Very exciting news !! Repair facility in Usa and Canada. Good to hear they changed the thermal paste. It will now help me to decide if I want another ice river kaspa machine.
I love the video Greater Good! Thank you for asking the questions many of us have been wondering about. I hope the new thermal paste upgrade really is better than the KS3M paste. I love how Iceriver is willing to listen to us miners and accept the constructive criticism. Iceriver is a way better company than Goldshell in my opinion. The hosting questions were also very helpful.
Thanks for watching! Yeah I really hope the new thermal paste will be better than the old stuff. There is a certain amount of required maintenance on any mining equipment but I feel like the old paste definitely caused some issues that could have been avoided with a higher quality paste. Iceriver will keep improving if we give them the chance
Ahh man, I'd love to hear them explain why they are the only Asics that NEED to run extremely hot in order to get full hashing power, unlike other Asics. But awesome interview indeed.
Thanks FullyElectric! I have more interviews I'll be posting from Mining Disrupt as the days go on! Buuuuut my KS5L is arriving today, so cutting those videos together might have to wait! 😆
Bought KS3M from Iceriver Hongkong.. 1 Hashboard broke on first day when it arrived (factory sealed), service is free but need to ship it back to Hong Kong for 500$ , then wait for 1.5 month for service and ship back.. Meanwhile the new KS3M price dropped half in price on the period T.T
That is very frustrating. Iceriver is a relatively new company and they will have a repair center in the U.S. and Canada within the next 3 months. It doesn't help what has already happened to you, but going forward the process should be much more streamlined. Sorry that happened to you
Im having some issues with the PSU's failing. Ive ordered replacements, but have not looked for repair services. I definitely would like to know how to use Foreman or Braiins with IceRiver rigs.
@GreaterGoodMining when I sent pictures and info, they said Nope, we won't cover it! Offered me a replacement hash board for $500 and said that if I opened a ticket it would be denied. And then told me Good Luck!! Terrible. Be careful
I'm sure for you, or any of the you tubers, they would take care of you with no problem. But, little guys like me they Don't care. Buy IR products at your own risk
@GreaterGoodMining it's a KS1 board not hardly worth $500. I thought I was doing the right thing by not repaste nor overclock, thinking ehh I don't wanna void warranty. Should have listened to you guys and repasted. The screws on the heak sinks were loose when I opened it up to inspect the damage.
@@MrDreadnought090 just wait until the machine is out of warranty. The testing I've done on my new KS5L so far shows the chip temps are nice and cool and stable even with stock fans and running it in a hot environment
@@MrDreadnought090 I had a hashboard go down on a KS3M, didn't wanna wait for a month or longer to get it back. Thermal paste was dry and brittle. 2 tubes of Artic mx6 and about 3 hours and she is chugging away better than ever.
No they don't charge a ton of fees. I think there is a very minimal setup fee (I think it's like $20) and you pay for 60 days of power in advance. I really doubt they allow overclocking. No hosting company that I know of allows that. It opens them up to liability and can be dangerous.
Great Video! Nice work Greater Good!
Thanks Hobbyist! It was good to finally chat with them in person

It sounds like they are working to make things better! Even Bitmain had a lot of problems when they first started
Repair center in Canada? Wow didn't expect that. Awesome for us Canadians
Yeah, I was excited to hear that too! U.S. and Canada, and a 3rd location that they havn't announced yet too.

Great interview :D thank you for asking about hosting :) I love hosting feature Iceriver have.
I am actually pretty impressed with their hosting deal. I'm considering it 🤔 Thanks for watching PJPLAYHOUSE!
@@GreaterGoodMining I would try it it has low electricity and 24/7 support :)

@RainBitcoins yeah I didn't have my KS0 Ultra or KS5L yet when I did this interview, but that would have been an interesting question
@GGM Brother that is one very informative interview well done!! 👍 more please!

Did you check to see if it is just the fans that failed on the PSU? ruclips.net/video/QzOiCTTYtwA/видео.htmlsi=05IEe8rD--ZVTjpg
I have 2 Ultras in the July orders, can't wait.
Nice! Pretty good bang for your buck so far
Does Ice River hiring? I want to get a job at Ice River. Don’t matter in China, HK or back in the state.
Check their website. I know they were looking for people to train for repairs etc
GGM making big moves
Had to take mt shot at chatting with the team on camera 📷 Worked out pretty good ai think, got some good info 👍
repaircenter in eu pls ._.
They are working on a third repair facility but they couldn't tell me where it will be located. Fingers crossed it will be in the EU
Crazy IR acknowledges they used insufficient thermal paste, and will not cover a damaged hash board that's under warranty. Terrible
They will cover machines under warranty. Did you open a ticket with them?

Repasting your miner is a very simple process
Agreed
The warranty dies if you open up the machine even for repaste tho

🎉🎉🎉Cant wait for a repair center in the US!I have a dead Pro😢
Same! I am excited that there is a better option coming soon!
Nice work sir... great info!!
Thanks Dumpsterfire! They are trying to fix issues that we've been reporting but sometimes it's hard to fix things on such a big scale quickly
Awesome video. It was great to meet you at Mining Disrupt!
Thanks Krag! It was great meeting you too! 👍
One day I'll be able to go their I whis they do a event in Michigan
Super epic video!
There's an event in Minnesota this fall
Thank you for watching 👀 It was fun to make 😊

Tried to use the iRiver coupon code, but it said expired. Womp womp.
That's a bummer 😕 You should still be able to use my discount code GREATER for 2.5% off 😉
I talked to Iceriver and the code will be reactivated today! It looks like it had expired for some reason but it should be good to go today
@@GreaterGoodMining Yay! Thanks man!
@toddpeterson5904 no problem!
@@GreaterGoodMining Just bought 2x KS5L's hosted. The coupon worked! Thank you for the great info/videos and the savings :)
they should make solar kits with battery for the kso`s
they could make a kit for aprox 100 dollars that makes them run for free
That would be cool, but it would be a headache to arrange something like that for an asic manufacturer
