Contrarily to what Wyatt said, Derke actually did get shut down by Liquid as well even though Fnatic did win the match as well. And Scream called it before as well he said "we are going to shut down Derke" and they did. Maybe what Derke does was actually readable all along.
Derke reminds me of jamppi a lot, but far more consistent for sure. Derke totally dominated v1, kru, NU but was shut down by TL and Sen. He needed to hold himself back and cut the aggression, what works against a team wouldn’t work against others. I used to think he is like tenz but tenz has changed his playstyle completely this tourney and rarely does individual plays or “I will challenge you” kind of plays, Derke needs to read the enemy and understand which playstyle suits which team and adapt.
I think the reason SEN players didn't know about the Tenz signing was to keep the pressure low. If all the players knew about the signing, they might be even more pressured to perform well to show the signing was worth it.
I'm from India, and Valorant is *really* popular with people here. Like, extremely so- it's capturing a huge audience that CS:GO only semi-successfully captured. I think putting Valorant on mobile will absolutely catapult it into the stratosphere here the way PUBG mobile did.
Octopus Omen is a meme , at least to this point. Omen's split is theoretically a radianite experiment gone wrong while he and some of the other agents were at Kingdom. I imagine Cynprel would come on for a portion of a podcast to sum up the lore if you were interested.
As a Brazillian, i love the respect that u guys gave to us when analizing the Masters campaign. I think its because Balla was not in that conversation, that guy is a hater. :) Thanks guys.
Guys you need to talk about T1 and frost. Also the EU shuffle going on rn, sad to see you guys not touching on any of that. Hopefully in the next episode.
Josh being confused by a possible octopus that speaks theory in a game where much crazier shit happens is hilarious and I fully support the omen octopus reveal
Lack of players in sk might be because some of them are in Japanese orgs? I know for apex lots of Koreans are in Japanese teams and I know of two rly talented players on NTH valorant team in Japan. It’s likely that Japanese orgs for valorant currently pay a lot more than korean orgs
I wonder if the popularity of mobile games comes from the fact that every family member has a smartphone but there is probably only one gaming pc in a lot families. So kids stick to what is accessible to them.
I think korea is going to be a regions that looks scary going forward. Not immediately but by the tourney after Berlin I'd say they'll have a team that will be a contender
I'm glad Korea did really well in Master's because Brazil really had an underwelming performance compared to their performance in Brazil qualifiers similar to Turkey in EMEAs qualifier.
Imagine how stacked sentinels are these guys didn't even mention Zombs, Dapr and Sick and they all can go to any other team and be their best player instantly especially Sick
We can't really say that yet. Both EU teams made it to top 2-4, while V1 didn't and Sentinels won the whole thing. Having 1# team doesn't mean that the region is best. But its clear that at this current time NA and EU are above other regions.
I feel like EU teams are great at attack (protocols) but it's a crutch and can't play as reactive thus their defense is not as good. Example split. In NA it's defense heavy yet in EU that map somehow is attack heavy
My question about Valorant mobile is will there be cross play and aim assist? I hope that if there is aim assist there will not be cross play so we don't have the issue that fortnite had where people complained about the controller players having aim assist. Over all, I think that Valorant coming to mobile is a good idea to help bring it to other markets and might bring in new people to Valorant esport.
I feel like NA will only be good at the start when Valorant is still pretty new but once the other regions figure out the defined/ideal meta, NA will fall flat similar to other esports.
"I don't think Brazil was overrated, I just think they were totally underprepared for the tournament." So basically, you overestimated their ability to prepare for the tournament, and therefore overrated them. Lol, Wyatt. Plat Chat WAY overrated Brazil; they got stomped by NA and EU, and they even lost to a minnow region in LATAM.
People are against a game going mobile because they think it tarnishes the "essence" of the game somehow. Like how people think sequels ruin original movies.
While it might look ridiculous, if Valorant Mobile pop off and there will be an esports of it, players are going to turn their phone around like wtf are they doing you might wonder. That is because they are using gyros in the game (3:04) and players who are using gyros are fucking nuts like in PUBGM
The thing about these teams is that they represent their regions and had to go against teams from their region to qualify, liquid and fnatic beat all the big teams they keep talking about, same for NU, they beat VS, same thing for sentinels and v1, they are not sample sizes, they went through a lot of teams to come on top and represent their regions, sentinels for example losing to bbg made them go down to lower bracket, and they faced what seemed to me like 90% of NA top teams and made it all the way to the upper bracket and won it all, fnatic as well they said before they made a lower bracket run as well, to me the teams that went to Iceland deserved to be there no excuses
Quote me on this mobile gaming is a huge thing in Asia. If they release it in China and south asia too, valorant mobile will blow pc valorant out the water. It's what happened with pubg, the mobile version now OWNS the pc version 😂😂
NA is not better than EU because of their small sample size, but how can you say EU is better than NA? Lol. I think both NA and EU stand above all the other regions, neither of them are really much better than the other. The only concrete thing I’d say is SEN is the best team in the world.
Korea won’t be a contender just based on the mathematics of how many people play the game, its not even at a 1% in pc bangs, where is the talent gonna come from? NA, EU will have a way bigger talent pool to draw from as time goes on, if Valorant’s popular doesn’t increase in Korea I don’t see it happening, I’ve kept a look at the public pc bang data since masters ended and Valorant has still not entered the top 10 which would be around 1% play rate, for reference OW is around 5% and LoL is around 48%
YESSS FINALLY SEANS BACK! get him as a semi regular geust please!!
id love to see him for each episode that recaps a major, he has really good insight on the international scene
Can confirm I only started watching ShahZam after TenZ was brought into the team and now i enjoy all the players in the team!
Sean is by far one of the best people to have on the show
wait i just realized that the glow/aura around the other-world phoenix could be the color you choose to highlight enemies in-game
Tenz has the power of anime on his side, which means he delivers on the final match of Tournament Arc
Poggers
Sean: Their communication is on point
Also Sentinels: His stuck in a wall. Im stuck in a wall.
Bad comms now 🥲
Sean is such a great addition to the show!
Plat chat is simply unbelievable

Yea, as an EU fan I was kinda disappointed by Derke basically only relying on skill diffing, he gotta change his approach going into Stage 3 IMHO
I think the reason SEN players didn't know about the Tenz signing was to keep the pressure low. If all the players knew about the signing, they might be even more pressured to perform well to show the signing was worth it.

Lmao Sean wouldnt be saying that he needs a proper sample size to gauge between regions strengths if EU would've won. Sounds like pure copium to me.
