  • In this episode we're going to explore the basics of the Ornament and Crime. This module is similar to the ALM Pamela's Pro Workout I talked about previously, in that it's computer based and can perform a variety of functions. The Ornament and Crime is different in that it is open sourced, it runs a variety of programs called Apps, and Applets, and you can load various different firmware on it. You can even develop your own if you are so inclined and skilled.

    About 5 Minute Modular
I'm no expert on modular synthesis, but I can make a patch and do my research. There's lots of great resources out there but they them seem to do a lot of talking and don't necessarily clearly and concisely show you how to do things and get results. So I thought as I figure things out and prove to myself that I've learned new concepts, I'll make a short video showing how to do it, and catalogue the sources I used to do it.

I'm going to try and keep each video to around 5 minutes and deal with only one or 2 concepts in each. There won't be any talking, just examples and simple explanations. And I'll always show you that it does work and link to my sources, PDF's of my patches, and a jam or song I've done to show that the ideas can actually make music.
