She's too old. She's 20 years older than Ariel, and in a movie that really wouldn't work. It would be better to find some young, talented, relatively undiscovered actress for Ariel.

@@melissam597 She'd be good as Elphaba too but I think Galinda is perfect for her because she can really pull off that style that sounds like a mix of operatic and musical theater singing. Plus she has a really high voice

Also her voice has changed. As you age your voice matures, as well as your singing voice. Plus add to the fact that she has been singing in much more operatic styles of shows, so her technique and voice had adapted into that style.
