    Thanks for your rec of Hotel Campo de Fiori. Location was awesome. Room 602 (top floor with private terrace overlooking the piazza and at the Victor Emmanuel monument) is my wife’s favorite hotel room we’ve ever stayed. We stayed there 2 weeks ago and staying there again in April.

      @ our daughter is studying in Florence for winter semester so we “have to” 🤣 come back to get her. Looking forward to our return trip. Going to Positano, Florence, Rome. We went through Holy Doors at St Peters last trip. Planning to go through the other 3 sets of Holy Doors in April. Love the Campo de Fiori area.
      Favorite Restaurant- Tonnarello in Trestavere
      Favorite Street - Via del Governo Vecchio
      Favorite cafe - Barnum - the coffee and pastries (and service) are my favorite of any place in the world that I have tried
      Favorite site - St Peters Basilica - overwhelming size, detail, beauty
      Favorite Tiramisu - Two sizes (my favorite dessert that I try every place that offers it - I’ve eaten Tiramisu well over 1000 times 😂)
      If you have any suggestions in the above categories, I would welcome your recs. Thanks!

      So many fun and interesting places to stay in Rome. Having a terrace to enjoy is really nice, especially if the weather is good. I had one of the best balconies of all time in Florence one time, but it rained the whole time we were there and it was cold so we rarely went outside, but otherwise it would’ve been great. Monti is a fun neighborhood. Have you ever stayed in Trastevere. A little bit more walking with no metro, but we really like the area. Thanks for watching.

    What timing for us. We are off to Italy in September for 37 days and are going to spend the last 4 days in Rome. Been to Rome before and done all yhe big tourist sites. We stayed up near the spanish steps last time so we wanted to go south more. I watch you other video on Trestevere and decide thats where we are going to stay. Book all the other stays and was in the process of looking around and this video popped up. So we looked at Simona Air B&B and its available on our dates so we booked it. I am going to give you 1 more option to consider. I am doing a video about it now. As you may have seen Rome can get very expensive especially on peak season on the weekends. I think a great option is to stay in Tivoli. It is a town about 20 miles from Rome and there is a train 1 or 2 per hour to Rome. Train is under 3 euros each way. It is more of a real Italian experience without all of the lines and tourists of peak season. There is lots to see and do in Tivoli but super easy to get to Rome and the cost for AirBnb of much much less expensive. There are lots of great restaurants without the long lines. It is best to spend the mornings in Tivoli and then the afternoon and evenings in Rome or morning and afternoon in Rome then evening in Tivoli. Also in Tivoli there is one of the best AirBnb we stayed in all of Italy. It is 2 bedrooms and cost about 100 euro per night. This one is special.Oh also the train to Rome is about 35 minutes on select trains. Here is a link to the AirBnb

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma  4 месяца назад

      Yah I would book early and if a deal later comes up you can usually cancel even a few days /weeks before arrival and get a full refund. May is already a busy month and with Jubilee I would not risk waiting too long befoer booking. Some places only let you book up to 6 months out. I see you watched the video so the part i mention Hotel Santa Maria...It really is a great hotel and perfect for an anniversary. If you want an airbnb, all 3 I n=mention are very good. Have a great trip. If you are interested I do have a travel guide called Rome Travel Guida to has lots of great information to help with your planning. I like having a room in the hotel for the roof garden. We stayed on the top floor. We bought a tasty selection of nuts in the market next to the hotel and enjoyed them with a glass of wine. Do you also have something for a family of four that is reasonable?

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma  8 месяцев назад +6

      For a family of four I would definitely lean towards an Airbnb. Rome has gotten so expensive with all the tourists that it’s hard to find something reasonable in the peak season. My recommendation would be to travel there during the first half of November, second half of February or the first half of March and most places are substantially less expensive by 30% to 50% and sometimes more. Another option if I was going during peak season, I would base out of the town nearby called Tivoli. It’s a great town that is easily accessible to Rome by train. Lots to see and do in Tivoli without all the crowds and when you want to go to Rome, it’s just a 45 minute ride. Lots of choices to stay there for around €100 plus or minus. we really love Tivoli.
