There's always something about running around in a tiny mech while wreaking absolute havoc that makes things so fun that you feel like cackling loudly.
tiny compared to other mechs maybe ... but if this thing stands in front of you it´s not that tiny anymore ... and those 8 guns are meant to be anti personal so immagine this thing stomping with 155 kph torwards you as a simple infantryman or civilian

Lighter units often suffer in head on clashes where they can't use their manoeuvrability as effectively. however once both sides have lost a few players there's a lot more room and lighter units become far more valuable. Experienced players will save themselves for the later stages of the game where they can have the most impact.

oh shit! they finally added magshot ammo quircks to the flea! i did this when the magshots first came out but you only could carry 240 shots and it just was not worth it always running out of ammo with only 350-400 damage to show for it.
Also in a match last night I matched up with another flea with this build and a spider... we ran arround like a team and wrecked everything.... we ripped apart a king crab.... it was glorious.

The advantage of magnetically driven projectiles is that the ammo for it is much smaller than powder weapons. Why in the world is it so heavy in Battletech?
This mech is great, but the Locust 1V is better. I can only get 4 kills a match before I run out of ammo. The light PPC and 4x mags in the Locust keep it terrifying late game.
If you can put 8 ballistics on the flea. Is there any variant with enough hardpoints to fit 4 clan srm 4s? I can't play mwo but I love everything battletech when it comes to lore and the cockpit playstyle side of battletech aka mechwarrior. Was just curious if they had one where you could basically swap those 8 magshots for 4 csrm 4s. With the csrms you basically can do double the single shit burst of the magshots with, if I'm not mistaken, each srm offers the addition of a chance to critseek at the same weight cost. Would be fun as hell to play i think
Why do you not already have all of them. Locust and Flea best mechs in game, and they are cheap! Had a 1500 dmg game in my Peanut Butter couple months ago. The stars just aligned... in a locust. Nothing instills as much fear as a tiny bug. You get under their feet and they panic, cant hit a single shot as they start shaking.
Dont play, but seems like they are trying to make all mechs be able to deal huge amounts of damage. Curious if players see it the same or if comes solely down to the skill of the pilot.
You... had... the highest score with a Fle-19 ... ! Out of only 8 Mechs left standing. Your head and torso had no more armor for over half the match if I understand the UI well.
Don't guass weapons explode? I remember dying from a weapon explosion on my magshot flea..suposed it could have been the ammo pre quirk.@@MrWhateverfits
In a previous video I commented on CASE on the LT/RT for an IS XL build, which someone corrected and correctly pointed out makes no sense. But Magshot/AP Gauss rifles themselves explode so having it on the arm might let you live a tiny bit longer here.
@@zer0render you are correct, CASE will prevent weapon explosion damage in an arm from spilling over into the adjacent ST. it would be a straight upgrade since he has the slots for it, though in this instance i would probably instead add light ferro and max out the leg armor, or possibly even strip a little off the torsos and get an additional half ton of ammo.
It is a learned skill. Couple years ago, I wanted to tank my PSR as Every t1 game I got into was a rollfest. So wanted to knock myself back deep into t4. Decided I would just play my lights, because like you, would often die quick with little damage. And since that was sort of the point, I lost all inhibition. Just charge in and git em. Funny thing is, if you do that intelligently, as in charge in on that one straggler, or wait til everyone is shooting the atlas, you become a god. After about a month, I was right back where I started, in t3 fighting t1 players, and still gaining PSR. I got good just thru practice. Lights are retarded fun when you get comfortable in them. People generally panic when a light latches onto them. Adrenaline shakes end all aim ability. You barely have to move, just a little forward and back dance, and you can kill anything 1v1, with the right knife fighting build. The closer you get, the harder it is for them. So avoid trying to build a 'long range' flanker, thats a job for bigger lights, like the jenner iic or cicadas. Flea, Locust, Commando, get in under their feet. Small pulse is 100% better than er mediums. Watch some of DATAs light vids, see how little he moves when he latches onto a straggler. It's almost comical, and yes, it really is that easy. Just dont charge into the hornets nest, but if you do, pop a UAV. Edit: I really want to stress how much people panic when a really aggressive locust or flea focuses on them. I've run whole lances of snipers off the wall in HPG. Ive destroyed countless assaults who thought they were gonna be a sniper, because ERlarge burn time is so long. Fear NOTHING! (except somebody who matches your aggression and also has streaks.) When people think you have no fear, they WILL assume it's for good reason, even if yer sporting a single small pulse cuz yer MGs are outta ammo and you have no armor left.

@@Kasperring Osiris can be a fun mech, but yeh, completely different than a flea. How I break it down for people is basically there is 3 types of light mechs. Flanker: Fast, longer range mechs. Get where people dont expect you to be, and poke at them so their cover isnt safe. Either they face you and ignore your entire team, or you get free shots, or they have to flee, thus giving up a defensive position. Knife fighter: Short range high dps builds. Find the stragglers, snipers, or Linkdeads, and eat em up. Backstabber: High risk, high reward. Come up from behind and dump a massive alpha into peoples back armor. Sneaky Snek is the master of this, watch his vids. Bigger mechs do not work well as knife fighters, you really do need that tiny hard to hit mech to pull it off all the time. Not saying you can never do it, as I have a few small pulse bigger lights, but they are very hit n miss. Whereas it's really hard to have a bad game in a flea or locust.
@@hohenzollern6025 I prolly just need more practice, I've only played a few months, but quickly found that I gravitated toward the light or fast medium mechs...I used to play a lot of World of Tanks and was actually pretty good at it (top 10% in EU), so my map awareness was already pretty decent...I did find though, that everytime I got into a slow heavy or assault, I'd wind up in the wrong spot and just be stuck there, or I'd commit and everyone else would bug out while I was stuck... In the faster mechs, I find I can easly switch flanks to keep them unsure of where the fight is gonna be, run to assist an assault getting swamped by lights or even kite a few heavies or assaults if I end up alone...But atm I'm around 500 games played and only just learning the positions to go to on the different maps still...
Dude I haaaaaaaate fighting this build in lights. It is absolutely broken. I straight cannot play against it in a locust or anything with an xl that can't tank more than a couple of those pinpoints point blank.
It's only 16 damage on a 2 second cooldown. Six small pulse is also 2 second cooldown and 20 damage. It's not broken, thats all in your mind... any light knife fighter that latches onto you will destroy you, that is their job. People panic too much and cant aim when they get the adrenaline shakes. So relax, it only takes one, calm, well placed shot. Breathe.
Baradul, what's the downside of running a light mech as I see there's loads of them. You barely take any damage if you don't stand still and you can pack a 50 alfa that shoots and hides with no retaliation.
Told ya this thing is stupid. also lol I was in game 2 and had no idea how your flea cut through that wall when you backed out, now that I see the replay and know who it is, yeah he just walked right through that wall lmao. He just punches up to 1k ping and does shit like that. Even your game chat called him out for hacking lmao.

In both games 20t fleas did the most damage. Truly it is not the size but the way one uses it.
It is the size. Its so small its easy to miss even looking directly at it if its not spotted with a red box over it.

How about CASE on the arms?
case prevents ammo explosions from damaging surrounding areas. It won't work on the Magshots themself and the ammo doesn't explode so no need.

16 damage is 4 medium laser alpha strike. This one does this in rapid fire.

Being "HOT" would be better if it didn't involve a crosshairs painted on your a$$.
The singles work but move the half ton of ammo to the leg and valla you can get in 4 doubles.
