Great job, Edd 👍🏼. I’m from Down Under, mate, lol. It’s summer here at the moment and I’m starting to clean my wood heater out and stock up my woodshed for our winter this year in 2024. I love to know that our chimney is clean and safe to use. I use the wire brush and it’s a bit hard as we have a double story house to contend with. The Typhoon looks a little bit easier.

An old man taught me a simple way to clean your chimney. Add a russet potato to your wood stove fire once a week. The chemicals in the potato dry up the deposits in the chimney and the dry material drops back into your wood stove.
I tried it and after buring 4 potatos in a months time i inspected my chiney and the glazed deposits were gone leaving s flat black thin layer of dried soot.

Is that type of vacuum kind of pricey? I've been considering using a regular shop vac with a hepa filter. Wouldn't that be okay to use?

You know what I think it probably would. Probably the same thing.
The vac was not expensive, I got it new off ebay for about £25 🏚️🤠
