- This episode I picked up a lot of NEW weapons in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. But hands down, the Dragon Hunter's Great Katana has to be the most broken weapon we played with yet

@@MasterCube33 If you're talking about Mesmer, then he likely won't struggle as much. He's much more pattern related and bears similarly to other elden ring bosses for most of his attacks. Now the final boss on the other hand (whom i wont spoil), and the frenzied lame lord........ oof, that's gonna be hell.

Did no one use the sword they gave it’s essentially the Storm spear or that other spear in rykard fight, it’s too good for dragons,
He is very epic. He is hard but he is not as bad as some others.
Glad you went exploring. This DLC will ACTIVELY punish you for not seeking upgrades. Don't be too concerned with the Scadutree blessings, the only people who will beat the DLC without them are the kind that could beat these games easily on a donkey kong bongo.
With the right builds and some skills, you can definitely beat a lot of the bosses summonless with a fairly low scadutree level. I say a lot though, because I just got to the final boss and I don’t know if this is doable with scadutree level 7…

@@trentjennings7782 fairly certain it’s intended to be two-handed on it’s own, but you could probably powerstance it with another light greatsword? haven’t tried that
@@trentjennings7782 I put ice and thrusting strike with the two handed talisman. I stagger in just about one or two hits with the ash and ice procs. The movement is so good you just combo right into the heavy and do damage beat down. I use summons but that got me through just about all the main bosses. By putting cold damage on it I get a magic boost and it has B scaling.

The problem with Afro is that he doesn't manage his stamina. He attacks when he's out of juice and then glitches into a loop wondering why pressing circle doesn't work...

Afro doing the sidequest with the guy in pain in the ground lets you fight one of the coolest and what many people think is the hardest boss of the dlc, you don’t technically need to do the sidequest to fight him but you get that guys armor and stuff if you do
If you talk to the Dragon Priest Lady and get the blessing then kill the two drakes fighting in Jagged Peak. Then kill the ancient dragon in the cave then kill Bayle you get the priest heart which lets you turn into a dragon until your next death it’s reusable too
Not a single person thinks that the hardest boss in the DLC isnt the final one lol

21:18 if you're wondering why it did so much damage, it's because both the sword and the projectile hit which caused in taking double the damage

Yeah, but it's good damage from a distance and rarely misses if they're grounded. Also they hit HARD.

@@farhan70 they still did work for me, and like I said, it's not JUST the great sword attributes golden wave is a room clearer too.
Almost certain that he doesnt have the right stats as well. Cleared the dlc in a faith build and its harder but not to this level lol (edit: just saw his stats.....yeah dont know why his damage is so low hahahaha)

FOR Rellana, it is possible to use a lot of jumping attacks but you really gotta know her moveset, like a lot of bosses her hit boxes are precise and can be ducked under by the landing animation for a jumping attack.
That screaming npc has a quest that's pretty fun, just continue through the door after the dragon man boss and scale the mountain.
There's other great katanas you can find and there dual wield move set is pretty nice

Honestly, I watch Afro play games to remind myself that not everyone can just immediately understand what they're supposed to do in any given game, and I am very lucky to have gained the game sense that I have.
That sounds so egotistical and patronising to be honest.

@amyford2971 its not egotistical at all. I am by no means "the best" or even top 1000 when it comes to any game, but I can understand things very quickly compared to most people. I remember hearing it took people HUNDREDS of attempts to beat Midir, yet it only took me like 25-30 tries for my first win against him, and each time after, I was beating him in 1-2 tries. Afro is very much an "Average gamer" and has a hard time executing stuff that a lot of souls vets or "above average gamers" who are new to the series consider trivial at this point. Also, I really dont see how saying Im thankful that I gained the knowledge and sense I did that allows me to be as good at games as I am is "egotistical". I could see how you might call it a humble brag, but I literally called myself lucky, as in, if I hadn't been lucky I might not even have been AS good as Afro(which would be tragic)

That side quest to fight Bayle is no joke. Most difficult boss I’ve fought so far. Also those swords are nice because they hit around shields since they’re curved blades.
Slumped Bayle today I thought Renalla was harder tbh.

reading messages is actually helpful for example the stone guys some messages tell u u gotta knock em and stab their backs. Also one message made me find this secret armor i wouldve never found
One message said "Message therefore explosion" (something around those lines) and I stopped to read it and got exploded.

afro just to remind you bleed scales with arcane. If put bleed in any weapon, put equal parts of dex and arc . Dex increases the raw dmg and arcane increases the bloodloss buildup.You can check the bloodloss buildup at the bottom of the weapon. My nagakiba has a 115 bloodloss buildup with 60 dex and 55 arc. it inflicts bleed in 2 hits

6:00 He's referring to the strongest dragon boss in the dlc. Bayle the Dread. Pretty long side quest, a lot of dragons along the way and different rewards.
Afro for ur controller when using the backhand blades they u can aim the stick left or right to control which way the blind spot ash moves and that dragon katana does more damage passively to dragons

farming at mohg's kinda makes the holding of runes not feel as important. for low levels, for sure, but it takes me 1.4 mil runes to level up so 500k runes is just change at that point
I mean he isn't trying to level up anymore tho, he was 150 for pvp and didn't plan to go any further, also it really isn't THAT expensive to upgrade new weapons to max with how many runes you get in dlc

I used the backhand blade, milady an a shield found in rellanas castle thingy and later on a dark katana (avoiding spoilers) for most of the game, I hardly had to respec
The beast claws from Logan the one you beat near the start of your playthrough REALLY helps with relana, the bleed stack at 24 - 25+ smithing enhanced is CLUTCH also don't be afraid to use a mimic tear this dlc will "tear" you apart lmao

Top of the hill that you were using for leveling if you look over the edge where the side of grace is, you will see a bird thing that you can kill to get yourself a lot of souls
Glad to see Afro got some new weapons he's really moving also that NPC with the broken leg I find way funnier than I probably should lol

You gotta do the igon questline, it can be pretty confusing so i suggest ItsShatter’s tutorial if you get stuck but the final boss of the quest is very worth it and one of my favorite fights in the game.
4:32 I used that rune strat today! Plus if shoot an arrow at the big bird in the area across the way it’ll run off the cliff and give you even more runes

Golden scarab and haligtree guards and couple rot knights was my go to for rune farming

side with Hornless instead of Leta- you'll see when with summon signs. it's essentially better bloodhound, since it adds a Waterfowl burst when you dodge; and has more I-frames
I picked up the backhand blades and never looked back ✊🏼. You can get them right at the beginning when you spawn and they have an invincible roll counter attack…just lovely.

If you like the great katana and want to dual wield you can go get the base great katana in the light blue lake in the middle of the map on the ground by the dragon… i have yet to find another great katana but know theres at least 3 of them including the base one and the one you found in this video. Ill be looking for another one later

the backhand blades have a really strong running r2. Just letting you know it’s so good for hit and runs on tanky enemies
The backhand blade scales off dexterity so you need a high dex stat for it to do more damage

4:10 The insanity I put myself through grinding runes to max level in that spot can only be described as just that… pure insanity
Backhand blades are my new fav weapon, #2 of all souls games only below the Farron Greatsword. I've been using the Backhands constantly and have never put them down.
afro if you want to farm some runes by the good old spot you should get the golden scarab talisman,it’s the one that increases the runes obtained by 20% upon killing an enemy.

for anyone stuck on rellana, i was on claws but one R1 will do 2 attacks so even if its a fast weapon youre locked in an animation. i switched to godskin stitcher and got her first try, also she ends most of her attack chains with BOTH her weapons, thats your opening. just be patient

Hey Afro, if you’re gonna run the great katana, I recommend putting an affinity on it that increases the bleed amount. You can look up how to do it it’s op.

I literally ended my play session last night after getting this (the great katana) and immediately upgrading it to +9 and killing the ancient crag dragon - or, whatever it was called - right after this. I still haven't finished Farum Azula 'cause I wanted to see if Melina'd get any new lore shit with the game, but since that seems that's not the case I'mma burn someone to get access to the last bell bearings.

How do you feel about the godskin peelers they deal bleed and they have an animation were they stab them selves to boost damage. You can duelweild them and use the claw talisman to boost jump damage. The reason I say that is because the jump attack is pretty fast
Afro u can go to the caves! However to defeat the rock guys u have to hit them in the red gem behind them. 1 charge atack in that place can stun them.
Try using the Tooth Whips power stanced. Those things actually do nutso damage

I'd say the damage for backhand blade vs golden order greatsword is good, because you're build is built around that weapon Atm and it's a somber greatsword, so it's gonna do good damage against regular enemies
