Loving that little mohawk he's rocking. and his friendship with the cat has me tearing up. Animals that get attached to their owner's babies are so precious. I hope y'all have a great last day of the year and a good 2025!!
😂 the whole spirit baby thing is Mormon. The belief is that spirit babies are waiting and they got to give those spirit babies bodies. So nope- his spirit hasn’t always existed but now, he always will!!! Congratulations!!! He’s beautiful!
We have such a similar experience with our babies. My first baby turns one tomorrow, and we had so many struggles with feeding and pumping and all that. Then she just got it at about 4.5 months old, now she's been exclusively nursing (and now solids too) since then! It is possible for them to figure it out when they're a little older! Great job keeping it up, pumping is SO exhausting, I was about ready to give up when she finally got the hang of it. She's also been on the potty for about a month now, she picked it up so quickly, I was going to start from birth but we had an unexpected month long stint in the NICU, so I just went with cloth diapers and didn't end up getting her on the tiny potty until a month ago. She picked it up SO quickly, she will be fully potty trained as soon as she gets the hang of telling me when she has to go, so far she's not so good at that piece, lol, I just try her every 1.5 hours and that's been working great.
Happy New Year! So thankful for the wonderful blessing the Lord has brought into your lives this year! May your next year with Owen be even more precious than the last!
Thanks for sharing about the sleep regression experience. Our baby is about the same age and she was sleeping great - like 10+ hours each night, rarely even waking once and even then I could usually just rock her back to sleep without even nursing. But we all got sick this past month, and sleep has been a STRUGGLE since, (like, 5 wakeups last night 🤪). I’ve been feeling like what am I doing wrong? Glad to know we aren’t the only ones experiencing this!
Jordan and Sara, I'm glad God has helped you both in your marriage and with parenting. And good job Jordan for finishing the sanding 👍 may God bless you and your family in this coming year. Happy New Year! Also how did you guys work on training Owen how to sleep without having him cry it out? Did you stay with him at first 'til he would fall asleep or is there some other method?
I definitely think that marriage can be tested and also improve all at once when you start to have children. I love it, but I have three. The first is the hardest. Owen is looking healthy and seems to be doing great. Good job to you both in how he is growing. I really am impressed by the potty training you are doing early. I know you like to accomplish goals, so I think you will get that basement done when you can. I always tell people to take things easy and not do things that stress them out when they are parents. Just do it all in time. Happy new year!
My children are grown with their own families, but when I had my two sons, I never used a pump. I just nursed. I see my younger nieces pumping and it seems exhausting.
What was the sleep training that yall did? Sounds like it was really successful! And it's so cool yall are teaching him to use the toilet at such a young age!
Getting sick must be a blessing in disguise. I was struggling with supply at the beginning with my baby, and when we got sick, she wouldn't take bottles and it forced to me nurse 24/7 and that boosted supply ❤
Animals are so strange about babies. 🥰 Some have this understanding that this is a small fragile thing that must be treated with care, while some are just unsettled by a baby’s lack of control, or just don’t understand that they’re different from the rest of us. 😆
Pumping like that is soo hard. I pumped for the first couple months until my 5lb baby got to 7 months and had the cheek strength to get enough nursing. Every 3 hours breastfeeding and then pumping. I couldn’t have done it if my husband didn’t work from home! Once it clicked it was worth it. Now I have to figure out how to get my 2 year old weaned 😅
0:24 yeah that's not biblical. That's from Mormonism. God knowing us before we were born is about Him knowing everything, not us existing as eternal spirits.
Haha yeah, it's definitely not. God "knew us before the foundation of the world" simply means He had planned on creating us and all our unique personalities, not that He literally was talking to us back then.😂
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the doctrine of the pre-Earth life is one of my favorites! We explicitly believe and talk about how babies were spirits waiting for their turn here on Earth, and that God entrusts them to our care. ❤❤❤ So great to hear from you!

😂 I was hoping somebody picked up on how LDS that whole thing was
Glad to see an update! Having a baby is such a learning curve, with many changes along the way. It's wonderful to see your little family thriving! 🥰
HE IS ADORABLE.
Love the update and the honesty! You guys are doing great and Owen is lucky!
Happy New Year to you three! May God bless you greatly in 2025! 🎉
Our baby loves our cat too! It's so cute how he gets excited when he sees the cat.
Aww I love this update. My niece is 6 months now! Babies are such a gift.

Ohh, please do a video talking about the no cry sleep method!! And maybe talk about any resources that are helpful!!
happy new year. great work with the basement
Can you talk about the no cry sleep method? This sounds like the elusive middle ground option that no one talks about 😅😂
Yes, please! I've never heard of this, and now I really want to learn!
Look up "Sleep Lady Shuffle" :)
Happy New Year! So thankful for the wonderful blessing the Lord has brought into your lives this year! May your next year with Owen be even more precious than the last!
LOVED hearing from you guys!!! Thank you!

Such a cute family. Have a wonderful new year from northeast Missouri.

Sorry to hear about your sickness and struggles. Praying for you all!

So wholesome
I’ve said it before, but thank you guys for sharing your life. ❤️ What a treasure! And Owen just keeps gettin’ cuter! 🥰

I think y'all are doing a great job! Keep it up 💙
0:57 Bro preaching straight up Gnosticism up in here 😂
Can you do a video on how you are doing the potty training?
Agree! I've never seen a 5mo old getting potty trained, that's so cool. Please make a video on this!
Getting sick must be a blessing in disguise. I was struggling with supply at the beginning with my baby, and when we got sick, she wouldn't take bottles and it forced to me nurse 24/7 and that boosted supply ❤
God gave Owen amazing parents😊 Keep going, guys💕

I had to exclusively pump for 5 months with my first, and that was SO hard. 😅
Pumping can be a blessing or a curse! 😅
Good news Jordan, Im apparently the 667th view on this video. You’re welcome.
Cute baby! Where are his socks? Babies feet get cold too you know?
You sound like the Origen of Alexandra, with the whole soul thing although his theology got called a heresy.
0:24 yeah that's not biblical. That's from Mormonism. God knowing us before we were born is about Him knowing everything, not us existing as eternal spirits.
😂 Jorden the idea that a spirit baby comes down to you is common and Mormon or LDS teaching. I’m sure it’s not entirely unbiblical.
Haha yeah, it's definitely not. God "knew us before the foundation of the world" simply means He had planned on creating us and all our unique personalities, not that He literally was talking to us back then.😂
Alright, time to make parenting videos. Your sleep journey. Your potty training journey. We would love to know more details!
Are you morman, Jordan?
No.
