Northfield is the only one listed that could be considered outside the Twin Cities Metro (and not by much). There's a LOT more to Minnesota than Minneapolis/St. Paul. I grew up on the iron range, and would take that over the cities in a heartbeat.
All my relatives lived in Buhl Mn dating back to the late eighteen hundreds. My mother used to talk about Buhl all the time. My great-grandfather was in charge of the Buhl iron ore mine. Ever heard of Richard Anderson, he is my cousin, Richard played the part of McGiver on the TV series back in the 1970s. My uncle was chief of police in Buhl back in the early 1900s. I have been to the Iron Range twice, I stayed at my aunt and uncle's cottage on Lake Fourteen and I loved it. In 1996 I spent a week in Ely on a fishing trip. I caught a twenty-pound Northern Pike that I have mounted on my wall here in Northern California!! Why is Minnesota turning into another mess like California? I have always planned on retiring in MN but changed my mind. Why move to a far-left blue state after living in the bluest state in the country???
Dude, outside of the Twin Cities is RED. We paid no attention to masks and lockdowns. Not even the cops. Come to western Minnesota. We think of ourselves as East Dakota.
I'm so glad that you didn't say Stillwater, my hometown. There's nothing here, so don't move here. When Minnesota shut down, we could look across The St. Croix Nation Scenic Riverway, and see Wisconsin. Wisconsin stayed open. There's no history here either, so don't move here. There are no more old homes left to purchase...
@johnryman1366 There hasn't been a prison in Stillwater since 1914. The closest ones would be in Bayport and Oak Park Heights. The famed Younger Brothers, of the Jesse James ilk did spend time in what we call The Old Old Prison. It burned 🔥 down in 2002, and that land is covered in high end condominiums. It was built in Battle Hallow, the sight of a battle between the Chippewa and Dakota in 1839. Some say it's haunted land. 👻
Only the twin cities? If the curies are so great....why do 100000 of their refugees spend summer weekends ii in Brainerd or Duluth each? What about Rochester....what about Owatonna?
Mostly affluent enclaves in suburban Twin Cities, with only a couple exceptions, and we have 5-month winters here, which rarely appears in the video footage.
So your saying living close to the twin cities is the best? I disagree. There's a lot more towns/cities in Minnesota than the suburbs. We may live among the rocks and cows but I'd take them over living close the septic dump they call the Twin Cities.
i know i’m coming here five months too late but i’m trying to do some research about minnesota before visiting and considering moving, what are some cities you’d personally recommend?
I can’t believe Brewster isn’t on this list. Tucked in sw mn along hiway 60 it is wonderful. The odors from the hog slaughtering plant, the sewage treatment facility and the dead animal rendering plant pretty much lose their pungence by the time they waft over Brewster. Nice little downtown bar and gas station round out their attraction. Go there for a weekend of fun and relaxation!
I live in mn. I WOULD NOT retire here. Lake minnetonka is not what it use to be. It use to be alot cleaner. The richer neighborhoods around the lake pollute the lake by the fertilizers they put in their lawn and when it rains it washes into the lakes. Discusting. ALL THE PLACES you mentioned are WAY , WAY , to exspensive.
why can't I find a video about towns that aren't suburbs of twin cities. as a georgia man who wants to escape the heat and traffic of Atlanta, I want othertow s or cities. kindalike duluth, or rochester
Every place you named you gotta have money to live there so they aren’t the best places to live . Go 2 hours in any direction from the twin cities and you can get more bang for your buck
When was the lat time you were! I just heat that computer voice lie! Peaple are paying 10%tax on all we buy let's not talk about the 17 billion $surplus squandered
All of these are to close to the Twin Cities where crime is through the roof and the job market is on again off again. Raise your families in more rural areas bot east and west of there.
Ice fishing is a cure for cabin fever? They don't know much about ice fishing do they! My ice house is 8'/8'/8' 10 sheets of plywood. Also is this just a list of suburbs?
Well draw a circle 40 miles outside St Paul / Minneapolis and everywhere in Minnesota is a great place to live. The powers that be think being in and around a huge metroplex is the thing. For the average American I would say avoid these places…
Anoka is a nice place to live in. It's the Halloween Capital of the World, it holds 3 parades every October and other festivities celebrating Halloween.
Uggh-AI bot voice cadence is annoying and ither than the statistics, the descriptions of these places anyone could do or say without ever visiting those cities. 🤯
Did you have AI do the research for this video? Or did someone pay you? The state is larger than alot of countrys on this planet and you couldnt even barely get out of one or two countys 🤦👎
The first 6 shown in this list you will need to make a high 6+ figures to afford housing, taxes, and other amenities
Yea, I'm surprised he didn't put Orono and Woodland on the list if he's listing Excelsior and Wayzata.

Northfield is St Olaf and Carlton colleges, very very expensive houses and snooty professors for neighbors, your robot was wrong
Dude, outside of the Twin Cities is RED. We paid no attention to masks and lockdowns. Not even the cops. Come to western Minnesota. We think of ourselves as East Dakota.
Northfield id snooty, if you aren't a professor at Carlton or St Olaf. or have been there for 20 years
Silver Bay and Two Harbors are very neat community's.

i can’t tell if your kidding… stillwater is the best
@@mileswinslow7553Stillwater is currently open for business as a level 4 prison

And Detroit Lakes. ALL of these Twin Cities rich people come here to vacation. Many own lake homes.
From the video footage, it seems that there is no Winter in Minnesota.

Moorhead (Fargo) is a wonderful area.
Crookston is heaven on earth!
Crookston is very underrated
There's more to Minnesota than the twin cities metro. Next time try doing some actual research into the entire state
wow....the cities, are you kidding no thanks
You sure didnt look at taxes and crime in the 7 county metro area
Best places to live in Minnesota or Minneapolis?

Way too slanted towards spendy Twin Cities suburbs. There is more to Minnesota than that.
Money Magazine named Chanhassen one of the best places to live if i recall it was number 1😊
Missed Duluth and Rochester.
What about Rochester?

Yeah but Lakeville schools are 7 million dollars in debt due to the new elementary school which we don’t need
Taxes crooks
Lol
Id like to learn about north eastern MN.
No one thinks of the Iron Range
When was the lat time you were! I just heat that computer voice lie! Peaple are paying 10%tax on all we buy let's not talk about the 17 billion $surplus squandered
Glad I am in Chanhassen...😊
People who live in Minnesota
I do! i’m there right now!👇
the weather is not to like and Wayzata is uber expensive
Why are all the so called good places to next to Minneapolis and St Paul which has the worst crime rate
All of these are to close to the Twin Cities where crime is through the roof and the job market is on again off again. Raise your families in more rural areas bot east and west of there.
😂😂😂 making the most of legal pot, eh hon?
Our governor has a home outside of mn.
How stupid can you be to say Edina is a good place to retire, on the same breath say average median price of $400,000!... nope Next!
Shakopee
Oh ya you betcha. Come to good old Minnesota and have your own lake😅
Ice fishing is a cure for cabin fever? They don't know much about ice fishing do they! My ice house is 8'/8'/8' 10 sheets of plywood. Also is this just a list of suburbs?
why don't you say the best suburbs of the cities....😮
Well draw a circle 40 miles outside St Paul / Minneapolis and everywhere in Minnesota is a great place to live. The powers that be think being in and around a huge metroplex is the thing. For the average American I would say avoid these places…
You missed Clinton Falls,😅
Anoka is a nice place to live in. It's the Halloween Capital of the World, it holds 3 parades every October and other festivities celebrating Halloween.
And Rochester, Mankato & Duluth?!🤔.
No fats on crime, rent cost, medical cost, nothing but your worthless opinion!

AI made this video
seems so, like the robotic voice.
AI

Not
Minnesota needs more Conservatives
Separate outstate from the metro.
