I personally prefer the Movie Grievous and his fight scenes but I wish I could love the Grievous here as much as everyone else seems to. For me he's super interesting and compelling in the movies but in this show he's a block of wood with gimmicks. The new Clone Wars is even worse.

The only problem I see with this version is that the amazing action animation used in grievous’s and mace windu’s scenes weren’t used for the whole thing. The star fighting scenes were very unsatisfying to watch.
These animations make grevious look like a complete badass. Something we never really saw before. He literally takes on 5 Jedi at once and obliterates them all.
And something we havent seen since unfortunetly. 2003 feels like an alternate timeline where characters given their all to win the war over having fancy tactics and political debates.
And he was given a BUILD UP, a suspense of terror which makes the fight capitalize on a tension that's already in viewer's mind. That's how you handle a villain, Genndy did a masterful work.
Actually, animated series are were we can truly see what Jedis are truly capable of. The reason why the movies don't show it it's because if they show that kind of things in live action, then people wouldn't believe it at all.

I just love how over the top this series was. Durge is the definition of that, even after being exploded by Kenobi's force repulse, he STILL SURVIVES! And what does it take to kill him? Yeeting him into a star to ATOMIZE HIM! Also Grevious is at his most intimidating and Captain Fordo is one of my favourite characters to the point of building an extensive head canon around him.

My favorite lightsaber duel from Star Wars: Clone wars was the fight between Anakin and Ventress on Yavin 4, it’s a pretty intense and entertaining fight. And pushes the limits of how a duel between Two Force users looks with such Fast paced animation style, not to mention it has a badass Soundtrack.
Yearlonggiant it’s honestly one of the best duels in any Star Wars movie or show. The pacing of it is absolutely perfect - tension build up with the clones getting rekt, intense fighting followed by the cat and mouse part, change in weather, the fighters take a break to size each other up, it’s on point thematically... honestly perfect
And then you realize this is a duel between two people that aren't even in the league of masters yet. So imagine a duel between a Sith Lord and Jedi Master of TOR in this animation. It'd last a whole damn hour. And no joke, a Jedi Master in the actual SWTOR MMO states that he dueled a Sith Lord on a moon for 2 days straight. How fucking hardcore can you people get !? 🤣

I grew up on those two volumes along with the ewok movies. The music, action and expansion on background jedi really make it worth a watch for every star wars fan

Loved those. Made me a big fan of John Ostrander before reading his DC work (Spectre, Suicide Squad). I don’t think the new canon has anything on Battle of Jabiim and Aargonar when it comes to developing Anakin in the Clone Wars.
The most accurate journey of Anakin to Vader we have. Only when he resorts to rage can he emerge victoriously, which he justifies by saying it was for the republic's needs.

That's my problem with the CG Clone Wars series, I think they forgot that Anakin is only supposed to be early 20's at the time, whereas both Obi-Wan and Anakin look around 30.
In some ways, The 2008 Clone Wars Anakin is what he would be if he matured and grew up in an alternate era where Jedi Purge never happened and he never became Vader. That said, I really love the "different take" of the character. It was great to see his arcs and his relationships with Obi, Rex, Ahsoka and Padme throughout the seasons.
I remember racing home to watch these five minutes of beauty every week. You describe them brilliantly, alongside the actual scenes: it just matches very well. The excitement and passion you have for this show is palpable. Grievous was the coolest in this show, and that Asajj fight is one of my all-time favorite lightsaber (force user?) battles. Wish it was on Disney Plus, but thank you for highlighting such an under appreciated and gorgeous cartoon.
I consider this show to be Episode 2.5 George personally approved every creative decision in it and even screened the whole series before the initial showing of Revenge of the Sith.

YES! The original series is definitely one of the most underrated pieces of content in Star Wars. The visual storytelling and action are some of the best in the franchise.
I always felt that this series actually gave us the full power of the Jedi, what they can actually do and how they fight, with smooth grace and precision that is born from tapping into the Force and decades of training. All of which wouldn't translate well in live action, I don't see it as over-the-top, the Jedi are peacekeepers but are still regarded as some of the greatest warriors in the galaxy. This gives us that expression better than anything else, even better than the Clone Wars 2008 TV series, while that show does give us more in terms of storytelling and expanding upon the characters, its lacking the true might that an experienced force user could unleash which this does a lot better in.
Aye!!!!! The mix between SW/Samurai Jack action here is badass as hell, as a martial artist, seeing prequel speed in the show and movies is a breath of fresh air, the moment I’ve seen it as a kid. Still badass to this day, years later.

To this day I remember the rain drops sizzling off lightsabers. And the other two scenes you talk about - Grevious as well as Mace - still stick in my mind. I think I watched PARTS of this show and just once (never saw any more than twice), but I still remember those scenes to this day. ONE other I remember that you didn't mention was the episode where they meet the aliens. I don't remember all the details, but I do remember something to do with his arm and how it kind of presages his future, kind of like the Clone Wars episodes on Mortis. Great moments that still resonate in my mind all these years later.
C3P0 stripping felt oddly inappropriate at the end. Somewhat similar to cats from Cats, when they take off clothes they don't need in the first place. Weird.
I recently decided to watch Clone Wars, The Clone Wars and Rebels because I thought it was about time. Immediately after watching Clone Wars I knew that I was going to learn to regret it...because it isn't canon, but it's so good. The fact that they used the voice actors later, in the Revenge of the Sith video game that I grew up with also really helped.
I remember catching a few segments on TV back in 03. I loved it. I used to rent the first volume from my local video store all the time. That Grievous cliffhanger. Wow. I never knew the show had a second volume until I got the Internet in 2007. When I finally got to watch the entire series, it blew my mind. I still love this show, and I'm so glad that it was added to Disney+.
God I remember when this show aired on Cartoon Network when I was 9 years old. Every Friday night I would be sitting in front of the TV with excitement waiting for the new episode to come on. The lead up to ROTS was excellent with the show ending right at the start of the movie.

Yess! I am loving all the love this series is getting on RUclips! I watched sit as a kid and adored it. As I got older I started to appreciate the beauty and nonverbal storytelling of this series.
Because he's way more compelling that way. A Vader clone with less personality and a sillier voice isn't very interesting. Movie Grievous is a trick fighter and he's a genuinely cunning and engaging. He even has a better (if brief) fight scene between him and Kenobi. I've adored this show for a long time but Grievous in ROTS is much better IMO, this show he feels like a block of wood that looks and fights kinda cool.

The simple reason is because when this show was in production George Lucas simply said "Grievous is the general of the droid armies who carries jedi lightsabers as trophies", and Genndy took that idea and ran with it. Unfortunately midway into the second season George revealed that Grievous was supposed to be a _pathetic Saturday Morning Cartoon villain_ , and Genndy decided he'd compromise and make up something about Mace destroying Grievous' insides with the same technique he used to tear Super Battle Droids apart and break his windpipe to match the movie Lucas had just finished filming.

He is the one who has a vast array of techniques and tactics to fight the jedi. His duel with Kenobi in ROTS was absolute garbage, lol. Horrendous choreography with Grievous just swinging his lightsabers through the air near Obi Wan's face 90% of the time instead of actually trying to kill him, more than 20 times when Kenobi should have logically died, and the end of it is just silly.
Definitely do more of this show. It's just excellent. Personal favourite, following the clones on their siege of that droid controlled city. I think it is arguably the best that the troops have ever looked and it's just so satisfying to watch.

I won't lie, you've brought a new perspective on this show to me. I love, love, LOVE Samurai Jack's art style, but seeing Star Wars with it, especially with some of the choices made- Palpatine, Dooku, Qui-gon, and such- Just... I never got behind it, the look of the characters just peeved me to no end, but you've revolutionized it for me. Positivity does that, I suppose.
I can't stand when people shit on movie Grievous. Dude had so much personality. Sure he was scarier in 2003 CW and more conniving in 2008 TCW, but I love how he has this unspoken rivalry and mutual respect for Kenobi that even appears to lapse into fondness at moments. They even referenced how Windu injured him when Anakin rags on his hunched over posture. He's smart enough to take his ship getting destroyed and turn it into a plan to trap and destroy the Jedi and the chancellor. I really enjoy 2003 Grievous, but like the video said, it's basically a night and day difference between the two. 2003 had some of the coolest animation, kick-ass scenes, and a perfectly fitting soundtrack, however 2008 TCW/Movie Grievous has much more personality in my eyes, (though that's probably my nostalgia goggles talking to some degree.) His rivalry with Obi-Wan is by far one of the most interesting things about his character and seeing the two interact in the TCW will always be my favorite interactions in all of Clone Wars. He still shows a cunning, tactical side in TCW/Movie, yet is realistically flawed with arrogance, impatience, and a tinge of cowardice. (Most of his retreats are usually because he's cornered or because his opponent escapes. As the General of a grand army, running would be the smartest thing to do in such moment.) 2003 Grievous is probably seen as more badass by most cause he had a lot less plot armor to work through, plus the 2003 CW was kinda insane with their power levels (in a good way) that made that Grievous appear to be unkillable. TCW/Movie Grievous had his share of cool moments, though the vast majority of them weren't as impactful since they were always against main characters. His last fight with Ahsoka in TCW was pretty cool, and he probably would of won too if it hadn't been interrupted. Eeth Koth V Grievous, though short and with a bit of scummy playing, is also a highlight of TCW Grievous. I don't think Full Fat is "Full of Shit," I just think that, when you lay the facts down, it's just the truth that 2003 Grievous is cooler on the surface, like every character in 2003 CW. That's just my opinion, though.

It just doesn't translate realistically/logically to a live action movie, just imagine that Grievous and Obi-Wan are moving too fast to actually see and there isn't time to think or a real opening to use the force offensively on Grievous.
This show has what it has to be my favorite Duel in all Star Wars, which is Anakin vs. Ventress. Not only is a great piece of animated action, but a masterclass on Visual Storytelling. Gotta love Gendy.

Bro nailed it. I was chatting w/ some ppl on facebook a few days back tellin em how great the CN Clone Wars series was. What you said about Grievous was what I was trying to put into words. He had skill, tact and an overall commanding presence from his introduction to the final fight between him and Shaak Ti. When he showed up you were just like..oh shit how are they gonna get outta this. The movie version of him was the real cartoon. Just a joke of what he should and could have been.
This series is masterfully made. The Grievous duel, and especially the Anakin vs. Ventures duel, are some of my favorite lightsaber fights in the entire franchise. Whenever I show someone the movies going forward, I'm at least going to suggest we watch this series between Episodes II and III.
That series was pure gold. Assaj recruiting scenes by Dooku in the arena and later in her resting room ware also iconic. Not the best voice acting though in French, we had the chance to have the same dub voices than in the movies. And Anakin's and Obi Wan journey in the second part are also a very good story ark, not to mention that we finally get to see a Jedi knighting ceremony ! And Kit Fisto fighting into the waters of Mon Calamari are also a memorable part.
Two things 1) I'd love a Mace Windu movie but instead of SLJ, I wouldn't actually mind seeing Michael B Jordan take on the role of a new Jedi Knight sent on his first mission. He just seems perfect for the role in my mind. 2) One of the most underrated moments from the show is the Knighting of Anakin.
This video does a good job summing up this show. I think the general audience misconceived the show by its aesthetics without giving it a real chance as it was actually very dark for a kids show with amazing dramatic build ups and the best part being the new characters being introduced.
Grievous in 2003 and also in his comic appearances is my favourite Star Wars villain. Revenge of the Sith was... ok. It wasn’t his movie and he was only a side character made to be killed off, just like in canon. But 2008... oh man. Look how they massacred my boy. The retcon was a disgrace. He lost all the attributes that made him threatening, he lost his backstory that actually made his position feel justified and rather tragic. He turned into a literal saturday morning cartoon villain with a personality to match. They invented plenty of other fodder characters so why did they have to ruin him?
I think that and the droids being buffoons is all that keeps me turned off from that show, sadly. I can't easily get over those things when Ive seen them treated like serious threats in the past.
Usually when people make statements about Grievous, or how he's portrayed in each medium (EU, movie, TCW) I half agree half disagree, but I'll be honest by saying you summed up my thoughts exactly and I absolutely agree with everything you said. Damn shame this comment hasn't gotten more traction, but I guess it's not technically a popular opinion, so there's that. Seems people often forget that Grievous is mortally injured during the events of RotS and the reason he acts differently is because of that, it's not fair to judge someone so poorly based off of the last few days of their life, especially if that problem is he's simply recovering and trying not to die in a weakened state. It's also overlooked that RotS has like, 12 fights in it, with its runtime and Grievous not being the main antagonist, the content of his fight suffered severely for it, same with Dooku after all.
@@rustkarl Well I suppose that's fair, I more ment he was mortally injured when Mace nearly killed him, but he heals rather quickly, so as the days pass he heals more, the point is I think people forget he's injured at all.
The anakin vs ventress fight in this show is also where the running gag of whenever anakin fights someone with her sabers (such as barriss) or a dual blade user. When he grips the wrist his his metal hand and they drop it. It's used a few times in the cgi clone wars and I think in rebels but I can't remember.
I love this show just like I did when I watched it in 2003, the action is phenomenal and you truly see the power of the PT era Jedi in the force, it also introduced some incredible characters like Fordo and Durge the attention to detail was great, and Anakins duel on Yavin 4 is one my favorite SW duels of all
If you want actual war and nonstop action, Tartakovsky's Clone Wars is the Clone Wars for you. If you want clones to have character and go a bit more philosophical, Filoni's Clone Wars is the Clone Wars for you. In the past I've said that Tartakovsky's is the better of the two, but I've come to realize that they've become too different from one another to really say one is better on the whole than the other because they have two very different goals. But if they don't change anything about the battle of Coruscant and Palpatine's capture in this Final Season of Filoni's Clone Wars, then I argue that what we see in Tartakovsky's still happens because that chase through Coruscant and that train fight is just too awesome to retcon, -which then makes Tartakovsky's the better of the two.-

And he was given a BUILD UP, a suspense of terror which makes the fight capitalize on a tension that's already in viewer's mind. That's how you handle a villain, Genndy did a masterful work.
Actually, animated series are were we can truly see what Jedis are truly capable of. The reason why the movies don't show it it's because if they show that kind of things in live action, then people wouldn't believe it at all.

I just love how over the top this series was. Durge is the definition of that, even after being exploded by Kenobi's force repulse, he STILL SURVIVES! And what does it take to kill him? Yeeting him into a star to ATOMIZE HIM!
Also Grevious is at his most intimidating and Captain Fordo is one of my favourite characters to the point of building an extensive head canon around him.

My favorite lightsaber duel from Star Wars: Clone wars was the fight between Anakin and Ventress on Yavin 4, it’s a pretty intense and entertaining fight. And pushes the limits of how a duel between Two Force users looks with such Fast paced animation style, not to mention it has a badass Soundtrack.
Yearlonggiant it’s honestly one of the best duels in any Star Wars movie or show. The pacing of it is absolutely perfect - tension build up with the clones getting rekt, intense fighting followed by the cat and mouse part, change in weather, the fighters take a break to size each other up, it’s on point thematically... honestly perfect

That's my problem with the CG Clone Wars series, I think they forgot that Anakin is only supposed to be early 20's at the time, whereas both Obi-Wan and Anakin look around 30.

In some ways, The 2008 Clone Wars Anakin is what he would be if he matured and grew up in an alternate era where Jedi Purge never happened and he never became Vader. That said, I really love the "different take" of the character. It was great to see his arcs and his relationships with Obi, Rex, Ahsoka and Padme throughout the seasons.
I remember racing home to watch these five minutes of beauty every week. You describe them brilliantly, alongside the actual scenes: it just matches very well. The excitement and passion you have for this show is palpable. Grievous was the coolest in this show, and that Asajj fight is one of my all-time favorite lightsaber (force user?) battles. Wish it was on Disney Plus, but thank you for highlighting such an under appreciated and gorgeous cartoon.

George personally approved every creative decision in it and even screened the whole series before the initial showing of Revenge of the Sith.
Everything except Grievous's backstory and personality, which he retconned.

I always felt that this series actually gave us the full power of the Jedi, what they can actually do and how they fight, with smooth grace and precision that is born from tapping into the Force and decades of training. All of which wouldn't translate well in live action, I don't see it as over-the-top, the Jedi are peacekeepers but are still regarded as some of the greatest warriors in the galaxy. This gives us that expression better than anything else, even better than the Clone Wars 2008 TV series, while that show does give us more in terms of storytelling and expanding upon the characters, its lacking the true might that an experienced force user could unleash which this does a lot better in.
This was my childhood, Stil watch this show after ep 2 and before ep 3, when binging all the movies... it just fits

Aye!!!!! The mix between SW/Samurai Jack action here is badass as hell, as a martial artist, seeing prequel speed in the show and movies is a breath of fresh air, the moment I’ve seen it as a kid. Still badass to this day, years later.

What kind of sword moves like the disney sequel-saber anyway? I can only imagine an unbalanced machete made out of cement moving like their poor attempts at lightsabers... it is infuriating, really.

To this day I remember the rain drops sizzling off lightsabers. And the other two scenes you talk about - Grevious as well as Mace - still stick in my mind.
I think I watched PARTS of this show and just once (never saw any more than twice), but I still remember those scenes to this day. ONE other I remember that you didn't mention was the episode where they meet the aliens. I don't remember all the details, but I do remember something to do with his arm and how it kind of presages his future, kind of like the Clone Wars episodes on Mortis.
Great moments that still resonate in my mind all these years later.

I recently decided to watch Clone Wars, The Clone Wars and Rebels because I thought it was about time. Immediately after watching Clone Wars I knew that I was going to learn to regret it...because it isn't canon, but it's so good.
The fact that they used the voice actors later, in the Revenge of the Sith video game that I grew up with also really helped.

The Battle of Hypori is one of my favourite fights in Star Wars. And the soundtrack is just amazing!
For the next video I'd recommend the team up battle between Obi-Wan, Ventress, Maul and Savage. It was so well shot and had so much subtext to it.

I remember catching a few segments on TV back in 03. I loved it. I used to rent the first volume from my local video store all the time. That Grievous cliffhanger. Wow. I never knew the show had a second volume until I got the Internet in 2007. When I finally got to watch the entire series, it blew my mind. I still love this show, and I'm so glad that it was added to Disney+.

God I remember when this show aired on Cartoon Network when I was 9 years old. Every Friday night I would be sitting in front of the TV with excitement waiting for the new episode to come on. The lead up to ROTS was excellent with the show ending right at the start of the movie.

Because he's way more compelling that way. A Vader clone with less personality and a sillier voice isn't very interesting. Movie Grievous is a trick fighter and he's a genuinely cunning and engaging. He even has a better (if brief) fight scene between him and Kenobi. I've adored this show for a long time but Grievous in ROTS is much better IMO, this show he feels like a block of wood that looks and fights kinda cool.

The simple reason is because when this show was in production George Lucas simply said "Grievous is the general of the droid armies who carries jedi lightsabers as trophies", and Genndy took that idea and ran with it. Unfortunately midway into the second season George revealed that Grievous was supposed to be a _pathetic Saturday Morning Cartoon villain_ , and Genndy decided he'd compromise and make up something about Mace destroying Grievous' insides with the same technique he used to tear Super Battle Droids apart and break his windpipe to match the movie Lucas had just finished filming.

If you didn’t notice, that temple Ventress and Anakin are fighting on is the rebel base on Yavin-4 from a New Hope
A future rebel base, to be exact. And those temple ruins are of some relation to the sith, if I remember correctly.

I won't lie, you've brought a new perspective on this show to me. I love, love, LOVE Samurai Jack's art style, but seeing Star Wars with it, especially with some of the choices made- Palpatine, Dooku, Qui-gon, and such- Just... I never got behind it, the look of the characters just peeved me to no end, but you've revolutionized it for me. Positivity does that, I suppose.

He's smart enough to take his ship getting destroyed and turn it into a plan to trap and destroy the Jedi and the chancellor. I really enjoy 2003 Grievous, but like the video said, it's basically a night and day difference between the two. 2003 had some of the coolest animation, kick-ass scenes, and a perfectly fitting soundtrack, however 2008 TCW/Movie Grievous has much more personality in my eyes, (though that's probably my nostalgia goggles talking to some degree.) His rivalry with Obi-Wan is by far one of the most interesting things about his character and seeing the two interact in the TCW will always be my favorite interactions in all of Clone Wars. He still shows a cunning, tactical side in TCW/Movie, yet is realistically flawed with arrogance, impatience, and a tinge of cowardice. (Most of his retreats are usually because he's cornered or because his opponent escapes. As the General of a grand army, running would be the smartest thing to do in such moment.)
2003 Grievous is probably seen as more badass by most cause he had a lot less plot armor to work through, plus the 2003 CW was kinda insane with their power levels (in a good way) that made that Grievous appear to be unkillable. TCW/Movie Grievous had his share of cool moments, though the vast majority of them weren't as impactful since they were always against main characters. His last fight with Ahsoka in TCW was pretty cool, and he probably would of won too if it hadn't been interrupted. Eeth Koth V Grievous, though short and with a bit of scummy playing, is also a highlight of TCW Grievous. I don't think Full Fat is "Full of Shit," I just think that, when you lay the facts down, it's just the truth that 2003 Grievous is cooler on the surface, like every character in 2003 CW. That's just my opinion, though.

It just doesn't translate realistically/logically to a live action movie, just imagine that Grievous and Obi-Wan are moving too fast to actually see and there isn't time to think or a real opening to use the force offensively on Grievous.
This show has what it has to be my favorite Duel in all Star Wars, which is Anakin vs. Ventress. Not only is a great piece of animated action, but a masterclass on Visual Storytelling. Gotta love Gendy.

Bro nailed it. I was chatting w/ some ppl on facebook a few days back tellin em how great the CN Clone Wars series was. What you said about Grievous was what I was trying to put into words. He had skill, tact and an overall commanding presence from his introduction to the final fight between him and Shaak Ti. When he showed up you were just like..oh shit how are they gonna get outta this. The movie version of him was the real cartoon. Just a joke of what he should and could have been.

This series is masterfully made. The Grievous duel, and especially the Anakin vs. Ventures duel, are some of my favorite lightsaber fights in the entire franchise. Whenever I show someone the movies going forward, I'm at least going to suggest we watch this series between Episodes II and III.
A suprise to be sure but a welcomed one :)
That series was pure gold. Assaj recruiting scenes by Dooku in the arena and later in her resting room ware also iconic. Not the best voice acting though in French, we had the chance to have the same dub voices than in the movies.
And Anakin's and Obi Wan journey in the second part are also a very good story ark, not to mention that we finally get to see a Jedi knighting ceremony !
And Kit Fisto fighting into the waters of Mon Calamari are also a memorable part.
Two things
1) I'd love a Mace Windu movie but instead of SLJ, I wouldn't actually mind seeing Michael B Jordan take on the role of a new Jedi Knight sent on his first mission. He just seems perfect for the role in my mind.
2) One of the most underrated moments from the show is the Knighting of Anakin.

This video does a good job summing up this show. I think the general audience misconceived the show by its aesthetics without giving it a real chance as it was actually very dark for a kids show with amazing dramatic build ups and the best part being the new characters being introduced.
Grievous in 2003 and also in his comic appearances is my favourite Star Wars villain.
Revenge of the Sith was... ok.
It wasn’t his movie and he was only a side character made to be killed off, just like in canon.
But 2008... oh man.
Look how they massacred my boy.
The retcon was a disgrace.
He lost all the attributes that made him threatening, he lost his backstory that actually made his position feel justified and rather tragic.
He turned into a literal saturday morning cartoon villain with a personality to match.
They invented plenty of other fodder characters so why did they have to ruin him?
I think that and the droids being buffoons is all that keeps me turned off from that show, sadly. I can't easily get over those things when Ive seen them treated like serious threats in the past.
Usually when people make statements about Grievous, or how he's portrayed in each medium (EU, movie, TCW) I half agree half disagree, but I'll be honest by saying you summed up my thoughts exactly and I absolutely agree with everything you said.

Seems people often forget that Grievous is mortally injured during the events of RotS and the reason he acts differently is because of that, it's not fair to judge someone so poorly based off of the last few days of their life, especially if that problem is he's simply recovering and trying not to die in a weakened state.
It's also overlooked that RotS has like, 12 fights in it, with its runtime and Grievous not being the main antagonist, the content of his fight suffered severely for it, same with Dooku after all.

@@rustkarl Well I suppose that's fair, I more ment he was mortally injured when Mace nearly killed him, but he heals rather quickly, so as the days pass he heals more, the point is I think people forget he's injured at all.
The mace windu part is the part I still remember after watching this show like more than 5 years ago!

The anakin vs ventress fight in this show is also where the running gag of whenever anakin fights someone with her sabers (such as barriss) or a dual blade user. When he grips the wrist his his metal hand and they drop it. It's used a few times in the cgi clone wars and I think in rebels but I can't remember.

I love this show just like I did when I watched it in 2003, the action is phenomenal and you truly see the power of the PT era Jedi in the force, it also introduced some incredible characters like Fordo and Durge the attention to detail was great, and Anakins duel on Yavin 4 is one my favorite SW duels of all
If you want actual war and nonstop action, Tartakovsky's Clone Wars is the Clone Wars for you.
If you want clones to have character and go a bit more philosophical, Filoni's Clone Wars is the Clone Wars for you.
In the past I've said that Tartakovsky's is the better of the two, but I've come to realize that they've become too different from one another to really say one is better on the whole than the other because they have two very different goals.
But if they don't change anything about the battle of Coruscant and Palpatine's capture in this Final Season of Filoni's Clone Wars, then I argue that what we see in Tartakovsky's still happens because that chase through Coruscant and that train fight is just too awesome to retcon, -which then makes Tartakovsky's the better of the two.-
I really love how they made jedi fare in different environments. Fisto with his special kyber crystal that allows him to be underwater, saesee tin capturing a separatist ship. And so on
