Hey Cole, as a retired wildland firefighter. In my old job we would always tell people what you already know. The safest and best time time burn is wintertime when the ground is completely snow covered. a little tip that we would share and I will pass along to you also is this: Cover a small portion of the pile with a cheap tarp and then wait for Winter and snow cover. Just covering a small part of the pile is all that is necessary to get your pile going. Hope that you find helpful. Oh and I really enjoy you and "Brains" videos. 😉
@@blister762 omg- I LOVE Alice’s Resturante! We’d listen to it every Thanksgiving, and since it alone is so long, it was a great sing along! Thanks for the reminder and a good memory! It will be stuck in my head all day now. ❤️
I pray 🙏 for your cattle. I have your area on the weather channel. -40* wind chill is bad. Give them extra protection and protein. Stay safe and warm while tending your herds.
Cole, ya gotta regale us with the story of the snow blower turret. What was wrong, who missed what and how it was fixed. Dont be ashamed. Everybody has had a brain fart at some point, but they make great stories. So you tell us or let Brian provide the narration as only Brian can do. I promise you we've all been there so we won't laugh. Maybe some chuckles and a guffaw or two, but no laughing. Well, maybe a little, but no gut busting laughter. Hopefully. Anyone who wants to hear what happened give a thumbs up to give Cole some courage.
Break out the marshmellows!!! Those fans should push the air that will allow cow comfort👍👍You're doing everything to eliminate the muddy pens, scarping around the feed bunks, water trough etc. Stay safe and warm-
Good afternoon, thank you very much for your reponse and sorry it took me so long getting back to you. I can only speak for our Dairy Farm and we wouldn't have a pile like that. We are into recycling that would benefit us.@@anthonyrowe7566
American Pie in my opinion the Number 1 Rock Song of all time. Hard to beat. ‘70’s music. February 3 is the 65 Anniversary of the crash in an Iowa cornfield.
Those high downward blowing fans will make a big difference, that heat up there is better served being blown back down. That song of the day is loved and again hated by many. I myself liked it, my older sister hated it, it's long but it tells a story. I hope you guys are ready for the real cold of winter, it's on us now.
Great vlog Cole & Brian... I was singing AMERICAN PIE right along with Brian 👍😁 You all start my day off in good positive way... Hugs & Blessings to you & your Families ALWAYS 🙏❤️💙💖💙🐕...💙🤗✝️
I love a good snap-crackle-pop!---I'll be singing American Pie for hours until I go to bed now!---Cole, I gasp for that knee. Uff da.---I enjoyed seeing the bright lights in the shop, & looking forward to seeing how well the fans work in the barn!
Technically we got a two for one on song of the day with Brian singing “I believe I can fly!” With that said,,,, I here by submit for your approval, that the first bull clave born,,,, is named after yours truly! Brains biggest fan. And not by weight, but because team dad.
I can’t wait until Cole’s welding project. We have been enjoying our Sonne Farms beef. I don’t think that I will ever go back to grocery beef. Thank you for taking care of this year’s delicious beef. 🥩 Enjoy this little downtime with y’all’s wives-a farmers wife is hard. Thank you for bringing us along during the odds and ends jobs-love it.❤❤❤
Another fine video. Always love seeing those beautiful cows. And I am always impressed at all the skills that Cole has. He is a jack of all trades and good at them all!! Brian, never mind American Pie movie. No connection with that popular song. Be proud of your son who has "clean hands and a pure heart."
You all make me laugh. I especially like when Cole has no idea on your song choices. I am right there with you. Can't wait for the baby calves. Stay warm. We are snowed in here in Arkansas.
Y’all got about as much snow as we have here in Missouri. I know y’all are colder there. People are gearing up for the game tonight. It’s crazy! I hope y’all are staying warm. Thanks for sharing your experience and life with all of us. ❤❤❤❤
So far we've been lucky not having a lot of snow, but I don't want to speak out of turn, looks like you guys got it. That's nice that you have that concrete for the bulls bedding to go on. Never gets dull on a farm, does it. Enjoyed watching, as always, I hope your weekend goes great. Thanks
Tell Tami I am sorry . but I sent Ellie some more "Stinky" Cod skins since she is land locked and needs her sea food....lol...... I love your videos. We need to see more of Tami and Tiffany.........
Hey Cole, check out your friend Mike at Our Wyoming Life. He reworked a wire fence gate with neat tools. Enjoy your videoes and the great banter between you and your dad. Stay warm.
Thanks for another great video Cole. It was interesting for sure. Lots of variety on this one. Getting a lot of busy type jobs with things slowing down a bit before caving. Yeah. You got the fire going to burn off your old wood and trees. Good job with the flame thrower. Dangerous machine. Your cows look real good that you visited in the field. Nice looking cows. Hydraulic hoses and fittings always have a tendency to leak. Hopefully you tighten them will stop the leak. Will be anxious to see what you and dad are building. Has hydraulics so should be interesting. Waiting for you to show us. Slower time for you and dad. I am ok with the fewer videos for a while. Do understand the situation. Thanks for everything Cole and Brian. Be safe and take care. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Cole. I am a farmer in Southern Ontario. I also have a utube channel called Soybean Man I watch every one of your videos. I am not sure I can get through January with only two videos a week. I look forward to videos. I on other hand do not post many. I find it hard to find the time. Keep it up
Don Mclean said when he let Weird Al do a parody of that song, he had trouble performing the original because the parody stuck in his head more than his song.🤣
😂😂 you young fire bug, I love to light up a good fire after a good first rain. Love the smell of our gum tree’s burning 🔥 roast a marshmallow or two and snagger (sausage) on a stick. 😋
You can really get hot doing a job like that. Weinie on a stick hot. 🔥🔥 American Pie.... The anniversary of the plane crash that inspired that song is going to be here in a couple of weeks 😢.
What id do to have that snowblower right now! Rural central iowa and 1 winter storm and a blizzard within a week and we got 16” of snow. Stuck in our house. Drifts big enough that my plow can’t get through. Waiting on the county plows to make a pass on our road. I don’t like being stuck! -16 and -45 windchill not great on the animals….But I guess I got some sonne farms videos and Brian’s singing to get me by 😆
Cole, are you planning on offering more beef boxes? If so could you include some roasts? Thanks, I really enjoy your channel. I am a SD Mines alum and enjoyed my time in South Dakota. Great folks out there.
You should look into SK/ Bonney angle wrenches Cole. They come in handy when you don’t have much throw on a regular wrench, y’all stay safe and keep em comin guys🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸Merica
Years ago before I was working on my uncle's farm, a neighbour's barn self ignited from hay being stored in the barn. It was almost a comedy of errors. The town's firetruck was in the shop to have its engine rebuilt. Then when the firetruck arrived, the water dribbled out of the end of the firehose. . . . oh boy! My uncle said the embers were glowing just right for doing hotdogs. He felt like asking, "Would you mind if I roasted some wieners on your fire?" Of course he did not show a lack of respect like that!" That was 1961. Of course, moisture meters now show if hay is too moist to store. By the way, I was hired to install siding on their farmhouse. . . . $5 per day including room and board. . . . those were the days alright.
I saw a flatbed trailer that was hauling round bales and smoke was coming from one of the bales ....I tried to get their attention but they never noticed....😮
Let's have a Brian Sonne concert of favorite songs! Your singing isn't half bad Brian.

I was hoping for Alice's Restaurant.

Plain and simple Sonne farms, this is just a great video! Thank you!!!!

Surely in that pile there could be some firewood for a wood burner!🤔

May each of us become as integrated with our lives as you are with yours.
Good on you ❤️
Them good old boys were drinking wiskey and rye. Singing this will be the day that I die....
love the lines

Good choice for song of the day today Mr. Brian. 👍
Lol I like how Brian is hanging on for dear life when Cole is driving the gator lol

best greetings to your dad! i'am from east Germany, but i know the Song of the day. You must learn many things from the elder generations 😉
Great job. Animals are looking great shape
Don Mclean said when he let Weird Al do a parody of that song, he had trouble performing the original because the parody stuck in his head more than his song.🤣
See Cole, all your dad had to say was “open says me” and that gate opened just like that 😂😂😂
Thanks 👍 and GOD BLESS 😀
Your cattle look good and healthy.
You guys do great work !!
Ha! American Pie reference. Cole is so young....
Cole you look a little dangerous in that flamethrower apparel!! Heifers at the end eating pearllets sure look nice and ELLE. THANKS AGAIN!

I bet Cole would have stories about band camp.
Oh yeah, Cole HAS to watch American Pie now! 👍
The camera positioned on the floor was interesting. Good for you for thinking about positions that would interest your faithful followers.
H'mm I wonder if Cole "dabbles" in a little apple pie.
Now do you believe in rock and roll, can music save your mortal soul.............Yes Sir, Yes Sir, Yes Sir!!!!!!
I would LOVE to use that flame toy thing..... LOL

Hi rian and Cole. Looks like you are having below zero wind chill temp this week-end, try and stay warm.
Brian I really hope Cole watches American pie so he understands your reference!!😂
Not that old came out 1999!
@@Donnie9by5 I know that but apparently Cole doesnt.
Maybe you could teach Boeing how to tighten plug door bolts....
Thanks !
👍😊
Very good song Brian...
Awesome video Cole thumbs up and shared
Awesome snow blower!
Cole's version of "Brian tight" sounds kind of funny. Hope you got 11% off on those ceiling fans 😂.
Cole you always use 2 wrenches when tightening hydraulic fittings after you break a few you will understand why
Have you stocked up on the toasting liquor for claving
I didn't know you knew Loosie too.
I think of her name whenever I have on approach angle to the thingys as well.
Song of the day, Light my Fire (The Doors) Cole did you get that fitting Brian tight?😂
Thanks. Keep up the great job 👏
Good song of the day!
With the weather in South Dakota right now this should help freeze things so the slop is gone.
Forty below wind chill today
Great song choice Brian!!
