- Exploring abandoned houses on your own is scary at the best of times but I was truly TERRIFIED in this abandoned jail and court house in Scotland
Dragging chains, maniacal laughter and running feet is enough to put even the bravest explorer on edge! But with the risk of being locked in a cell and left to rot alone is spine chillingly scary!

Mad props to you for going alone, but so dangerous if you had run into someone with bad intentions or gotten hurt. I truly enjoy your appreciation for exploring, but you need more protective footwear. Nails easily poke thru soles, ankles twist, things fall on your feet. Trainers don't seem sturdy enough. It served as the city's District Court Hall, Central Police office and eventually the Police Museum before closing in 2008.

This building was definitely a multi use building except as you've shown us they also did appear to have a fair sized prison in the complex as well and not just holding cells!! It's very interesting to see the insides and "private" areas of a building like this, especially one from the Victorian era & all the beautiful architecture and things from a bygone era!
Omg matt my flat is just behind that looking into the building so wish I'd seen you. It's was the old court house being demolished soon to make more flats. So buzzing you where here xxx

In the US, you can tour prisons like Alcatraz, Eastern State, Moundsville. And some others.They even do night ghost tours.
I live in Glasgow Matt and there are some beautiful old Victorian Buildings all around Glasgow. It’s such a shame that a lot of them are being left to rot. I’m sure some developer will come along soon and turn it into ugly flats and charge a fortune, but all the beautiful architecture will be lost, especially that amazing old elevator. I’m glad you have been in there to document it before it’s gone forever.😢

Hi Matt, Great explore, Early on in the video I heard EVPs in the basement with heavy breathing and a growl and later on a child laughing as well. Well done.
Exactly what I heard the breathing growl and about 14.30 as Matt was looking down some steps a little child.
I'm so glad you followed your instincts and backed out of that room with the hole in the floor where you can see down two stories. I was on the edge of my seat when your battery was dying and you were rushing to find the exit. Then I laughed indeedwhen you couldn't help yourself and paused to zoom in on some papers. 😂 Then, as if internal dialogue: "oh yeah! Forgot I'm running to get out!" Your battery must have been at half a percent by the end! Talk about cutting it close! 😅 Thanks for the awesome and BRAVE explore.❤Was amazing. Scary too! 😨 just imagining the psycho killer in there over the decades.🤡 🔪😳😵💫☠️👻
Oh my gosh, that was scary. I heard those bangs…😬😮😅. I think this was a big police station. Matt, my daughter is a Correctional Officer in a jail. The stories…😱😬🤦🏼♀️. in my opinion this is one of the best videos you've done in a while. i love it when you go these places that are a bit eerie and it makes me on edge as i watch it. you're smashing these vids on your own pal took some balls to go in there alone.
If that strange guy would have come across you while you were trying to exit the building via the window the way you were, he might have had to do a double take to verify what he was seeing and after he realized what he was actually seeing he might have thought..."WTF??...What kind of CRAZY person is that trying to flee via the window like that"....then he might have been scared 💩less and run in-the opposite direction fearing for his life! 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂

The basement is part of the court admin rooms and storage. It is a very strange layout considering the jail cells are above. The small windows above the Gael cells are to let in light from the main passage as they could not light fittings in the cell. This has to be one of your best explorers, good job.

I don't know what the hell those rooms were used for but there is definitely something evil down there! I heard a lot of growls and voices down there!!!!! Okay, going back to the video......I am so happy that you finally found the way out! There were so many voices and spooky sounds in that decrepit place! You would NEVER catch me in there!! Great video. Scary video too!!! I can't believe you didn't or couldn't hear all the voices and the GROWING going on in that friggin basement!!! It totally gave me chills up and down my spine!!!!!!!! Those are huge multi people cells! I've never seen such large cells like that especially with them all linked together!

As far as I'm aware the room with the big lights shining on the other side of the room was so someone could identify someone from a line up before double sided glass when you didn't have to be in the same room

That was a scary video, however that prison is exactly the same as the Victorian one in Lincoln which has been renovated and open to the public. It was a bit risky you going there alone but I enjoyed it but please stay safe.

For the extra rooms, remember that jails have Rec rooms, classrooms, libraries, visitation rooms, cafeteria, kitchen, offices, storage of personal possessions, linens, medical supplies, and many more things. It’s like a hostel, medical office, gym, and community center all rolled up into one. At least some of them are! Would be interesting to see in its hay day when it was first built. Their punishments back then were crazy!
The basement could have been filing evidence and staff rooms plus boilers etc

At approximately 14:25 there's a freaky "child's voice gibberish" that can be heard as you're talking. Unfortunately it's gibberish and can't be understood except that WE CAN HEAR IT‼️
It's either a child's voice or a young woman that's saying...whatever!

When you found that courtroom on an upper floor it proved my supposition about that place being a combination use building. I thought that if there were courtrooms that they'd be on a higher level, like Manchester.
