy adventures, I can't recommend the Missy prequel audiobooks enough. it's just more michelle gomez being michelle gomez for two volumes and if you want more missy content it's SUCH a good fix
I was a wreck the first time watching this(let me be honest every time I watch it), CAPALDI is the best Doctor hands down, just an absolute perfect performance as always
The thing I love about the difference in 10's resistance to changing and 12's, is that
10's was out of vanity
12's was out of exhaustion
4:46 That clap was in sync with the Missy/Master high-five.
A great reaction to one of the best stories ever. So well acted by the doctor and Bill Potts. Their chemistry have been solid through the whole season, but masterful this last episode. Missy and the Master do a great work too and even Nardy is doing a good job. No doctor has delivered such a great speech as Capaldi. Before I watched this episode, the 7th Doctor was my doctor. But ever since, the 12th is my doctor. 👏👏👏👏👏
He is and always will be my doctor, my favourite doctor
Twelve is my New-Who Favourite (comes across a lot like my Classic-Who Favourite: Four (grew up with TBaker and you can't take that away from me!)), with Bill and Donna my favouritest (it IS a word!) companions after SJS... I honestly can't wait for @BigFinishProd to get hold of Capaldi and Mackie for some new adventures... (They've only just gone and gotten Nine, so you KNOW it's going to happen eventually!) ;)
Weather you like the Doctor Falls or not you got to admit it was a emotional roller coaster ride.
The bit with the companions saying doctor (and the master) is a callback to i think it was the 5-6 regeneration
A mixture of 4-5 and 5-6. The “doctor” call outs are from Bakers companions. And the Master/Missy ending that are most likely the end of the 5-6 sequence.
Hands down the best reaction to this episode i've seen! - And i'm sure i've seen them all.
Those eyebrows I'm gonna miss thoses
How amazing were Pearl and Peter in this?
I know the puddle girl was a bit of a deus ex machina but I loved Bill so much and she deserved to be alive (in whatever state) and happy so it didn't bother me.
i always cry when i watch a reaction of this finale, i love capaldi so much ♥
This episode hit me hard back when I first watched it, not just because of the events in the episode but because I related hard with Bill this episode.
This two-parter and Twice Upon a Time would have been a great series finale for the show
...there are "fans" out there who think it was.
The reason why Steven Moffat did the flash back to all previous companions from the modern era at 22:50 was that he secretly knew the plans Chris Chibnall had for his version of Dr Who, and knew these flash backs would probably be the last time of the RTD and Moffat era that they will ever be seen. Thank you Mr Moffat, because he was correct.
the realization in his eyes when the first doctor's voice was heard pleaaaase
All these years on and you face lights up even if you see the slightest bit of rose 😂😭
this episode is so fantastic, and the feels. But the next one, oof. I cry everytime
Yay, you're one of the few reactors to show nardoles goodbye
Peter got his dream, he loved the cybermen and left with them, also be prepared for not understanding something in a future series , but it's explained in big finish
You know the most heartbreaking thing? Because of the time dilation, The Doctor missed saved Bill by a literal second of his time.
Hey, if you think they did Bill a dirty...look up Adric some time...
In other words react to "earthshock" from the 5th doctor's series ;)
Yeah but honestly, how many people really liked Adric though... compared to Bill.
Have been looking forward to watching your reactions to this 2-parter and the next xmas special for a while.
Such an emotional rollercoster ride.
Love your reaction so much! It was definitely emotional, shocking, and epic. You did know the whole points.
Love this episode. Great ending to Capaldi's run.
did you notice all 3 regen refs? "I don't want to go" Tennant to Smith, "When the Doctor was me" Smith to Capaldi. "It's started.. I'm regenerating" Tennant to Tennant2.0 :)
Actually all the regenerations were referenced. Either visually or vocally.
THE BEST REACTION EVER! I cried with you 🥺
I like the line from Bill “I don’t want to live if I can’t be me anymore” echoes the doctors feelings on his upcoming regeneration.
What a loved about your reaction is that you've grasped how "end of the road" this episode feels. It's the end for everyone, and although many conclude their arcs better people than when they began, that doesn't mean it's pleasant.
This episode took you for a ride, Michael! It was amazing to see. It is hard to fathom that the show that produced some early silly and campy episodes also manages to inspire in us such deep-rooted hard-to-put-in-words emotions...
This was such an awesome episode, so well-written and acted (especially by Capaldi). I think everyone's got emotional at least once with this one. I also agree with you that it was better and more like Classic Masters having John Simm's Master be more subtle and not so crazy this time around. One thing I was going to note was the scene where we saw multiple types of Cybermen only featured the Mondas/Original version, the RTD-era version and the Moffat-era version. They didn't have any from the 70s or 80s, which had more-blocky heads and silver spacesuits. I honestly loved your reaction to hearing David Bradley's First Doctor at the end. It was such a great surprise that they brought him back for a proper episode. Anyway, I look forward to seeing your reaction to the next episode.
Twice Upon A Time tomorrow yeah?
