Off-season moves matter. Last season, W's won 46 games: with Draymond missing 25 games (many from suspension), Wiggins having his worst season ever with a pre-season injury and an ailing father, with aging CP3 slowing the offense down, and with Klay in a contract season playing with too much ego in not wanting to sacrifice starter job. This season? Klay replaced with Buddy, Melton, and Slo-Mo (Anderson) both better and deeper, replaced CP3 with Podz as BU PG minutes, Wiggins playing more like 2-way Wiggs the former All-Star, and Draymond not missing a game 10 games in...
Yah honestly everyone saying that the warriors need a really strong 2nd option forget that Wiggins was literally the 2nd option in 2022. It’s not like Klay was playing out of his mind, and this team is deeper than the 2022 team.
@@wosilethere was also that one guy who averaged 25 ppg in his last 20 games that year (though he only averaged 17 ppg in the playoffs) - basically the Buddy Hield role of that season
The Warriors run the most complicated system in the NBA. The high post split action ball movement offense that relies on reading the reactions of the team defending it. Not everyone embraces this approach as KD and I remember Kelly Oubre express feeling confined by this kind of offense. Warriors happened to draft and pick up the right kind of personnel who embrace it. Not enough is mentioned about the Jerry Stackhouse addition as a coach who seems to have fired up the defensive approach which is more about switching and help defense than just zones and lock down man coverage. The concern is the lack of a dominant big man but Steve Kerr talks about needing 4s and 5s who can run the court as Trayce Jackson Davis has talked on how the coach emphasizes sprinting up and down the floor. It's very early but a lot of people had been counting the Warriors out...I don't know about disrespect....so many of these media sports talk people pontificate dramatically for ratings. No one is playing the game the way the Warriors are right now so I think it makes sense that no one should expect these results.
I think coach Kerr is more relax without Klay , i mean evrybody, because nowKerr cando anything not like with Klay his so hesitant to put him on the bench , and everybody is affected by that emotion seeing Klay not happy
The Warriors are the first organization to figure out how to work the new salary cap rules. They’re building a deep team of good athletic players instead of paying out most of their salary to 2-3 superstars. Once again, they’re the trendsetters in the NBA.
For the Dubs, this year as well, it’s always going to be the SAME Achilles heal - turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. If we can limit empty possessions, and not necessarily have to win the rebound battle - but be equal, we’ll be very very good!
Yeahh they do make some bone head passes and I get sooo frustrated. We are giving up great leads and letting teams get back into the game. We need to stay laser focused and keep the foot on the gas. We are championship caliber this year if we can reduce our turnovers.
I saw it as losing a net negative(on defense mainly) in Klay Thompson and adding Kyle Anderson buddy Hield and melton. So I assumed they’d at least be the better version of last yr. Just didn’t expect the shooting to be this good as well. So…ya, I’ll take it
What I don't understand _why_ was Cowherd (and other critics) were so wrong about the Warriors, saying they'll barely make the playoffs.. The Dubs are essentially the same roster as the 2021-22 championship team, but switching out Thompson, Iguodala, Lee, Porter Jr and Poole for Hield, Davis, Minton and Podz. Meanwhile, Curry, Green, Kuminga, Looney, Wiggins, Moody and Payton have yet another year playing together. That's a large core of players who've had years of experience playing together now.
We can’t underestimate the quality of coaches that Kerr added to the bench and they’ve got that defense humming. Naysayers say that this 11, 12, 13 - man rotation can’t last but I think it’s essential for playing that type of defense and still having your stars fresh in the 4th quarter.
Dunleavy was cheffing it up this offseason adding shooters who are able to contribute in different ways and can essentially "plug and play" into Kerr's system, Warriors still need a big. But NO ONE is talking about the addition of Terry and Jerry! Two great basketball minds bringing X's and O's (Terry Stotts), and the dog mentality (Jerry Stackhouse) replacing a void Mike Brown left. When they didn't get the sexy FA's in the offseason, a lot of talking heads wrote them off - the fans didn't.
what i see is Curry adding to his game this year. it's the one handed pass off dribble with either hand. and the rest of team copying that. it increases their pace and pace is their game.
First time watching your channel and I couldn’t agree with you more..Warriors get the most asterisks behind there success and it’s baffling and they do this everyyyyyy year I could go on more but sheesh
interesting to see this. i used to always see Where Right / Where Wrong but he (or Fox or his team) stopped posting those on his channel well over a year ago. was the best segment. anyone know why they stopped? perhaps because if people checked that 4 minute clip out, they wouldn't watch or listen to the rest?
It's kinda like the spurs when they were mid. The spurs were always well run even after the stars got too old. And they regularly made playoffs. Even knocking out really good teams in suprise moments even though they didn't go deep. And I think that's what a lot of franchises don't understand when they are so busy tanking for pics. A well run organization uses all it's tools and because it uses all it's tools it got a lot of knive to suprise stab you.
If the squad buys into how Kerr/Steph/Dray play they can win it all. It's hard to do that for 82 games and playoffs though. NBA is a superstar league and we know that 1 guy can literally change everything - e.g. Joker.
What these haters don't understand is all they do is add fuel to the Warriors fire! The Petty King is real...Also realize folks the Warriors started this new wave and style of basketball. You're not going to beat them if the are right and healthy! Motion offense with shooters! All they really need is a decent big and it's a wrap! They can keep writing what the Warriors can't do all the way to the chip!
I agree with everything! - Except, can we just say the Dubs could use "another" Big? Seems disrespectful to Looney to ignore him as a Big on the team, and he had a great season last year, and plays extremely hard, and contributes greatly!
It's just excitement! And it IS exciting! I don't think fans or commentators anticipated all the fine skills of this new Warrior team, and after these 10 games, we can see the potential! Just consider what we've seen to start the season, and that this team is likely to IMPROVE from here as they get more playing time together, and settle in with the system. Isn't that a reason to be excited?! No guarantees, but maybe more potential than expected.
So when is he going to repent of his diminishing of Steph Curry, and his condecending take on Brock Purdy. On both cases his penalty is being too cute with Nick Wright!
I'm a Warriors fan, but I do think not having a legit big will hurt them down the stretch. They need a big that they can feed down low, especially when their shots aren't falling. They look great now but I don't think it's sustainable.
Warriors DO have Looney, who's been good at defensive rebounding, great under the offensive basket, setting screens, and can make shots. We can't just forget about him because he's not Anthony Davis. He's been a great contributor in his role. And then there's Kominga. Year after year, people have said that the Warriors can't win without a "true big", and yet they HAVE won Championships! Would it help? Yes! Is it a necessity? I think they can point at their ring finger - 4 times!!
I'd argue it's the Giants 3 World Series in 5 years. Commentators throw out 2010 and act as if they lucked into 2. The MVP of the playoffs in 2012 didn't make the roster in 2010, and that team was so 'bad' and flukey that it makes the run not a dynasty is the worst accepted take on any dynasty.
Bro why did i think you were the co host 😂😂😂😂 i got 3 minutes into the video until i realized it wad a reaction 😂. But I agree steph is the most disrespected LEGEND ever. He is basketball’s Tom Brady. Curry been a LEGITIMATE contender since 2014, More often then not. He’s the winner they try to convince us Lebron is
They only talked about the lakers the first week . Once they got to like 4-4 they stopped talking about JJ and them outside of talking about him benching Dlo .
As a Warriors fan, i want to acknowledge that they faced the Celtics and Thunder while those teams were down a couple key players (Brown and Porzingis, Chet). So, while the start is promising, I think they need to add another impact player to be true contenders who can beat the elite teams at full strength in a playoff series.
Wiggins and Melton did not play against the Celtics also, and Loony did not play against OKC, and Jackson-Davis was taken out to go small ball as well.
People always worry because the Warriors have NEVER had a conventional-looking championship team! And yet they've won FOUR championships! What the Warriors have that seems to work is "Strength in Numbers." They use different pieces to their Championship puzzle: Fantastic coaches... fantastic supportive front office ... players of high character, who truly like each other, play for each other, and have a winning attitude (culture) with one mindset: to win a championship! They have a great combination of OGs with experience and youth with exuberance and athleticism. They all work incredibly hard, and to top it off, have a very high Basketball IQ. This seems to BE a winning combination, even minus that "True big". Of course, the Warriors would love to have another "impact player," , but they've proven that it isn't crucial to get a championship. Hield...Pods...Moody... Kuminga... Waters... and the other "newbies" on the team are ALL having an impact! Strength in Numbers!!!

yes and. kuminga and moody maturing, stackhouse great defensive schemes, gpii and looney healthy

Huge agreement on Stack. The D looks totally rejuvenated!
Do not trade the future for another aging superstar (you fill in the name).

Stack & Stotts
MVP additions of the off-season 👍🏼💪🏼
The fact that no one has been covering us speaks volumes no pun attended. But he’s not the only one.

A great coaching staff.

Subscribed with a thumbs up

Both draymond and Steph are still in their prime, get out and push and push. This team has the juice and buddy has been amazing !

We’re 10 games in. Everyone should just calm down…

It’s just crazy that people keep doubting the most dominant franchise and most dominant player of this last decade lol
Warrior fan here- don’t think we are the guys this year. But how dare anyone count out StephCurry ever

@BAfan-tt9zl I agree, but Looney seems like he can't compete down low with the big men like AD, Joker.

10 games in and everyone switching sharp😂
Go Warriors

Hahaha maybe one day!
I can’t stand when people apologize instead of just being real in the first place, just for clicks
What do you mean?
I think Colin has had bad takes on the Warriors. But the missed the playoffs two years in a row, so it’s not disrespectful to expect that again.
Kinda believe the warriors more than the cavs. I want them to bring Gui up from the G league and they should have done this sooner.
They only talked about the lakers the first week . Once they got to like 4-4 they stopped talking about JJ and them outside of talking about him benching Dlo .
…and having a tantrum and storming out of a media appearance.
What team has scored the most three point goals in a season?
He was wrong about Steph Curry after he was drafted too. He's a bandwagon jumper.
As a Warriors fan, i want to acknowledge that they faced the Celtics and Thunder while those teams were down a couple key players (Brown and Porzingis, Chet).
