Here we are with a bit of a overview and miniguide for Team Awakened Orochi! Not quite the full tips and tricks guide you would normally find on the channel for each character, but I do want to let you know what each character is capable of and gives you a few fun things to look at. Wanted to make sure Orochi CYS got their due on the channel cause there's so much going on in the FGC right now so they get a 3-for-1 video!
They did a great job of updating & balancing their movesets by tweaking existing & adding new ones. My ONLY gripe as a Yashiro Stan is the removal of his Super where he puts his hand down siphoning energy from the Earth & cannons it back in a shot.
Lots more coming on the channel in the few days, not the least to mention a Bridget combo guide, and big tips guide probably at the end of the weekend. Also Orochi CYS is really fun and I can easily see my main team shifting to O.Yashiro/O.Shermie/Shermie cause im just cool like that.
Love how there is a clear difference between people that are hyped to see where the story goes and people who are like why like why these versions of the character's are back especially when people were freaking out rugal is back that's why on my previous comment i said can you imagine in the 2nd season for the 3rd character goenitz is it 🤣
@@Rooflemonger true also i do and don't feel bad for people who don't care for fighting game story's only really some character's and gameplay but that said fighting roaster is very plot driven for example games like guilty gear kof Soulcalibur etc 🤣
@@Rooflemonger I start to have more fun with grapplers before I was mostly zoner or rush characters but. Lately having fun with grapplers and 2 of my friends always got me with those grapplers back in the early 2000s era (2002 to 2008)
I'm loving the new Orochi team costumes and EX moves. Also, the new version of their theme has been stuck in my head since they released. I wasn't sure at first, but now I'm glad they're back. (they could have improved Shermie's barebones kick super tho)
How do you like the music that comes with them overall? They each have slightly different variations of rhythmic hallucination and the remixes of Shemie and Chris's 98 themes
@@Rooflemonger oh yeah I love rhythmic hallucination in this game, especially with the little changes, mad fantasy is one of my favorite tracks so seeing it get remixed was amazing
Thank you sir for this guide, have been really looking forward to playing with the dark mirror version of the 97 hero team. After watching this, I am quite impressed with how SNK has decided to translate these iconic fan favorites. Now that these characters have been included and translated so well, I can't wait to see Vice and Mature return with Goenitz and dare I say Orochi himself. Also does this open the door for the "Awakened" versions of Leona and Iori as well? SO MANY POSSIBLITIES (kneels and prays for the inclusion of Krauser).
Every time I hear that "Hello, and welcome." I get hype. Regular team Orochi makes me think of a bunch of friends in a band who can sometimes get goofy. Awakened Orochi? Creepy cult members who live to serve Mr. Big Snake himself Orochi.
At 3:00 That's not correct. Kof 15 is the FIRST GAME YOU CAN SELECT BOTH VERSIONS of team orochi characters. In all past games (97, 98, 02 and UMs) you cannot select two versions of the same character.
I mean in older games you could select normal Chris and turn him into Orochi literally mid combo and keep comboing when transformed. XV does not let you do that but yeah you could only select normal and awakened in like modified versions of these games.
Great vid but a few notes on O.Yashiro: Hcf+B is a grab, hcf+D is a hit grab that only hits grounded opponents, hcf+BD is a hit grab that can hit airborne opponents (IE cl.C, f+B, CD, hcf+BD). Hcf+p has long start up but is invul making it like Clark's frankensteiner but with less range (decent wake up option against safe jump setup, can be used somewhat as an antiair), f+A can be used to add roughly the same amount of damage as raw max mid fall. If I find stuff for Shermie and Chris I'll make other comments for them.
I'm really enjoying Team Orochi all 3 characters are great in their right though I'm enjoying Orochi Chris a lot more than the other 2 characters beacuse of his moveswt it's just nicely done in 3D that it looks fantastic and his combos are really fun but meter dependent so he's better at anchor position. Their theme is FANTASTIC AF. P.s. Orochi Chris and Kyo are one of those characters that can cancel into blue max mode during mid combo.
Hey roolfe! Would you recommend KoF to someone who has decent knowledge of fighting games? Like let’s say someone no life’s mkx and is currently no lifeing mk11 do decent at the game?
Yeah, for my money KoF XV is the best fighter on the market right now honestly, although its a lot more old school than everything else and there's a higher initial difficulty curve.
@@Rooflemonger ah okay! KoF XV looks fun but I heard that the combo inputs are ridiculously hard so that has kind of put me off since I want to get it in console and Sonys return policy is kind of bs so I wanted your opinion before I threw money into it
@@polarbully3539 If you have a PC I would recommend you to play other KoF games, specially KoF 2002 Unlimited Match which is on every platform (just not on PS4/5 and Switch though) and that would be a pretty good way of testing wether or not you would like KoF XV since pretty much all of this franchise's games are legacy games so you would know how to play most of the characters in XV because 2002 UM has almost all of them. The only new things XV introduced are the shattering moves and the EX specials. Old KoF games are super light so any booting computer could run them no problem. Edit: One more thing I forgot to mention is that XV is actually the easiest to play because most inputs got simplified in this game as is the tendency on new fighting games (maybe one or two characters keep them but most of them are FG standard), the hardest and most complex things to master KoF has are the maxing system which is when you activate the max mode mid combo to extend it and the jumping/hopping because there are many ways to jump. And you could learn/practice all of that in older titles.
Which SNK Bosses Characters would you like to see in The King of Fighters XV in The Next Season for me Krizalid Clone Zero Original Zero Igniz Goenitz Wolfgang Krauser Mr Big Mr Karate Orochi Iori and Orochi Leona
From favorite to least favorite: Shermie, Yashiro, Chris. I normally like the unga bunga characters, but something about O. Shermie's setups feel really good. O. Yashiro is almost up there with O. Shermie because he's a fast grappler like regular Shermie, and I like his playstyle. I don't know why his regular level 3 is a counter or why they made his sideswitch grab an ex move. Those are the only nitpicks with him. O Chris feels worse than regular Chris. I don't like how he feels overall.
the orochi pillar feels so weak.... other throws have screen shake but orochi pillar despite having the pillar and the destroyed ground, it does not have screen shake. i would've liked to see not just screen shake but maybe even half a second or just several frames of pause on moment of impact

I know you're probably really busy with all of that, but do you have any plans to talk about how boss ky is a thing now?
I wasn’t sure about these DLC characters because I didn’t know much about them, but Orochi Yashiro might just steal a spot on my team!
