i’m starting! and actually just published my first video a few hours ago. it was so hard trying to get myself together to actually apply the effort. but the thing is - the anxiety is kind of thrilling? like im aware of the fact that real youtube growth is going to have its ups and downs. but knowing that my efforts will one day show in my channel’s growth is why i feel like i gotta commit 🤷🏽♂️ we gotta get to this youtube bag in 2023.
I RE-started my RUclips journey again this year. In the past I’ve started and quit. I’ve been monetized and deleted channels. But this is what I want and I’m mentally prepared to work for it now. So, I’m practicing and doing the research. Im finding the content that I like the most and I’m figuring out what kind of space I want to take up on this platform. Practice.
I’m on the journey to being consistent and making RUclips the heartbeat of my business and I’ve been binging your channel all morning. I’ve been watching since 2020 and I love how you present the information and still allow your personality to shine. Thanks Erin!
This video really resonated with me. I remember saying I'm going to start a YT channel in Jan 2023 but ended up starting it in 2022 and now have over 1000 subs. So glad I started when I did. Really is no time like the present. Thank you for being so inspirational, love from a UK sub!

I’m so glad you spoke on layering. Up until now I’ve only heard people say find your niche. I don’t have niche. I have so much going on and to offer Lol. So, I’m building. People like my unboxings and I love to shop so I start there and incorporate mom life and self love/care. I’m finally getting the grove of things.
I took the leap at the end of 2022, after dreading RUclips for 2years and told myself that, “I don’t care how I do it, but I’m uploading one video by Dec 31st”. I’m glad I made the jump and just did it. Now I’m looking forward to finding the right rhythm and spending the next few months learning more about YT and areas I can make marginal improvements to increase audience and retention. Thanks always Erin for the practical tips! ❤
I just started my chanel at the end of last year. I've been wanting to for a long loooong time and finally just jumped in. My biggest issue is definitely time management. 3 kids, 9-5 job, hubby works long hours ...it all gets in the way plus art is a very time consuming activity to post about but im getting better each day. One step at a time!🖤
@@ErinOnDemand YAAAS! Shorts have definitely been quicker and easier to do. I've been trying to do at least 3 a week and so far I'm doing pretty good keeping up with that.
The fact you gave different forms of videos to post really gave the biggest push for me. In my mind I feel like the videos I want to make I have the potential to ramble, but I want to do my subjects justice. You really helped me feel comfortable about doing informative short form videos because those are more convenient for me to do.
I was so scared to start because I came in with zero knowledge RUclips wise but then I realized I've been a viewer for so many years I know what I like to see so I went from that perspective and show what I love and hope others love it as much as I love to create!
The one thing that I'm still working on with my channel (especially after rebranding it a bit a few times) is to show as much of MYSELF as I can! Millions of people talk about similar things, but they still get subscribers because viewers enjoy the PERSON behind the camera. Thanks for this!
This was the best video I have watched about becoming a RUclipsr. I started my channel a few months ago, and honestly I kind of got overwhelmed with it. I don’t know what to talk about, how to edited, and etc. I love talking to people in person and I get alone with almost everyone I meet. But taking that energy and putting on camera is difficult for me. I’m definitely going to use these tips this week.
Doing video content is something I want to try in an effort to yank myself out of my comfort zone and share my story + expertise to build community and help someone as well as myself. My biggest apprehension - hence me dragging my feet on starting where I am - is that people won’t engage or that I’ll do it “wrong”. Your videos are so great and your openness is so encouraging for me so I’m going to spend this week identifying some topics that I can dive into and start strategizing my official channel debut. Thanks so much, Erin!
I'm starting my channel this year, I've always wanted to do it! I used to think that I had nothing interesting to tell, I was afraid of people judging me but this year I've decided that I don't care what people thinks, I'm going to start anyways but then I started struggling to find my niche and thanks to your video, now I know what layering is and it has helped me to decide the topics for my content. Thank you!! :)
I have been starting for 3 years due to just fear and overthinking. Thank you for this video what you said about thinking about starting again next year and having to watch another "Just start" video really resonated with me.
Hi Aaron, you hit it right on the nose for me. I have 11,000 subscribers. I’ve been on U2 for a long time. Also I left for a year and a half recently and came back. I was burned out. I had personal issues going on but now I don’t wanna niche like I’m like I hat I want to start layering that’s the technique I need to learn from you I’ll be joining your class. Thank you.
I love how you define it is layering. Because there is so much I want to offer to my subscribers, and I am finally finding a path to do just that great tip. Love you channel always support.
Layering did it for me!! I just started about a month ago was trying to put myself in a box. It wasn’t comfortable because I felt like I was being forced to show certain types of content. Layering is the EXACT term to describe what I want to do with my channel! I just thought you had to pick a few topics. Thank you!😊🙌🏾🥰
I just started literally yesterday! I committed to uploading weekly for a year no matter what happens which has actually taken some pressure off! Thanks for the great info
Yay!! So happy you're committing to that! You got this. Try to remember to come back to this video in a year and give us an update. Put it in your calendar lol. I'd love to celebrate your growth with you!!
@@ErinOnDemand thank you so much! That’s a great idea actually. I am putting a note on my calendar to come back to update y’all in a year! 🫶🏾Thanks again! 🙏🏾
I will be watching all of your content and takeing notes 3 days a weeks is school with Erin. And 2 days is practice what you are teaching meaning playing with the editing and sitting in front of the camera making training videos and reviewing my mistakes. Useing the equipment I have until the coins start coming in from this new business.
I made my channel but I have been so fearful to show my face in videos. Seems like all the channels are of young people so that's one fear. I have been watching you for over 2 years and you are so knowledgeable and willing to share. Hoping this will be the year I get over the fear and just start. Planning to start with just shorts as I have a ways to go as far as editing goes. So I will keep watching and gaining some know how. Thanks for the inspo!
I finally decided to start my own channel. One of my coworkers told me that he loved my perspective on different topics. It’s a grind but it’s something that I can say I’m invested in. Found your channel and had to subscribe. Definitely motivated me to keep going
I honestly have been so skeptical about starting, I've been putting it off for a year and allowed fear to hold me back from doing what i really wanted to do, but I am happy to say that I will be starting my RUclips channel in 2023. Thank you so much for all these helpful tips.🌟
It’s really hard staying motivated. I been on RUclips for 8 years. Posted and deleted MANY videos. Then I would post, disappear for a year then post again. It’s discouraging editing for 2 days to get 10 views. I kept telling myself my life was boring and people wouldn’t watch me cause I don’t have a “extravagant home” or post these lavish lifestyles that they want to see.
I needed to hear these tips especially the tip about layering. I’m always concerned that my content is all over the place but I try to remind myself that everything connects and represents me. Thank you for this advice 😊
I’ve been a RUclipsr for a few years but I always stop and start again. But this year my goal is to be consistent and get monetized 😩 wish me luck. This was super helpful. I love the new addition of the title and description box generator. Thanks so much for sharing that tip!
I'm starting this week! If my 12-year-old nephew can have a monetized RUclips channel, then I can too! This video is exactly what I needed to see, especially the part about layering. I want to be able to talk about ALL the creative things I'm passionate about, especially about fashion and my hand-crafted wardrobe, reading and book collecting, maybe a little music, and then a smattering of gardening and art and decorating.
Erin, I am binge-watching your content, girl you are inspiring me. I pray my channel grows this year, while I learn a lot from you. "Amen, there is room for me" to grow on this youtube platform. that's my takeaway, Thanks as always.
When I tell you Iiterallt have recorded so much content and just haven't put it out due to me thinking "Am I late to the game?" "am I going to be relatable" "do I look like the next person". I feel like sometimes I get stuck in my head trying to keep up with the "Aesthetic" of things. Watching this video just gave me so much reassurance.
I have been making videos for years but have never been consistent. I FINALLY created a calendar of recording days, editing days, and a schedule for uploading!. I am ready to start treating it like a career finding multiple income streams based off of my content. Thanks for the motivation💛
@@chanda-aime6388 I copied Jules Acre’s video called how I organize my calendar and Jade Beesons video called how I plan my content for Instagram RUclips and TikTok
The struggle to start is so Real. I have locked in my name across all platforms, paid for a domain, got equipment, wrote topics/content, applied makeup in efforts of preparing to create my 1st video . . . . and will not stop going down the "research" rabbit hole!?!? The thought of not being able to actually convey or connect causes me to hesitate each day and I am so tired (of myself) for this. It seems most difficult considering I am not truly on any social media platforms (as far as posting) so I'm drowning in info and I'm considering hiring someone to help me at this point because I truly am a fast learner, there's just so many tips and tricks to be mindful of. Erin's videos are extremely easy to follow and has helped me so much.
This was extremely insightful. The major key that stood out to me and is something I will be working on is Story Telling. Not only that but being able to outline my message and break it down so it’s easily digestible. I’ve been putting starting a Channel of a while because I wasn’t confident in the things I would be share BUT NOW I’m Ready to SHARE MY STORY. Thank you for all the videos and insight. Such a blessing 🤝🏾
I loved the explanation of the layering, Erin. Especially since I don't want to make videos on just 1 specific subject and play around with different things.
Thank you, Erin. These tips are so helpful. The concept of layering makes so much sense because I am the multifaceted kind of person who wants to share who I am, not just what I do.
i just started my channel this week and I'm so happyyyy, finally I've dreamed about this for yearss. I was very overwhelmed by the idea my content wasn't good enough, and then I wasn't happy with my editing apps. Just so many excuses! I loved one of your points, the only thing you have to do is sit down and show up. Thank you so much
Girl I feel like you went in with these definitely hitting the nail on the head. I’ve always sorta known these points but you’ve vocalised and even help me to make a distinctive difference of what I was thinking
The layering tip and the feelings that you articulated are spot on. The desire to layer cause me to also get stuck on what I want to name my channel/brand
Erin, you are incredibly intelligent and so logical. I only just discovered you a week or so ago. There is no reason why millions would not subscribe as you are really the best must motivating, inspirational, cheery🎉, business person I’ve come across utube. As I said in my last post, you have the business potential of Oprah. Happy 2023! 🎉🎉🎉
Tip that resonates the most: upload as frequent as you can upload quality content, practice speaking / articulating my thoughts, and what you said about the thumbnails & titles😂 my thumbnails definitely look like every other vlog girls’ thumbnail.. I need to switch it up and make them more appealing … Soooo much great info in this vid THANK YOU Erin 💕
This has been the video I’ve resonated most with on this topic. Thank you so much for your hope and motivation! I’m committing to getting back on track with editing!
Motivation right there! Needed this. As new channel trying to share interracial LDR, travel and visa content, it’s a bit scary but SO motivated now! ❤️🔥
I love how inspiring you are and how you always give your audience exactly what they need to move forward with their businesses and their own youtube channels! I'm entering my third year on RUclips and I must say, I wish I was growing a bit faster than this however I'm also enjoying the journey. Thanks for coming through for us with this solid advice Erin! 🤗
Medicare Momma Here - I thought I may be too "over the hill" to start a RUclips Channel. Yet, my heart (and my granddaughter) felt I had a message to share about living intentionally and aging gracefully. You are the first video I watched and I'm so glad I did. Now to figure out what it all means about thumbnails, editing, etc. Thank you!
This is one of my favorite videos of yours to date! The tip I found most helpful is about layering instead of niching. Watching your journey inspired me to start my channel. I know I’m one of many who feels this way 💛. We love you!
I am get back to consistency starting this month. I am committing to atleast one video a week. Thank you for the tips. I have a full page of notes from this video. You helped me start my channel years ago and today you have motivated me to keep going. Forever grateful for you!
I started a channel in 2022 but then kind of gave up after three months…I was told to narrow down and have niche which proved to be difficult so thank you for talking about layering because it something I have been considering.2023 I am going to try and be consistent.❤️
Thank you , I needed this. I been wanting to start my channel for years and I finally did 2 weeks ago ; it has not been easy. Idk why I thought I had it all figured out but it has been a learning experience walking with God and doing the unfamiliar work . I have to constantly remind myself that know one just starting at something is an expert . Thank you again Erin
I just had one of the worst days in a long time… I went straight home and recorded my first video talking about it and ultimately starting my channel that I have been wanting to do since before the pandemic. I searched RUclips for beginners and this video was an answered prayer! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 😘😘😘 I will be attending the content college you mentioned as well!!!
I know the first hour has passed.. But to answer your question, to start my RUclips channel the steps I need to complete are: -adding a description box -get more comfortable speaking on camera (I feel that will come easy, if you’re speaking about something from the heart) -making my content precise (not too much rambling, but also making sure it flows) Thank you for sharing your tips! I’m starting soon and really asking GOD to knock it out the park for me. This has got to work! 🎉❤
I’m starting!!! 🎉 I don’t have an intro or much yet but I’m confident in the quality of my content and am excited to create consistently after YEARS of putting this off and making excuses for myself due to fear and lack of self confidence. Thank you so much for your videos, you are one of my favorites on here already & I’ve only watched 2 videos of yours so far. Thank you for being you! ❤

Just discovered your channel and I'm binge watching. Finally taking my channel seriously and I grew from having 20 subscribers for 2+ years to having 200+ subscribers in just one month of consistent posting. Now trying to work on making my videos perfect like lighting, thumbnail etc
Thanks, Erin. I came to this video from the popular 2019 upload and I see such radiant growth - it's really beautiful. That was most impactful for me. This will be the week that I start. Period.
I definitely needed these tips! Great video as always Erin 💓 I posted a bunch of videos the last two weeks to prepare for the beginning of my regular Tuesday and Friday upload schedule this week! I’m doing my how to cooking/ educational videos on tuesdays and my entertainment/blog/ connection building content on Fridays 🤞🏼
I absolutely love this topic; I have been procrastinating starting my content creator business for about 4 years because I just couldn't grasp a niche. The thought of just one thing makes me anxious and feeling overwhelmed; building a business in Layers; pure GENIOUS Erin and I really appreciate you sharing this process. I am going to get out my pen and paper today and start planning. Thank you!
I'm starting! I've been sitting on starting a channel so I could really put thought behind it, my problem when I was younger was wanting to do youtube without a plan or intention I just made content whenever. This video was extremely motivational and helpful. I keep telling everyone this is my year, and I'm making it my year day by day.
I'm hitting my 1-year anniversary on RUclips tomorrow! I'm so glad I started last year after wanting to do it for years. 2022 was a wild ride on youtube so I really appreciate this update for 2023 strategy.
Really great tips, Erin! I've always wanted to create content but I've had doubts about whether or not I'm relatable enough or likable enough. I'm also scared of slow growth. However, I'm going to commit to uploading ATLEAST once weekly for this entire year. I've batched my content, and i think I'm well on my way. I look forward to your future uploads.
I decided to start my channel after I decided to be a full time business boss house wife with multiple streams of income. I am in training and learning the best advice is what you said to show and learn something every day.
I finally took the advise and started my channel last week. Those first video were very complicated todo and post but I'm enjoying this journey soo much so it's worth it. I thinks the most complicated thing for me to do will be to stay consistent and patient while the channel is growing slowly. Tell me guys if you're struggling with that too and what you're doing. Thanks a lot for your tips as always Erin 🥰🥰❤
I feel the same way the slow growth is so painful and agonizing and it’s hard when you compare to others that get there so much quicker you gotta pick your self out of the hole every once in a while 💓💓
Yes it's hard but I guess we have to look at we have to go through the process the struggle is real but many blessings and I am going to look at your channel

I want to start off by saying you were such an inspiration to me this morning. I appreciate your transparency and the faith that you pour into us. The message that stuck with me the most was. The more you show up for yourself, the more confidence your going to have showing up. The step that I’m stuck at is editing. I want my content to be great quality, so I haven’t put out because I want to perfect editing before I put it out. I do practice, I write everything down as far as planning my content out, and establishing layers of my RUclips. I’m going to challenge myself to upload my content by February!!! Keep being the great person you’re 💜
Love your content so much. You have helped me gain the confidence to start my RUclips page this year. I have wanted to do this for so long and finally have the courage. 2023 is my year!! Thank you for all of your tips and knowledge. Your helping so many people. ❤🙏
I agree with you about preparing yourself for being on RUclips for a year and not reaching 1k in subscribers. That’s where I’m at now and it’s tough to work a job for a full year without pay in hopes of growing a community of followers. I very discouraging after a year and you start thinking why am I doing this. I’m starting to doubt my efforts and wonder why I’m not growing. I love your videos and I’m glad you made a presents on RUclips and hope I can find some inspiration from people like you to help me continue on my creator journey.

ExactlyYou’re exactly right Darren! You got this though. Just be yourself.
Thank you!! :)
You got this. You can do it👈
I have been starting for 3 years due to just fear and overthinking. Thank you for this video what you said about thinking about starting again next year and having to watch another "Just start" video really resonated with me.
So many gold points as usual, Erin. I started being consistent this year and already seeing growth. Getting closer to that 1k. Super exciting!!
I agree with layering with a niche that's what I currently do on my channel craft tips along with some vlogs here and there. Great tips!!!!
Thank you.
I am starting ... I've let 3 years pass. You are very informative, and I thank you for your transparency.
So excited for you to start your channel this year. Thank you for watching!
I''m starting for the 4th Time & I WILL follow through! Social work, mental health and travel! Thanks for your tips Erin!!
YES YOU WILL!! I'm rooting for you!! You got this! xx
@@ErinOnDemand ❤️❤️❤️
I made my channel but I have been so fearful to show my face in videos. Seems like all the channels are of young people so that's one fear. I have been watching you for over 2 years and you are so knowledgeable and willing to share. Hoping this will be the year I get over the fear and just start. Planning to start with just shorts as I have a ways to go as far as editing goes. So I will keep watching and gaining some know how. Thanks for the inspo!
There are plenty of older men and women who have channels. I guess it depends on the subject matter/content. Don’t be discouraged.
Yess! Keen to see you start your channel !!
Good luck!😊
Gosh! I can relate to this comment! I also need a huge push and her videos really inspire me
The first tip that resonated most for me was layering instead of niching down. The second was that quality and frequency are equally important.
I’m so glad!! You got this!! 🫶🏽
@@ErinOnDemand Thanks Erin😊
When I tell you Iiterallt have recorded so much content and just haven't put it out due to me thinking "Am I late to the game?" "am I going to be relatable" "do I look like the next person". I feel like sometimes I get stuck in my head trying to keep up with the "Aesthetic" of things. Watching this video just gave me so much reassurance.
I love your energy, I started my channel 1 month ago and I am excited for the journey xx
I will start my RUclips channel soon. I’m still in the process of figuring out how to edit my videos ! Thank you so much for your tips
You're so welcome! Excited for you to get started!
Love the tip to layer instead of niche, so helpful! You’re such a huge inspiration for my channel Erin!
I love how you pointed out the speaking aspect, it seems so obvious yet I have definitely overlooked that! Thanks for sharing these with us!
Hey Justine! I'm glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching!
I have been making videos for years but have never been consistent. I FINALLY created a calendar of recording days, editing days, and a schedule for uploading!. I am ready to start treating it like a career finding multiple income streams based off of my content. Thanks for the motivation💛
Would you open to doing a video on your routine? I can't put together a calendar without getting confused
@@chanda-aime6388 I copied Jules Acre’s video called how I organize my calendar and Jade Beesons video called how I plan my content for Instagram RUclips and TikTok
@@KrystalVentures thanks so much!
I am resuming my channel, thank you so much sis❤I have been holding my myself back thinking people ain’t going to watch me
They will Sarah! You just have to consistently create content and they'll come along for your journey!
I loved the explanation of the layering, Erin. Especially since I don't want to make videos on just 1 specific subject and play around with different things.
I’m so glad you talked about layering! I’m so tired of just hair content and want to venture out but didn’t know how. I needed this so much!
So glad this video was helpful for you! xx
Lets Grow Together! Subscribe & Like Recent! I'll Return! Thank You!🙏🏻
I am get back to consistency starting this month.
Aww! I'm so glad my video was helpful for you! xx
I know the first hour has passed.. But to answer your question, to start my RUclips channel the steps I need to complete are:
-adding a description box
-get more comfortable speaking on camera (I feel that will come easy, if you’re speaking about something from the heart)
-making my content precise (not too much rambling, but also making sure it flows)
Thank you for sharing your tips! I’m starting soon and really asking GOD to knock it out the park for me. This has got to work! 🎉❤
I actually started my RUclips channel in 2022 and almost quit this year 2023. The filming, the editing 😭
I’m starting! The fact of worrying about pumping out 3-4 videos a day had me stressed. Uploading quality over quantity resonated with me the most. Thank you for sharing this information and encouraging content! 💛
I started my channel last week! The RUclips extensions you mentioned are really helpful. I'm also making sure I keep in mind quality and building a community.
Erin I’ve been watching you for a while and I must say I learn so much from you. Now I’m ready to apply all that I’ve learned. Thanks girl I’m still watching!

I love that!!! You got this Wendalyn 🫶🏽
This is such a great plan
I started my channel last year and I still love to watch videos like this because I don't think I'll ever stop learning. Thanks for the video 🤎
Thank you!
You can do it👈
I'm starting! I've been sitting on starting a channel so I could really put thought behind it, my problem when I was younger was wanting to do youtube without a plan or intention I just made content whenever. This video was extremely motivational and helpful. I keep telling everyone this is my year, and I'm making it my year day by day.
Thank you so much for watching Reyah! I'm glad it was helpful! I'm rooting for you! xx
Everyone reading this, WE got this! 💪🏼
I'm hitting my 1-year anniversary on RUclips tomorrow! I'm so glad I started last year after wanting to do it for years. 2022 was a wild ride on youtube so I really appreciate this update for 2023 strategy.
This is really good information! Thank you so much for sharing Erin. May GOD continue to increase you ❤
Thank you so much for this Erin! I am rebranding and coming back in February so this videos and these tips really helped! Thank you so much!
Been having doubts too wether am relatable enough or likeable enough ,but hey sis, we got this ❤️
I decided to start my channel after I decided to be a full time business boss house wife with multiple streams of income.
I feel the same way the slow growth is so painful and agonizing and it’s hard when you compare to others that get there so much quicker you gotta pick your self out of the hole every once in a while 💓💓
I used to struggle too, but I found a hack, I'll implement it and see if it works, I should hit 1k sub by February
Yes it's hard but I guess we have to look at we have to go through the process the struggle is real but many blessings and I am going to look at your channel

This is some fire content. I just started and this is my 3rd time making a RUclips but im self driven and you confirmed it for me thank you.
I’ve seen a lot of videos on RUclips tips while trying to get my channel off the ground, but yours honestly is both the most useful and genuine I came across.
You’re so charming, and I wish you lots of creative energy😊
I've been watching your videos for the past 2 years and I FINALLY took the leap and started my RUclips channel! Thank you so much for your content it has been so helpful!
I am going back to continue with my RUclips channel and incorporate all that you have shared. Thanks Erin
Working being more intentional and consistent this year…. Thank you for the tips sis. Love from South Ahh 🇿🇦🇿🇦
