What a cute and fancy birds searching their food in the water. how much cute and amazing birds and one is hatching on the surface of earth sitting in the nest. How she protect their eggs and also their babies. I am so astonished to know about them.
The first water bird in this video...we're surprised how vulnerable that Snipe's nest is and how easily accessible to any air, land and water based predators! The pink clusters of eggs on the marsh reeds are Apple Snails, you can see two of them as the Snipe strolls back to it's nest 30 seconds into this video. I've seen them in my lake canal and when mature the snails are quite large and some are the size of a Granny Smith apple. Early spring, Limpkins fly in to dig the snails out of the mud and my back yard. Snails are Limpkins primary food source. Limpkins are fascinating to watch and quite comical too! Many different bird species frequent our lake canal, yard and sky above; Sandhill Cranes, Great Blue Herons, Green Herons, Egrets, Owls, Hawks, Osprey, Bald Eagles and several songbirds. The wildlife in North central Florida's Harris Chain of Lakes is abundant and diverse!
