What I normally do when I go on a smoke break is I’ll take a walk and listen to guitar songs and just practice trying to “feel” the rhythm by air guitarist with my right hand (strumming hand) off of my leg as I walk… I’ve found it easier to practice “feeling out” the strum pattern as apposed to practicing and trying to remember stuff like DD UDUD DUDU… trust me, it helps a lot. And remember, music requires soul and FEELING.
