Heath Ledger has no idea of Ned Kelly. He was conned by Ian Jones who presented him as some sort of victim.
He murdered 3 police in cold blood at Stringybark Creek.
The suggestion there were 150 police at Glenrowan at the siege, is not true. Initially there were only 8 Victoria police at 3.15am when Ned Kelly opened fire on the police. There was eventually a total of only 30 police there.
Ned Kelly was a very serious criminal.
In the movie, he claimed not to be there as per the scene shown. He lied and admitted he was there after he was captured.
The movie is a load of fictitious rubbish.
    Sorry Heath, you were conned.

To be honest with you I do think Ned being from a family who believed in God etc, was backed into a corner and was just trying to get his mother back. Morality was definitely higher back then so tone of the film Ned is quite accurate I feel. It wasn’t so epic it was a bloody shame it all went to shit. Point being Heath nailed his portrait of Ned. He was really quite solemn about it all and just wanted peace. Interesting how the current Victorian police have all become dictators like this situation with Ned.😅

@@leesydneyharry7958 Your comment about the Victorian police being dictators is not true.
82% of the police in Victoria at that time were IRISH. The Royal Commission, held in 1881, was anti-police and went after the police, BUT found, and stated in their report, that the police acted properly in dealing with the extensive criminality of Kelly.
There were many poor settlers in North Est Victoria who worked hard and made a go of it, without having to thieve as Ned Kelly did. The film is not true in any sense. It is a load of fictitious rubbish.
