    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
    The Center for Taxpayer Rights is bringing you training on litigation of tax collection issues particularly as these relate to low-income taxpayers. The focus will be on collection due process proceedings, both at the administrative level and as a litigation matter in the US Tax Court. Related topics include determining the validity of the assessment, issues associated with the administrative record, and the burgeoning litigation related to jurisdiction issues in the US Tax Court.
    Make a Difference! Volunteer for the LITC and Help Litigate Cases for Those in Need
    Over the next few months, the Center for Taxpayer Rights in conjunction with the Tax Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, will provide free training sessions. These sessions are designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to effectively represent clients as a volunteer. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and make a positive difference for low-income taxpayers. We encourage you to sign up to volunteer with LITC Connect!
    Interested in pro bono work? The Center hosts LITC Connect, a project that will help you provide pro bono assistance to low-income taxpayers. Joining is easy and free. Once you register, you’ll be matched with vetted clients, and will also be able to receive additional training or support to facilitate your representation. You will be covered by the Center’s professional liability policy for cases assigned through LITC Connect.
    The Center for Taxpayer Rights is looking for passionate attorneys like you to join us in supporting low-income taxpayers in need of legal assistance. As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact by representing clients in tax controversies, advocating for their rights, and helping them navigate the complex world of tax law.
