Stars they are different. Rock types use rock, ground types use everything on the ground.

My point is that the ground is made up mostly by rock so it seems redundant to have both types.

Would love to see a beast or feral type too. Something to split the amount of normal types in the games. The idea being that normal types that are predators would get this type, while prey animals/docile creatures would remain normal.

I’ve always liked the idea of a beast type for Pokémon like kangaskhan because I wouldn’t call the normal.

What do you think about a new Rubber type which is opposite of steel?? Its a electricity and heat insulator. Also its so flexible and cant be broken. So It will resist Electricity, Steel, Fighting, Rock, Fire and Ice.
Rubber is also near to Sponge, Jelly, Spring, Foams. There are some rubberlike pokemons too like Woffbuffet, Grumpig, Jellicent, spoink, Ditto, Swalot etc. Rubberlike things are very common in our life. Rubber will be strong against Electricity, Ground and Sound. Electricity will finally get 2nd weakness. Ground becoz we clean dirts with rubberlike things.
I personally think we actually need a type that has some sort of interaction ( resistance, weakness ect ) to EVERY single other type in the game. No neutral hits or damage. It'd be very fun

Strengths
Normal, fairy,rock,steel,bug,grass,ice and fighting because a bomb would blow them up
Dark a explosion would be a effective way to stop a villain for good
Explosive blowing up a bomb on a bomb would blow up a bomb

I feel like cosmic would be such a darn cool type to have in the game along with sound. There would be some cool type combos for these Pokémon
I think Sound And Rubber is the most logical type. Cosmic, Beast, Digital, Food...these types dont give any elemental feeling like Fire, water, steel. But Sound & Rubber gives the feeling.
@hat Nope. Do you have any logic? Rubber is more available in our daily life. Rubber also represents Tires, Sponge, jelly spring, whip coz they all are flexible like rubber. Rubber is an material like thing. I also support Rubber coz its completely opposite of Steel like how Fire opposite to Ice(hot & cold), Psychic opposite to fighting(mind vs muscle), Dark vs Fairy (Devil vs angels).
There are also enough Rubber like pokemons for example: Ditto, Wobbuffet, Wynout, Spoink, Grumpig, Lickitung, Jellycent, Swalot, Gulpin etc.
Its a flexible and unbreakable type that resists hard strong material types. Rubber also electricity insulator. So Electric type will get a new weakness which was highly needed. Rubber will resist Fighting, Rock, steel, electric, Sound, Water.
Otherhand, Cosmic means universe or space. You cant say any pokemon that he is made by Cosmic. Also Cosmic has less relation with other types...I mean giving strength, weakness to cosmic is hard enough. We dont know any behaviour of Alien. And cosmic is mainly related to legends.

Fairy is actually angelic. Angels are made by light. Fairies also shines like light. Thats why they are strong against Dark.
Dark is demoic coz in japanese dark is evil type.
Nuclear is a lot similar to Poison type.
I think only Sound and Rubber is most logical to become new types. And Food, Cosmic at thr second place.
It would be cool if they made the space type "Galactic" and if they remake sinnoh then it could play in the story for team galactic.
I agree, maybe the cosmic space type can replace the water type on Palkia, the steel type on Dialga, and the normal type on Arceus. Come on, we all know that Arceus is FAR from normal.

I would also suggest space type be weak to poison, using a war of the worlds perspective. The idea is that “alien” or “cosmic” beings would not have the immune system to fight off our planet’s infections, viruses, and diseases, all of which I would consider some kind of poison. Unless.....hmm, maybe a disease type Pokémon?
I think space type should be called “void” because that specificity means space with no atoms.

Digital being immune to psychic and being super effective makes alot of sense, cant mind control something without a mind, also advanced software would predict the moves and actions of fighting type pokemon, hence super effective.
Now with the release of scarlet and violet, there are Pokémon that CAN be digital typing to replace the steel type (I’m talking about the Pokémon violet paradox Pokémon because scarlet’s are in the past

Personally I think the Sound type should also be super effective towards Psychic types because of ear worms
Here are some digital type move ideas
Digital vision: alters the opposing Pokemon's vision, making it pixelated. Reduces accuracy.
Compcell: Traps the opposing Pokemon in a computer for three turns. They can escape if they use the computer breaker item (an item that is added to counter this move).
Binary edit: adds a random stat to a random Pokemon (Both on the field and in your team).
Effects can be applying for a status move, increasing or decreasing stats, changing the generation (Pokemon that don't exist in older generations won't be deleted, instead they will be changed to a sprite made for them, and the moves effect changes to the generation)
Digital Destruction: Deals large damage

We do have a digital type... it’s electric. If you want to be technical, then it would electric/steel as a digital or binary signal is simply an electric current flowing through a circuit whose binary value is determined based on whether the signal has a high voltage or a low voltage (ie. 15V and 0V respectively). As for a “virtual” Pokémon, it would again have electric as it’s primary typing, but with ghost as a likely secondary one. Electric is self explanatory and the ghost type would be a result of virtual memory simply being a simulated representation of the amount of data a computer has access to at any given time (This isn’t a very accurate way to describe it, but that would take more words than a RUclips comment allows). This simulation can then be thought of as an illusion, hence the ghost typing (The dark type could also work but I think it would make less sense than ghost in this case).

A good move for the Digital type would be Flash Drive that could be an 80 DMG Physical move that has a secondary effect of lowering Defense by a stage

9:54 I sort of disagree with that Light shouldn't be a type added due to the Fairy typing. My reason being is that I see Fairy and Ghost pairing more together than Fairy and Dark. Also to me Light typing would be more like cool looking warriors rather than the cute Pokemon that make up the Fairy typing. Sort of like Bisharp, Dragonite, and Escavalier. Not saying those should be changed to Light type, but rather pokemon looking similar to those would be what I think Light pokmeon would look like

I thought of something like if Pokémon would add a wind type it could be a 50% chance of being super affective to fire and a 50% chance of Being not very effective because you can either blow out fire or start it up by blowing on it

One more reason why a wind type wouldn't make sense: Wind is basically the special half of flying. Splitting wind from flying would be like splitting the ground type into earth and mud.
But then there's rock and ground, which are very similar.

Must clarify (incase you don't know) palkia is water because the trio represents the three (main) states of matter
Solid (dialga, steel type)
Liquid (palkia, water type)
Gas (giritina, ghost type)
So changing palkias water type would disrupt that.

Also either cosmic type (for simplicity) or celestial type (sound cooler plus leaves the door open for more than just space stuff)

in my region, ferar, i have two new types. energy, and... light.
but my light type is different in a way. its light in the way dark is. it refers to both actual light, and being more kindly. its also follows the "psychic is weak to common fears" in the opposite way. if against a light type, a psychic pokemon sp. def will lower, because its comforted by light. also, light and dark have a dragon to dragon kind of relationship.
I think the space type would sound best being called the cosmic type

Idea on how to catch digital types:a flash drive inserted in a pokeball, it has a chance to catch, and will not work on water types, and for fire types a lower chance. but for every other type it would act like a master balls
this kind of reminds me of violet paradox forms. Like the essence of technology in both are really similar, also the digital type sounds really cool and really intriguing.

As cool as these are I understand why some haven't been implemented. Space/Cosmic/Alien is too vague in what it could possibly do (and has potential political/demographic issues...) and digital is basically electric/steel imo.
Sound would be an amazing type to add, though.
What about Rubber and Oil type?
@@n-zedorai6613 Rubber comes from trees (so grass) and is too specific of a concept to implement in many different ways. Oil? You mean "any nonpolar chemical substance that is composed primarily of hydrocarbons and is hydrophobic (does not mix with water) & lipophilic (mixes with other oils)" Also too specific.
Every type has either strong mythological/symbolic components as well as physical/scientific or both.
@@pango4425 I meant rubbers, tires, very flexible things by Rubber type. And oily, slippery things by Oil type. Rubber comes from trees. Now you can say its similar to grass but nooo. There is water & ice, Rock & Ground, Ghost & Dark which are also similar to each other. Rubber has completely different mechanism like it can reflect any punch and rocks, waterproof, worst conductor of electricity. And electricity will finally have another weakness which was highly needed.
Definitely Cosmic-type is the next way to go. 18 types then maybe a Cosmic typing resisting Fairies, Dark, Rock, Bug, Poison, Normal and Ice but being weak to 'standard' planetary elements such as Fire, Ground and Water would be fascinating. Super-effective with Rock, Bug (naturally), Ice and Dark?
Would also add a much-needed and interesting 2nd typing to Beeheyem, Deoxys, Lunatone/Solrock. Maybe even Cresselia.

When I was a kid I made Glass type it's strong against Flying and Dragon because flying creatures tend to crash into windows. It would be weak to Fire because fire melts glass and Rock because when you throw a rock at a window it breaks.
Cosmic type would be awesome. And it would fit for Arceus, deoxys etc

I think digital type's matchups would be based on whether the type is physical or a concept
Like itd be weak against physical things(steel, rock, etc) but strong against things that are more conceptual(like electric, flying, sound, etc)
Palkia is water type to repersent Liquid, since Dialga is Steel type to repersent Solid, and Giritina is Ghost type to repersent Gas

I think there could be several new types of pokemon like: wood, rubber, metropolitan, rustic, mud, mountain and also astro and electronic, like space and digital in the video
Also something to take into consideration. Dark and Steel were added in Gen 2 while Fairy was added in Gen 6. By that logic, the next new type should be introduced in Gen 10 (such as Sound or Crystal) which is why we haven't seen a new type for a while.

The digital type is a good idea but you can’t cast away the light type with that logic. Imagine the things you could do with it! Like a rainbow castform! And fairy types are usually involved in general folklore, but imagine an angel Pokémon (like a throne angel or seraphim) based off the light type! An Angler fish, or An ice/light type aurora Pokémon, or a northern star!

I think this could be justified, as fire can be fueled by wind, but fast winds can put out fire. Maybe also we could get a type square instead of a triangle for starters, because the four elemental types would make sense for someone to pick from as a starting pokemon. Fire water grass and wind.

“Artificial type” could represent digital, plastic, and inorganic pokemon like trubbish, porygon, and other pokemon. It could be good against electric type, maybe water type, grass type, Ice, and lastly… fairy. And it could possibly be weak against fire, dark, fighting, psychic. It could be resistant against poison, as well as steel.
I think it should be weak to electric because technology shorts out when too much electricity is charged

I think the digital type would be amazing for Miraidon! I mean they are probably making it electric/dragon, but digital would make more sense and is cooler in my opinion.

Rubber is also near to Sponge, Tires, Jelly, Spring, Foams. There are some rubberlike pokemons too like Woffbuffet, Grumpig, Jellicent, spoink, Ditto, Swalot, Lickilicky, Tangrowth etc.
This is what I'll give to Rubber,

Not VE against: Steel, Rock, Grass.

Poison also means pollution, water can be polluted. But not giving Air pollution coz all creatures take breath from air not only birds.
Sound moves 15 times faster(5150 m/s) in steels than Air, so sound is SE against Steel. Sound is SE against Psychic & Fairy. Coz psychic's cant concentrate due to noise and Fairies have a weak nerves. Sound weak against water coz water muffles sound. Also nobody can create sound underwater coz if u open mouth to create sound, water will get into your mouth.
Grass is SE against sound coz cotton can isolate sound, trees can block some sound and trees are quiet. Rock SE against Sound becoz hills and walls can reflect sound.
Also Poison will be immune to sound coz generally poisonous snakes hearing range is too low(10 - 600HZ only).
Dragon should be weak against steel instead of dragon coz at the end, the knight slays the dragon. Also there is no strong logic for dragon weak to dragon rather dragon vs dragon rivalry ends so early in battle which doesn't give fun. Giving dragon SE against Normal just to give dragon strength.
Dark and Fairy both should be SE against each other coz angels and Evils both works against each other and wants to harm. Also "good will always prevail" this already applies for fighting so no need fairy again and this is not correct everytime. Fairies also represents Light and Light and Darkness opposite of each other and Super effects each.
Rubber is Electricty insulator, Soundproof and we use rubberlike things to vlean dirts. So its SE against Electric, Sound, Ground. Rubber also resists Steel, Fight, Rock, Water, Sound, Electric. Some acids distinguish Rubber and Ice makes rubber brittle. So its weak to Poison & Ice.

I work on a region with digital type.
But before that gets 100% of my attention, I finish my other three regions, the region that's based on the hole on my wall, the region based on Socialization between humans, and the region based on Germany.

Beldum should have a Galarian Digital/Psychic form, one where the Meta in Metagross stands for meta instead of metal, and the design of the Pokemon should look a bit more like how you'd represent data physically in a lot of media if you know what I mean. It wouldn't be a solid Pokemon, but instead, its body would be some polygons floating around its red eye like clusters (in a similar shape to the original Beldum, of course). I can imagine it looking really sick once it evolves into Metagross. Digital/Psychic would be a cool type combination to represent data and a more software-oriented Digital type, instead of a hardware-oriented one.

I think fish, reptile, and bird type should be a thing. The bird type could be a different thing than flying because not everything that flies is a bird, but flying to refer as wind/air doesn't make sense. Fish and Water could be along-side each-other. Reptile could be many pokemon as well. It makes sense because of dragon, bug, and fairy type existing.
Having come back to this now after Gen 9 has dropped, Game Freak missed the opportunity on that Digital Type with the Future Paradox Pokemon
