In the tutorial island, the area where you mine iron and pick cotton, if you stick to the left edge you will eventually find a couple hidden mobs guarding a chest that drops 200 silver. You can use it to get the equipment fast instead of farming then crafting

Easier to just buy two extra mules then get them from the trader when heading off to the last part of the tutorial. That's about 5k starting right there.
