One of the safest car ever. We survived a very bad accident last week 4 of us in sorento in Australia. Car rolled 4 times and was infact intact. All airbags inflated in time....Best car.
I was in my friends car wich was this car and we almost crashed with another car that literally stopped in the middle of the road out of nowhere, it literally went from 60kmh to 0kmh in like 1 second. Thank god for the AEB system
Needless to say I purchased a new SX AWD before watching this video, did my normal research in safety standards and equipment, but I feel even more confident now with owning this vehicle. Solid work on these tests!

Most complete set of vehicle safety tests I have seen. Especially the driver assistance tech, never seen driver assistance tech tested so thoroughly and objectively.

The sorento definitely missed the bike that appeared in the beginning of the video. It stepped over the stupid pad that pushing the dummy going forward.
For me the best safety suv… in 2020 i had a hugh accident vs aveo chevrolet and the damage in sorento was minimum , ( both cross in red light) my mistake i didnt put my safety belt and i had a little punch in my head with the front glass… the aveo was total loss.. sorento just the front but airbags didnt open cause the “sorento skeleton” was so hard that that was really important to conserve it in great shape.. obviously was crashed but really really was incredible the minimum damage .. if you need the video or photos of my accident i can show you and you will surprise how i didnt get hurt and how sorento also survive… my sorento was 2019 EX and in this week im gonna change it for 2023 ex pack version
I’d like to see a tear end collision test. Those fold up rear seats are literally roughing the trunk …. Kind of scary thinking there is no crumple zone back there
I was in an Explorer rear ended by a semi recently. That is why I am here trying to decide what to replace it with. I had a Sorento years ago and so I decided to check the new ones out. The Explorer literally saved my mom and myself when we were hit. It didn’t look so bad until you started looking at the rear doors and under the car. It was folded up under itself and shoved forward. I am looking for something with that same kind of safety now. I wonder if this would be as good?
Honestly I don’t know… not qualified to answer your question. Just got back from a 1000+ mile road trip in my 21’ Sorento but I didn’t want my kids in the very rear . The space between the back of the seats and potential impact of being rear ended is too close for comfort … even if it’s engineered that way
Dont just go by brand name...the quality of same product from differs from country to country..in a recent minor accident in India one of the Kia Motor car broke into TWO pieces...

I agree. We own one. I swear, it can almost drive itself. It's also a great ride ... solid, if that makes any sense. Awesome for long trips. We've done several 3,000+ mile trips and it still purrs like a kitten

I answered my own question this week for anyone who finds my original post The NHTSA redesigned the test to simulate a more realistic size, weight, and shape of a MODERN vehicle of similar size and weight as compared to the decades old standard that they were previously using Because of this the crossover suv has had a difficult time producing high safety standards against itself It’s not much to look at (to me) but Mazda has impressed the heck out of me for quality, value, safety, and reliability and after owning a Hyundai, Kia, Honda, and Mazda I’m fairly confident that my next car will be a Mazda

I think it was the pad who push the bicycle over not the Kia that pushed a bicycle

Debieron activarse como mínimo los airbag frontales, debes ver si en pericias si no estaban defectuosas esas bolsas.
