If you ever find a copy of Tony Carey 16 Rare Tracks, grab it. It is a treasure! Tony was doing some “reunion” concerts with Rainbow in the past few years with Ritchie Blackmore’s son playing guitar. He looks exactly like his dad and plays like him.
Wow! You don’t see many Tony Carey reactions. I have almost all of Tony’s albums. Tony moved to Germany many years ago for some reason. He is a great singer songwriter and plays EVERY INSTRUMENT on many of his albums. “Blue Highway”, “Carry My Love”, “Match Girl”, “Out of Town Woman”, and “Letting Go” are some favorites although he has so many great songs. His alter ego The Planet P Project albums have been described as his science-fiction themed, progressive rock/space rock music, per Wikipedia. I don’t know if I necessarily agree with that though. His Concept Album, Pink World, was about surviving a nuclear event and the songs basically started AFTER the event as you came out of the fallout shelter and the world that you found that was left and things that you had to deal with. The song “The Boy Who Can’t Talk”, is a favorite of mine from that album. As it’s a concept album, and double album at that, it should be played in the order on the album all the way through. I’m going to put a link for “Letting Go” below. It was about impossible to find on RUclips as it isn’t labeled the best for a search to find it. Just listen and enjoy it. I went through a divorce after 35 years together and 32 of those years married, and raising 3 kids together. I always loved this song, but after my divorce, it really hits home.
