    10:15. I just found Hoya Rosita at Home Depot last Saturday. They were in small thin plastic pots from Proven Winners! $5.95 a pot. I bought 2 and repotted them together. You should have seen the roots on both of them!!! So healthy and bright white. Insane.

      Yeah I find everything here very overpriced too compare to retail. I’m hoping they are actually distributors for other stores and not only relying for sales from consumers because it doesn’t seem competitive at all

There are some that I am determined to have them when after having them I killed them… I think we learn from mistakes 😮so I try to address my plant from a different angle ❤️‍🔥 thank you so much for letting us know also where to find this place, I’m 9 hours driving south from me… and wouldn’t mind ❤❤❤❤❤

    I used to have a pretty large collection of African violets and streptocarpus. The tiny variegated African violet was actually a miniature AV rather than a baby plant. The leaves will stay small. The "Rob's" in the variety name indicates that it was hybridized by Dr. Ralph Robinson who specializes in hybridizing miniature African violets. If the name has "Ma's" in front, it is a standard African violet hybridized by his wife Olive Ma Robinson. If a streptocarpus has "Bristol's" in the name, that's theirs, too. In addition to hybridizing gesneriads (the plant family that AV's, streps, episcias, etc. are in), they own and operate a mail order nursery in New York. Columnea, nematanthus, and aeschynanthus are also in the gesnariad family. Nematanthus (goldfish plant) usually have shiny leaves and have the goldfish-looking flowers. Columnea's leaves aren't shiny and they have elongated flowers. Sometimes growers will mislabel a nematanthus as a columnea.

    This nursery seems quite expensive. Considering I’m from Canada and the prices seems about the same in Canadian or a couple dollars less and usd currency being 30% more than Canada makes everything at least 30% more. Usually large nurseries like this are outside the city and it usually price it cheaper than retail because it’s out the way for people to get there and make it worth people to drive over. It seems like they price it everything at retail prices at the nursery

    • @Jayl__
      @Jayl__ 11 месяцев назад +1

      Are these normal prices in North Carolina? Perhaps I’m from Toronto, Canada and they are priced way lower because they are doing more tissue culture and this nursery isn’t? Or is just because pricing in North Carolina is just expensive for plants? Thanks for sharing always curious on plant prices in different locations

      The prices here are very cheap for North Carolina. Plant prices vary widely depending on where you live. Sounds like you have great prices where you are!

      @@LifewithAshleyAnita yeah thanks for sharing. I see Toronto having lower prices for once in something. I love watching nursery tours from different areas, seeing what everywhere else has to offer. And also knowledge in prices around too. Perhaps being near Toronto is a huge city in comparison drives demand to give lower prices.
