  • Towing the E46 M3 up to Hi-Speed Motorsports. The shop is in Milford, CT. Its a long haul but worth every bit. Lots of cool cars at the shop getting prepped for the season. They do all sorts of prep work from your daily driver maintenance to specializing in race car builds. The E46 will get all the AKG Motorsport parts installed and a cage.

I love that the Ultimate Klasse stickers and my Polizei Dein Partner stickers still remain this long after. I can't wait to see this come back from getting caged. It is weird seeing my old daily driver stripped apart, missing pieces, etc. I know this is going to be awesome when done. Keep it up, I can't wait!

Hey Christina, what is your story? Did you start with the e30 in your other videos? Where did you get your racing license? How many years have you been racing?

Hey Rommell! I got my start driving my E36 M3 a few years ago. I started with autox and then began with track days before going into time trial and then w2w racing. It went from street car to racecar and I got my license in 2016. Did a full season and then some last year. Same plan this year with the E36 while this E46 slowly gets built.

Thank you for the quick response! I have been thinking about getting a 3 series to begin building it into something for w2w. Just interesting to see what platform some people prefer.

Can't go wrong with a BMW! There is a reason you see so many out there on track. E30s are the most affordable and you can race Spec E30 which is a well populated class. I've got a soft spot for the E36 for obvious reasons. These are cheap to find and easy to work on. The E46 costs a bit more but is the best platform of all of them all. Also

Originally I was thinking e36 just because of cost and it seems more scaleable. The e36 seems like a platform that I can continue to build upon.
Recently I was looking into e46's, such as a 330. I know it is a superior platform...I just can't decide.

The E36 will be cheaper to develop. People have been developing that chassis for a long time and parts are affordable with the market saturation. Pretty cheap to build a simple track car and develop it into a racecar over time. Its also hard to go wrong with the 330. There is a pretty big spec class SE46 that you can run in BMW CCA or NASA. The car also slots into T3 with SCCA so you will have competition no matter which club you end up racing with.
